My mum has dementia. Choosing a home came down to location for family. Craigcare was new and fresh and close by. Staff that I dealt with were helpful and friendly. We loved the coffee shop, hairdressers and activities. Age care is a hard process for any family plus we had to navigate COVID which made in even more challenging. Keep your sense of humour, ask a lot of questions and know staff are doing their best.

Throughout a challenging and emotional time of transition the staff at Craig Care Ascot have been beyond fabulous. The values of this warm and friendly organisation are genuinely visible and evident with every staff member from client relation staff to medical staff, front admin staff, reception staff, carers, nurses, activity leaders and morning/afternoon tea staff. Current residents and their families echo this happiness.
My father Ronald already feels part of a community - people know him by name (this happened within the first few days!) and more importantly they invite him to join them - being the only family member who can only visit every 6 weeks as I reside interstate this has been so great and reassuring to hear. Adamant he would never play Bingo he now looks forward to his Bingo exchanges (Craig Care staff and residents have converted him), the sing-along sessions, morning walks, quiz activities, the movement therapy groups, happy hour on a Friday and sharing a table with others at mealtimes. Both the residents and staff have been fantastic in helping my father settle in, he has now been at Craig Care Ascot for 2.5 weeks, not very long!
I understand and respect that moving from independent living with home care assistance to permanent care is not easy for the person impacted, their family and sometimes the staff involved, but Craig Care have continued to shine with positivity towards my father even on days when he finds it difficult to adjust. He knows he is cared for and everyday he shares news of his days with me via our phone calls. Thank you to everyone at Craig Care for your patience, your generosity of spirit and your dedicated care and honest interactions with our elders - they are made to feel important, valued and that they matter. The premises are beautiful, spacious, and extremely clean and the variety of general sitting areas inside and outside contribute to the welcoming spirit of this center, plus the café is excellent. Thank you for making us so welcome.

Mum was in the facility for over 2 years. She was cared for and loved by staff. She had her ups and down with her health but always well looked after. Not to say there were hiccups with “forgetting” to change her bandages or having her clothes deteriorate with the harsh wash. However in the grand scheme she enjoyed the activities, the hairdresser so close and a good cup of coffee in the downstairs cafe’. She made friends and would tell me all about it. She went out on outings and celebrated holidays with the family as well as with her new family. The hardest time was over Covid, but again I was able to see her as often as I wanted, even though suited up. And yes I saw her very often to make sure she was happy and comfortable. As family we take responsibilities even though they are cared by others.

If I could give this place a zero I would. Do not send your loved ones to CraigCare Ascot Waters, the management of this facility is appalling, they lie, change records to cover up illegal behaviour, lack honest communications and hide their wrong doing and mistakes, on top of harbouring predators as staff members who abuse and treat the residents with bullying tactics, rough handling, contempt and disrespect. It all starts out so lovely until the smoke and mirrors fade away and you see the place for what it really is.

Looks nice and new but there are no gardens but the real complaint is that our friend (a resident) says things are being stolen from her room (money and jewellery) and she's just told "they'll look into it". On occasion there was no breakfast and when she asked all she was given was Weetbix. She's never been given any physio and she's just wasting away in there. She's complained of some ailments and thought she'd be able to see a doctor but that has not happened. She's miserable and just wants to die. The management of this place is horrendous. I’m not surprised this Craigcare has been the subject of an enquiry.
