8 I went in for my driving test, arrived half an hour early even though they only suggested arriving ten minutes early. Instructor doesn’t call me up until the actual time of my appointment and then proceeds to tell me a section in the back of the book was not filled out and unless I can get someone who took me driving there in 5 minutes then the test is cancelled. I raced out and ran to a nearby shop where one of my drivers was at the time, he signed the book and I got back within i would say less than 10 minutes and asked if I could still take the test and she turned me away. Next available test isn’t till Mid May and I’m due for a baby late June. Extremely unimpressed and feel they could have put in more effort as this was just lazy that they felt the need to turn someone down considering if they had called me up a couple of minutes early we would have had time.
Edit - forgot to mention they classed that as my first attempt and I now have to pay for extra attempts
It's not often you enter a government agency and walk out thinking, " Wow! That was great! " But the lady who served me was great. No bureaucratic @&>/ just helpful and efficient.
We had Harry serve us today at DoT Kalgoorlie, outstanding service, amazing knowledge and got everything done straight away! Was amazing, made it so easy and stress free!
I went in to see how i go about getting a refund as i accidentally left a letter out when paying car registration online resulting in paying someone eles car registration staff were rather unfriendly and unhelpful and and more concerned about watching the clock so they could close doors and finish up for day
Went in 3 times and the customer service was horrible. I didn’t have a hard copy of my id and they refused to print it for me even though they were printing off emails for another man. Everyone I spoke to was miserable and I wish I was able to take my business elsewhere. Such a poor experience.
Almost no wait time, excellent service. Since the renovation it looks good! Easy to find and parking place enough.
1. System is not customer friendly because I have two cars and one is registered for 12 months, one is out of rego for one month. I want to withdraw money from registered car to renew registration of the other car. I went to department of transport at Kalgoorlie today and the lady served me said that the system doesn't allow to do that.
The second thing is, I wanted to renew registration of my second car from today onward. But system doesn't allow operator to do it. I had to pay registration for my second car for one month which was parked at home.
WA has to update their system in a way to look after their customers.
I said to Lady who served me "Access Canberra" systems are much more customer friendly and efficient. She said that "Why you are here then" I was feeling very bad, She doesn't have any right to ask me indirectly go back to Canberra.
I have some bad previous experience too when I transferred the drivers licence before. I transferred my licence to WA almost two years before. I got my licence with P plate on it, even though I had my full licence in ACT for 5 years, I had to go back to department of transport at Cannington to correct it again. In ACT We get the licence at the same time we applied for. Similar thing happened to my wife too. Her licence was corrected after the second visit to Transport authority.
I believe WA systems are very inefficient and not customer friendly. As we are the customers, we feel like moving back to ACT where we can enjoy very good government service.
After living in America for 2 years and dealing with the DMV, this place is a breath of fresh air. Zero wait time, friendly, helpful, and fast. Thank you!
