Discovery Parks - Kalgoorlie Goldfields reviews
63Way too many permanents in this caravan park. They drive through with trucks, trailers and utes at all hours. They should permanently be on one side of the caravan park with their own entrance and be fenced off from holiday makers. We left a day early, as there were so many reminders coming through to lock everything up even though they had electric gates closing at 6pm. Is the theft problem from inside the caravan park or outside? Would not recommend this caravan park. Try a different Park.
This caravan park would have to win a prize for the worst WA park. It is the dustiest, noisiest park full of mine works that speed through the park have no respect for other people and their children. Why would you let mine site service trucks into CVP? This should be a mining camp.look for somewhere else This is a disgraceful G Day parks should be ashamed to have this listed as one of theirs. Total waist of money 5 star price for 1 star park.
Room and bed okay. Negative the step to the cabin broke, poor maintenance. The kitchen has everything in terms of tools but one tiny pot and no pans so what's the point of all that gear and the kitchen I am paying for ridiculous. If you find people steal stuff take a bond and hand it out of check in. It's not rocket science.
Only stayed one night last minute and they were fantastic, very dog friendly and safe and fun for children
Can’t describe how disappointed I am wasting money here. We got allocated our spot, awesome, receptionist was lovely too but we left and came back and someone later that night was parked directly in our spot. He parked in a way we would be in the other campers way unless we boxed him in.
We found the Park Manager after we walked around trying to find the guy who took over our spot with no luck (with many helpers). Park managers advice was to park in the other unpowered site next to ours with the other occupants and share because we were there for only one night. He said for us to call after hours number if we see the guy and of course we couldn’t find him until morning. Approached the guy who took our spot “someone took my spot so I parked here sorry” but isn’t that the park managers job to sort this stuff out? Do they even know who they allow in the park?
Waited until after 9am to talk to reception to tell them how unsatisfied we were with the situation. Receptionist was just quiet after the key and the in the other room (He never bothered to show his face) we hear the Park Manager “Is he still there? Ill go talk to him now. ” As if that’ll help, surely they could of worked out who it was. No we weren’t offered any discount or compensation. $32 (Unfortunately reward members) for half a unpowered camp spot (made a variety of friends though).
Amenities etc are great just not management if you have this problem.
Well kept park with large sites that can be difficult to reverse into with a large van.
Ablutions are clean and modern.
Great campgrounds! The ability to have ensuite camp sites. Great location! Would stay again!
Powered caravan site. Amenities were spotless. Great showers. Friendly staff. Nothing was a bother. Close to everyrhing.
Whoever thought buying the cheapest double know to man was good idea needs a punch in the face. The coach was more comfortable! Zero Stars
Was a great site & amenities nice BUT too noisy with a lot of workers (mine?) leaving for work from around 5am.
The Park is well organised. As you would expect there is a lot of dirt and little grass, part of being in the outback. It is near the airport.
The Standard Cabin, at a cost of $225 per night, was absolutely terrible. The cabin had an antiseptic soap smell, curtains full of holes, no side tables or lights, railing to balcony falling down, cooking utensils filthy dirty, and the entire cabin was really grubby.
This Park seems to not be a venue for tourists, mainly miners and other tradies.
Thefts overnight and shouting, followed by all the mining workers driving out the park between 4-6am waking you up, means I would call this a workers accommodation rather that a place for tourist to stay with their family, then again is there anywhere in Kalgoorlie that doesn’t have these issues?
Ice cold pool, nil shade. No cold water in showers for 24 hours. Hot water dangerously hot. Confusion at reception, they tried to tell me I had a cabin but had booked a site.
I am currently staying here on our trip to Perth and wow! There are so many things to do. There is a pool, you can ride you bike and plus it is pet friendly.
Super site, everything needed for our overnight stay. Great staff, very helpful for a late check-in. Great last stop Melb-Perth.
Friendly staff and happy to help. Clean amenities in good enough condition. Pool is really refreshing and bigger then some park pools. No kids play ground, according to the scout's on bikes - to hot anyway.
Great little place, but one of your careless cleaners left the gas stove on. They must have nudged it while cleaning the stove, it hit us like a tonne of bricks when we opened the door.unpleasant experience
Top park - great facilities, roomy sites, free daily paper, lovely helpful staff - and little gift on arrival - yum! Always stay here when in Kal.
Reception staff were friendly and great camp kitchen but that was it. Don't recommend this park if in a tent, stay away.
Now for the bad.
-Showers would fluctuate between luke warm and boiling hot whilst trying to shower so avoiding burning myself want fun.
-Non power tent sites put on greased area boxed in by caravans and a extremely bright light that stayed on all night, horrible, not to mention charging someone $40 for a piece of grass is pathetic.
-Park lights stayed on all night which made it extremely hard to sleep as light shone inside tent all night.
-Poorly explained that the non power tent sites are bit of grass in the centre of all the Caravans, creepy and felt like eyes would be on our tent the whole time.
-Terrible site markings made it hard to determine where site even was.
What a terrible experience. Will never return.
