Discovery Parks - Coogee Beach reviews
70 We've stayed here a few times now, yes it's pretty basic but we're camping we don't need fancy and it has everything you need.
The location is so good, I love that it's on the beach front and the kids love the park and all the grass to play on.
On this occasion I went to start my car to checkout and a light had been left on so the battery was dead. Wayne, who works there came and put it on charge and sorted it all out for me while I went to the beach. You honestly don't get that type of service in many places anymore. So grateful for him and his help. Thank you so much, can't wait to stay again
I enjoyed my stay in early December last year but when I checked out I was badgered to leave a review. Not once but THREE TIMES! First it was the young bloke in the office and then I received two e-mails. I e-mailed management straight away and was informed that I "should have" received two messages with a link for a review. On the 27th of December, after staying at another one of the parks, I was badgered to leave a review for them too. I e-mailed Discovery Parks administration and after a fortnight I e-mailed them again asking why they hadn't replied. I pointed out the level of disrespect for paying customers is ridiculous. I got a reply within a few days saying that the e-mail had been sent to the marketing team. Today I sent a follow up e-mail asking why I hadn't been contacted about this and I don't know whether I'll get a reply. I don't care. Discovery Parks are one of the most disrespectful companies I have encountered and I certainly don't appreciate being ignored when I've happily paid so much money for a patch of dirt to throw my tent on. If I ever stay there again I know what to expect but I think the likelihood of that happening is very low.
Service was friendly & efficient. Room was clean & well appointed. Great location, right on the beach & close to south Fremantle. We had a budget cabin which was really a glorified donga, tiny. As with all accommodation these days it was over priced at $140/night but in a normal world only worth about $80/night due to age of building & park & size of room.
Horrid experience. We have stayed in so so many discovery parks, this being by far the worst. Cabin was dirty, and broken. Beds were horrible. When contacted the property manager, we were told 'I know how the cabin is. That was the only cabin left'.
We moved interstate and were waiting on our cargo. The day it arrived we left (4 nights out of 8 paid) and only returned on checkout day to give in the keys. Couldn't stay any longer than needed in that shabby, dirty, smelly cabin.
We booked for a travelling sporting team, a group of 20, over five cabins. Perfect for our requirements such as cooking facilities, outdoor space for team gatherings, BBQ areas, and plenty of space to park multiple vehicles.
We had a minor hiccup when making the booking, but Margaret and the admin team helped us solve the problem with no stress or fuss. Amazing service and very warm and friendly! We will definitely be back and we will recommend to the multiple different teams who travel from SA to WA in the future (and our counterparts in other states). Great job team!
This place was in a good location, quiet and seemed to have a lot of facilities though I just had a brief stay so didn't use them. Very limited opening hours for check-in (open 9am to 5pm) but the process to get an after hours key was straightforward. I got asked to send a picture of my ID though, which seemed weird as I've never been asked to do this before until this holiday but it seems like it's a WA thing as I keep being asked for ID at accommodation rather than just a credit card? Hopefully it's deleted after the fact for privacy reasons. Then I got asked to go to reception in the morning to finish checking in with a signed form but I was leaving early and it wasn't open so just left the keys (didn't want to leave a form with all my details in an unsecured keybox).
Overall I thought it was expensive at $140 for the quality of the room so hence the lower stars, usually I've paid about $100-120 around similar locations in Australia for the size and amenities and the fact it's off season. It was quite rundown in the room which I'm ok with when the price is cheap but it wasn't. Two main issues came up as well - the bed was on wheels and moving around in bed made it wheel away from the wall, so annoying. Had to create make-shift stoppers to get it to stay still. Also the wifi was unusable in my cabin and I only had 3g data inside (5g outside so maybe they are little Faraday cages: P).
We had a caravan site tucked up the back amungst mostly permanent residents (park appears to be mostly permanent residents). Although the park was clean, tidy, great location and reception were helpful we were not thrilled with our site. We had a paved site and the pavers were covered in old peeling paint which inevitably tracked into our van and the edges were all cracked and chipped which was hazardous. The other van sites near the entrance to the park appeared to be in a much better condition.
Great location and great service. Amazing camp kitchen with everything you need. We had a camper van site near the beach and was very happy with everything there:)
Great place to stay. Loads of things to do there. So close to the beach. Really polite staff there to.
Ok for a night, you have beach access but there is no playground in the park
For this to go out to the playground in the front
Great place, amenities are very clean, old but clean.
Cleaning staff, fantastic
Office staff, fantastic
Camp kitchen is always clean as well, its a very well run establishment, couldn't be happier
Location 10 out of 10 as well
We spent 4 nights there and loved it, nice and clean and easy access to the beach for kayaking, fishing and snorkelling
Great caravan park plenty of room great facilities terrific for our grandchildren. Beach front tennis courts playground coffee shop surf club close to shopping centres pubs etc only 4 klms from South Terrace in Fremantle.
Loved our stay. Nice and clean, just over dune to lovely swimming beach and walk to netted area and Omeo wreck snorkel site
This place is very interesting, they have a toilet closure for 8hrs on the day we arrive. Most days the whole toilet area cover with leaking water from the toilet for hours with no sign of cleaner to clean up.
Receptionist some are friendly some are rude, especially if you are not Australian, be prepare, as they will talk down on you. They treated me like if they're doing me a favor for staying at the caravan park (which I pay money for, not getting it for free)! The maintenance guy is the worse out of all, making the whole stay very uncomfortable and unhappy. Shameful.
However discovery park in woodman very different approach, very helpful and friendly receptionist, much more nicer park with only a few dollars more.
Excellent customer service and superior accommodation in the price range. ***** Can't be faulted
Close to Coogee Beach.
Rented a 2 bedroom cabin, it had a large fridge, gas stove, gas hot water, couches and TV. Clean and tidy, easy to find everything.
Check-in was super quick, confirmed my reservation and received a map to the cabin in under 30 seconds.
Close by is the beach, a tennis court, park gym equipment and a short walk to children's playground and cafe at the Coogee Beach jetty, or SLSC.
Peaceful and very relaxing place.
To start your day with a walk along the beach, coffee and then to watch the sunset is pretty special.
We are local to Coogee and had a little staycation with our kids this WA Day long weekend. Pretty park with nice trees and located right on the beach. A cafe 200m in either direction. The surfing lizard cafe to the south and Coogee beach cafe to the north. Both are great Toilet and shower block was a little tired but plenty of hot water and clean enough. Would recommend.
Great place on the beach. Staff friendly and very cooperative if you need extra towels etc.
However, unit 82 needs a new bed and couch asap and some TLC to the bathroom paintwork. Cold tap in shower vibrates very loudly.
