Cygnet Clinic reviews
16 Pam deserves free barista-made coffee on the daily! A beautiful human being with genuine compassion and untold patience. Her generosity of spirit knows no bounds. Thank you Pam, I’m sure I am not alone with my admiration!
Cygnet are located in an easily accessible building, close to public transport and midland gate. Though their fees may seem high at first glance, patients end up with minimal out of pocket loss as your Medicare card enables them to process your rebate within 24 hours.
This clinic deserves 0 stars. It has attempted to remove my previous review because I exposed them for their unethical behaviour, and for the fact that they prioritise profits over patients' well-being.
A couple of years ago I was seeing Jason Sharbanee on a regular (fortnightly) basis. Unfortunately he turned out to be a grossly unethical psychologist. One Monday morning I found myself in an extremely distressed state as a consequence of the treatment meted out to me after I was unable (due to circumstances beyond my control) to attend my appointment with Jason. I was shocked and appalled to discover that I'd been unfairly charged a cancellation fee.
For Jason to instruct (authorise) a cancellation fee was not only wrong, it was an extremely cruel and insensitive way to treat a very vulnerable and sick person.
I had contacted the Cygnet Clinic (around 7 am) on Monday as soon as it was obvious that I was too sick to attend my scheduled appointment. Therefore, it was totally inappropriate in this case for a cancellation fee to be charged.
For obvious reasons, no-one can ensure that all unanticipated events happen at least 24 hours prior to their scheduled appointment. That would be a palpably absurd assumption! Therefore, there will always be occasions, such as the one that occurred with myself, when the requisite 24 hours notice cannot be given. (In addition, even if the unanticipated event happened 24 hours prior to the appointment on say a Saturday, the Clinic would still not be able to be notified of the cancellation until Monday morning).
Jason chose to act in a thoughtless, appalling manner with total disregard for myself as a person or my circumstances. This upset me greatly, causing me acute distress and untold long term harm. The Managing Director (Rachael Williams) of the Cygnet Clinic also behaved in an appalling manner and refused to apologise or reverse the cancellation fee.
I’m sure I don’t need to tell Jason/the Cygnet Clinic that the relationship between a Clinical Psychologist and their patient is based on sensitivity, empathy and trust. In dealing with me in such an uncaring and dismissive way, they failed to demonstrate any of these traits.
(Despite the response from the Clinic, the fact remains that they never apologised or reversed the cancellation fee).
Things broke down during my treatment and we were unable to resolve them. Things could have gone better but I have decided to look on the positive side and appreciate the good things I took away from it.
Had a terrible time with a psychologist on my two sessions on Saturday, she could care less about helping. I left a previous review, but thought to message Cygnet directly with the issues brought up. I never received a response. - Katelyn
Recommended by my doctor on a mental health care plan, My first psychologist and I at Cygnet did not see eye to eye, but then having changed to Bernard Hughes found him to be an amazingly grounded psychologist, he has brought clarity again to life, and continues to inspire lessons within me even after our sessions. Thank you.
I highly recommend this clinic.very understanding, even when I arrive late or can't make an appointment. Very friendly staff and practitioners!
Theses people lost my application to see a bulk billing psychiatrist twice. I've been waiting a year for their response and when I called to see what was going on they blamed a change in staff for losing my details. Absolutely hopeless and wouldn't recommend my dog to them!
I have left my phone number for a phone call and have had no reply. I don't accept covid as an excuse for the incompetence of your staff and practice. I think this is pathetic and don't expect to be contacted by you. I have also written emais and been given no reply. It's not good enough, as simple as that.
Cygnet Midland and Jason Sharbonee have provided me with extensive one on one psychology that have provided life changing results. I was in desperate need specialist care and pleased to say the whole experience from walking through the doors and even telephone support has been amazing

I was referred to Cygnet Clinic through my Doctor and it was exactly what I needed. My Cygnet psychologist is compassionate, understanding and insightful. Her box of tissues beside me on the couch is a wonderful touch. I highly recommend Cygnet Clinic.
All staff here are so super friendly and the vibe is amazing! So calm and relaxing, I always recommend this place to those seeking guidance.
I have had the total opposite experience from the one star reviews. I felt that the doctors there were very professional, warm and caring. I was super happy with the Psychologist I was with, but I would have changed to another on their profile as they have the pick of the best. The rebate was in my account the same day and the gap was very small compared to other clinics.
The only problem I had was getting through on the phone without being on hold. I found the answer is book online and pick who you think suits your needs. The staff there are great and I can’t find a comparison anywhere. The psych I had was great. She was comforting when I was struggling with trauma. I really can’t say thank you enough.
I have tried to book appointments for myself and my son at various points over the last six months. Psychologists we would like to see have appointments available to book on line, ring the clinic to book be told no female Psychologists are taking on new clients at all unless I would like to be seen as a private full fee paying patient.
Do not advertise that you accept a mental health care plan appointments if you are not able to offer an appointment at any time during a six month period. What an absolute joke! You are still getting $195 per appointment regardless of private patient or care plan the only difference is you have to wait a week for Medicare to process the rebate, Money hungry clinic!
We regularly refer clients to Cygnet Clinic. The team are experienced and empathetic. They are thorough, caring, competent professionals and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
I’ve been to clinics and know that a good group like Cygnet doesn’t come around often. I was recommended by a close friend and know that I’m in good hands at this clinic. They made things smooth so it took off heaps of pressure.
Avoid this place like the Ebola virus. It's run in a sociopathic manner. Especially avoid Jason (but all of the staff really). On one particular Monday (when I had an appointment scheduled for that afternoon), I woke up violently ill. I let the clinic know that I wouldn't be able to make my appointment that afternoon. I was shocked and horrified when I checked my email later that day to discover that I'd been charged both a cancellation fee and a fee for failing to notify of a missed appointment within 24 hours. I assumed it must have been a mistake, so I contacted the clinic to clarify. However, the cancellation fee had indeed been issued by Jason.
For Jason to instruct (authorise) a cancellation fee invoice to be sent to me on that Monday was not only wrong, it was an extremely cruel and insensitive way to treat a very vulnerable and sick person. Jason chose to act in a thoughtless, appalling manner with total disregard for me as a person or my circumstances. This has upset me greatly, and has caused me terrible distress and untold long term harm.
All subsequent appeals to the Cygnet Clinic for the cancellation/late notice fee to be waived have been treated with contempt: Jason (backed by the sociopathic management) have refused to apologise or to waive the fee.
