Alex has been treating and operated on me over a number of years for a complicated and difficult shoulder problem. He has put a huge amount of time and energy into helping me going way more than the extra mile. I am very very appreciative and indebted to him. Thankyou Dr O'Beirne!

My husband had wrist surgery with Alex although he also had a redial fracture at his elbow, Alex just ignored it. Greedy guy.

Excellent service from the rooms staff and a great outcome from my surgery. Highly recommended.

First met at St John's Murdoch was told my daughter needed surgery on broken finger as it would be disfigured if she didn't have it done. He seemed very nice although did use some swear words in conversation which I generally don't with my children. Had surgery at St John's Subiaco was told the screw he put in was too long but only get one chance at doing it so if you have problems could be taken out in 6 months. We went back in 6 months as her finger was still quite swollen looking around joint. Explained we had done all the physio appointments following surgery but didn't help the look of finger. Was then told it would cost another $400 out of pocket to remove the screw that was too long and try to fix the shape a little. Explained that already had quite a large out of pocket expense with first surgery only to be told maybe I should get a better health insurer, I have HBF gold cover which I presume is quite high cover. My daughter was then told if she put on a bit of weight her finger wouldn't look as bad. I haven't been back and will endeavour to find a different surgeon to remove the screw from her finger. Overall very poor treatment all round.

Lied to CEO at Fremantle Hospital Group after accusing me of being on a disability pension.in my opinion arrogant know it all pig. Stepped outside of his scope at tax payers expense. Forcing me to take Dept of Health to court to have my file changed to the truth.

Don't like being charged for a Post-Op subsequent visit. I paid the over the schedule amount for the Surgery. I have never been charged for Post Op visits by any other Surgeons. What is the point of having Private Insurance when you are continually having to pay out. When I didn't attend the appointment I received a Bill for $55 for non attendance!

Went to see Dr Alex O’Beirne for a second opinion on my hands as the first surgeon was disengaged when doing his consultation. I told Alex I was looking for the right person to operate on my hands.
Dr Alex did everything I would have hoped for, he listened when I spoke, he was totally present listening with his hears and his eyes. Then when it came to talking about the options available for me, he covered everything. When I had questions and concerns he listened and responded with the answers. I felt that as a specialist he still had fantastic people skills and he genuinely had my best interest at heart. My surgery was on the 20th of March 2019

Mr Alex O’Beirne recently operated on my right hand. I was in a great deal of pain and had very limited use of my hand prior to the surgery. From my initial consultation, the surgery and follow up appointments, I was impressed by Mr O’Beirne’s very pleasant manner, his willingness to explain the surgical procedure he would perform and his obvious surgical skill in greatly improving the condition of my hand. Having previously had my left hand operated on by a different surgeon, which resulted in very painful complications, I was anxious about having my right hand operated on. My experience with Mr O’Beirne has been excellent and I am very grateful to have such a positive result. I would highly recommend him. Added to this, I found Mr O’Beirne’s secretary to be very professional, efficient and lovely to deal with. Thank you.

Very rude and arrogant, do not waste your money look for a specialist who values and cares about his patients.

My mother had an operation in March 2017 we were told she would be in hospital three days. The very next morning she was sent back to the home in which she was a resident. Alex O'Beirne did not come and see her before she left hospital, or after. She was left in the care of carers not nurses. The first morning i went to the home my mother had been showered, her arm which was operated on not covered in the shower, the wound was saturated. Three days later she died. Where was the after care, the hospital (South Perth) would not tell us who discharged her. Iam not a nurse, but she was hot and sweating (infection) probably, but if she was in hospital having proper care, would this tragedy have happened? Iam writing this for other people whose surgeon does not check on them after an operation, and nobody will say who discharged my mum. A beautiful, quite lady that did not deserve this treatment. No autopsy was done but they said heart attack, did this lack of care contribute to that? Shelley Middleton.
