I as an employee had work related questions I wanted answers to. I was put through to one person who could not give me an answer then transferred to another person in another section who answered phone with “hello” and then phone call was disconnected.

On the whole, new teachers are thrown to the wolves and not given any support by admin, nor the lazy public servants (who sit in their ivory towers over in Perth). I therefore, generally, do not recommend working for this employer. Luckily, there’s many great NON-DoE WA schools around…

If you are thinking of working at this place, let me tell you. A very toxic work environment is waiting for you especially their procurement team. I can tell you don't waste your time and risk your health even applying for a role at DoE!

Joke of a building where all of the staff working there treat you like a criminal. They all act like they are better than you, refuse to help with anything and constantly act like you're a side character in their story. I had a meeting there and a particular staff member made it known that her time was highly valuable and she didn't have time for any of my questions.

I think you're wasting a lot of money on your 'be a teacher' ads. The calibre of our teachers will improve significantly if you raise the ATAR entry score so only the best have the responsibility of educating future generations. It would also be beneficial if entry level teaching students were required to be over the age of 25 so they have a chance to get real life experience rather than going from school, to uni and then back to school.

Nice building tucked away in East Perth, 1.2km from Perth City. Lovely park beside the building, loads of cafes nearby, East Perth IGA 400m away.

I tried calling to ask if MP3 players were allowed at school in lunch to study but they didn't give me any information.

I called to hopefully get some assistance on changing schools and some understanding about what my child is going through to make me come to this decision. The Coordinator I spoke to was extremely rude. I was treated like a second class citizen. She even began raising her voice at me. I ended up having to interrupt her, explained that I didn't feel heard. I ended the call with "Im sure you're a very nice person but I am going to have to end the call now. " Really disappointing when all you want is some support through a tough situation. I had to call back and speak to someone else. Again, I was fobbed off but at least she wasn't rude about it.

I called to ask advice on how I could obtain help on finding a new school for my children and they did not even ask why I was removing them from their current school. Unless they take notice then things will not change. Parents are not always wrong and should be treated with respect. At least ask why I wanted to remove my kids from one of your substandard schools.
