Connolly Fish & Chips

Fish supposed to be snapper. Was flat as a pancake. Texture was like it has been frozen for six months … peas dry and microwaved. Nuggets awful
Extremely stingy on the chips. Extremely overpriced for $45 I would expect more. Will not return

Awesome service on Good Friday! Wait was a reasonable 40 mins, far better than other stores at 1-2hours. Batter was delicious and for such a cheap price food was of high standard. Will definitely be coming back:)

I will keep this short. Used to be the BEST fish and chips. Now the worst I have had in years! Shame! Calamari stringy and tasteless. Fish like rubber. Chips were okay!

The fish & chips were good (especially the chips) but the squid rings were chewy and basically all batter. Our two pack would have fed four people but we were totally shocked at the big price increase from our last visit.

Had fish and chips, including calamari, prawns and crab sticks, everything taste exactly the same, no real taste, not salt or any kind of seasoning or anything to enhance the flavour of tasteless fish, just oily tasteless batter.
The mushy peas also had no real taste, came in a paper cup, was dry and looked like it had possibly been prepared previously, frozen and microwaved when ordered.
Very disappointing, will never buy from there again.

These were the best fish and chips I've had for I don't know how long. The batter was light and crispy, the dimmie wasn't overcooked and was delicious (some places serve up dimmies that are tough and chewy, like ehat I imagine an overcooked testicle would be like - not this place!) and the chips were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Everything was perfectly salted, and the portion size was good. We have now found our local go-to place for fishies and chippies, finally!

First time trying Fish and Chips from Connolly, we'll definitely be back. Speedy service, very generous portions and a fresh and delicious taste. Very impressed:)

We came here because we’ve been told the fish and chips are delicious. Well, we weren’t disappointed. It’s perfectly cooked and non greasy. Little advice, upgrade from Hake to Spanish mackerel meal. It’s worth it.

I always come here when I need my fix for fish and chips. Would recommend to anybody! I love the owner too, shes always so kind to me. Everything is super fresh and tasty

I will preface this by saying that I rarely write reviews and I am not a serial whinger. However, when you throw something out because it is inedible tends to inspire you to warn others.

This is my local and have gone here since 1992. Obviously there has been a change of ownership in 2021. I have been here twice in recent months (23/10/2021 the second time) and sadly the chips are disgusting. Woefully overcooked to the point where there is zero moisture and to add insult to injury the servings have been scaled back significantly. Should have seen rhe writing on the wall on the previous encounter. However, thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Seriously wish I had not have. Will be going to Joondalup/Beaumaris/Heathridge from now on.

I'm constantly amazed by the quality and the quantity of food that they serve. Tonight I ordered fish and chips for one - I got a good serve of beautifully crunchy chips and TWO big pieces of delicious premium

So disappointed, the fish and chips were really good previously, we have bought from here for many years. Tonight though another story Gold band snapper so overcooked and definately not fresh, portion size of the chips minuscule. Left a horrible after taste which is a usual indication the oil was old. You really need to raise your game!

Best fish omg the Spanish Mackerel is delicious. Then of course the Kiwi Jumbo oysters are my faves. Battered mussels are yum too. Customer service is great though the grumpy Asian guy could put on a smile for his customers even if it's a fake smile. All in all, one of the best fish n chips shops I've been to in Perth.

The worst fish and chips I ever had. As soon as I opened the paper wrapping the smell of old oil caught my nose. The taste was even worse.chips were rock solid and full of oil. Fish oily as. Potato scallop outside was ok but inside half cooked. Paid 44,29 with Uber eats for 2 and had to throw most of it away. Clearly I never going to order from there again.

First time we ordered from this place. Meal was spot on. Everything tasted fresh and well cooked. Considering how busy they were; even more impressed to receive the quality and accuracy. Asked for chicken salt.and we got it on all of our food! Which you'd think is an easy request but so many places can't get right. We ordered a fairly big combo for 5 and the price was great. Better than doing it through Uber Eats. Will definitely go again.

I thought I would try this place out on Wednesday 16th. In I went, selected Mackerel and chips from the huge white board, priced at $10.90. I ordered at the counter to a pleasant young lady and specified my choice with no salt or vinegar.
The young lady then said "that will be $11 please" I pointed at the board and told her that it was actually $10.90, only to be told, "that's a typo, it's $11" I told her that you cannot do that, but she insisted it was a typo.
I left the shop without fish and chips as I feel the owner has obviously chosen to arbitrarily hike prices and not be bothered to change the advertised prices at the point of sale. Lazy, deceitful, illegal, you decide. For me I will never go back as I do not like being tricked and have reported the incident to ACCC for action.
I have not heard good things about this place since the owners changed, I now see why.

Just pick up fish and chips, great service, the guys were very busy, sat in the car, within 5 min delivered to my car. The taste was fantastic, best fish and chips I have ever had in Oz. Very well done guys. Liam

Excellent Fish and Chips. I particularily love the crisp, fresh, hot, tasty chips. You can't beat them. This is the best fish and chips shop around!

Pre-ordered at 4: 30pm for pick up at 6: 30pm.get there and they hadn’t even started cooking it. They then try and charge me again even though I’d already paid. They requested my car rego and told me to wait in my car and they’d bring it out.instead they stand at the door of the shop yelling out the last 3 digits of my rego. We ordered 2 tartare sauces and didn’t get them, chips were oily and soggy and not seasoned, crab sticks were soggy and fish was the only decent (but still nothing to rave about) thing given to us. Would not recommend!
