I’ve been going to dalejames a few years now and I always walk out looking and feeling amazing! This is a quality salon you can trust, and service is better than any salon I’ve been to in Perth so far!

I recently moved to South Perth and by chance stumbled into Dale James & Co. I did not anticipate it would be not only a fantastic haircut, but also one of the most pleasant customer service interactions I’ve had in a long while. All the staff were bubbly, friendly and attentive. Great culture, great service, great experience.

Cannot recommend this place enough. The team here are professional and experienced and know just how to work any type of hair. What's super comforting and different to other salons is that work as a team to achieve the best results, rather than leave it to one person. Used to have curly thick hair, now I have some amazing waves! I live quite far North, but this was 100% worth the drive!

This is my second time coming to the salon and having Dale and his team look after me. I come from Melbourne to see him because him and Sarah make the best hair colouring team. They know what they’re talking about so I trust them to make my hair look amazing.

Once again Dale and his staff managed to make my daughter Shan and myself look fantastic for our special awards night.
I cant thank them enough for how wonderful we both looked on the night. Dale my new hairstyle was great and I should trust you more when you do my hair. Sara would have to be one of the best make up artist around. We always leave looking a million dollars and feel fantastic. Shaan did Shan's hair which is long and her hair shimmered all night. Worst "First date" ever.

I was recommended a consultation as my previous hair colour at another salon wasnt that great. What I wanted was babylights in the roots and then darkness in the ends because I was way too blonde (Hairdressers please note if a brunette says she wants to be a bit lighter this does not always mean blonde, it normally means lighter pieces of brunette colour) I had the consultation and felt confident I then booked in for 2 days later (the person doing the consult booked me in with someone else, however I think that they'd leave notes about what was discussed) I needed to change the booking due to a work commitment which was all fine.

When I arrived I had to re explain what I wanted again which I thought all good the stylist is trying to understand what I'm after. He seemed friendly enough and said oh this is our 'first date'. What I ended up with was lighter hair no dark low lights as discussed in the consult, when I looked at it the next day it was more a mess than I originally had.

Whenever I was in the salon, one of the other stylists coloured a ladies hair and left after the colour application for the apprentice to look after - the lady wasn't happy with her colour either and the poor apprentice was confused about how to fix it.

I contacted the salon and said I wasn't happy and was confused as I had a consult and there are no low lights at all, it is not blended or dark bits added. The response I received blew my mind I was then pretty much told it was my fault due to changing the appointment to a different stylist. I then had to explain that the original appointment booked was not with who I had the consult with anyway and I thought notes would have been left. I was charged 3/4 head of foils plus toner for it to look like worse than what I had. The stylist also suggested coming back in before Xmas for another full head of foils (this would be less then 2 months later) I'm starting to wonder if there are certain KPIs for the staff.

They did offer say I had 10 days gaurantee on the work however with a busy work schedule I didn't have the time to come in.

I also used afterpay and there is no details on the website that there is a 6 percent in-charge to the client to use it.

The salon is lovely, and great that it's open 7 days a week, but totally disappointed considering I went and had a consult.

I went thinking the salon who has a good name would have been able to fix my hair all it needed was low lights and some baby lights in the very roots. Even if I didn't get the babylights in the roots I and the ends fixed up I would have been happy.

Do not go to this salon if you are over 50! I have been twice, six months apart, and should have learned the first time that things don't often get better. Took in a photo for the first cut - I wanted a textured bob in my thick hair, not too short. Yes yes I understand she said, and an hour later I emerged with the standard Australian old lady haircut - short and unmoving. Left it for 6 months and thought maybe I should try again with a different stylist. After all the salon has huge 5 star ratings! Different stylist, photo, lengthy discussion but same result. Short and boring. I have lived in New York and London where older women frequently have longer hair; hair that moves. So I repeat, if you are older and want to be treated like your opinion counts, go somewhere else!

Dale’s cuts are nothing short of a masterpieces. My colourist and stylist took the time to ask all the questions, discuss and suggest to ensure I left with the perfect cut and colour that not only looks great but suits my lifestyle. Fun and friendly atmosphere, the time just flew by.

My first visit to this great salon today. Bonus.open on Sundays! Extremely delightful and friendly experience. Dan was very knowledgeable and skilled. Love my hair!

Absolutely, they’ve got a client for life! Everyone works together like a little beehive alongside good music and yummy coffee. I learned the owner schedules team building activities and is constantly reeducating/training his staff with the latest techniques, giving this salon a unique family feel with highly educated and capable artists. I felt so comfortable after a few visits that I finally handed my hair styling (that has not changed in 30 years) over to them and I’m so pleased with my new asymmetrical haircut! I highly recommend this salon to anyone that wants to UP their hair game!

I came in today after making an emergency call this morning about a hair dying mishap. The gorgeous lady who assisted me with help directly from the owner made me feel so welcome and comfortable throughout the whole process. All of the staff were absolutely amazing and friendly. Honestly some of the best customer service and most talented stylists I have ever met! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the staff at Dale James & Co. I will definitely be returning and telling anyone I can about this beautiful salon.
