COMO Shambhala Urban Escape reviews
18I would like to give a better rating but it was quite average overall. These are high-end prices so the experience should match. We paid in full, in advance but were charged an extra $100 at the end of the treatment saying their prices had gone up. No mention of it in the confirmation emails the day before or prior to going in to the treatment. Very bad form and incredulous business guys, you've lost at least 2 clients and gained a bad reputation with anyone we know, never again
Went to the spa for a milestone birthday present; I had really high hopes.
The decor is lovely, although it would be nice if there was a separate relaxation area post massage. There was a lot of noise and the rooms were not sound proof so you can hear loud talking which was not relaxing. The music was awful as well, with a mix of genres- some sounded like a child playing the recorder! The massage bed was a cheap fold out one; not what I would expect from a luxury hotel spa. Also, they counted the foot wash in the 90min massage which is ridiculous. The massage therapist was fantastic though, which saved them 2 stars.
What a special place. The staff are incredible, they look after you like family. Wonderful location in the jungle surrounded by nature and monkeys. Highly recommend
Absolutely amazing! 10/10. Everyone was so kind and lovely. The best experience I have ever had. Highly recommend.
The massage and facial were good. I really enjoyed both, though I have had better and worse.
The main problem here is the accompanying experience. You wait in a hallway, which is where you return post massage for tea. Its just not really conducive to relaxation pre or post massage. I felt rushed into the massage, I didn't even get to put a robe on. Once we were done I basically just wanted to get out of there so I could go and chill.
Not worth the money. In perth I'd go Bodhi J at the Westin over Shambhala any day.
Lovely setting and good massage. Expected more for the price. Whilst the massage itself was good the therapist was very ‘slap dash’ and careless ie making adjustments to the room when we had been invited in there, no foot bath prior to massage, very heavy handed and careless when repositioning me during the massage, repositioning the eye cover carelessly numerous times (a weight may have helped). Didn’t make for a very relaxing experience
I had a beautiful morning at Como Shambhala. My fiance got me a "mum to be" package. Was absolutely amazing. Yuki made me feel very relaxed and was great ️ thankyou, Francesca
The experience at Como wouldn’t be complete without trying the famous Como Shambhala Urban Escape. We opted for the signature COMO Shambhala Massage (90 minutes). It was such a relaxing massage that I fell asleep immediately. You can access the full wellness menu here. There are four treatment rooms, but only one room with a double bed. If you want to go for a couple massage, you should book the date in advance.
Gym and pool are located on a different floor to the spa, but it is part of the wellness facilities of the hotel. The swimming pool opens until late, and you need the staff to help you access the area after 9 PM. All equipment at the gym is supplied by Technogym, which targeted the area that you want to improve. It’s funny that I couldn’t stop looking at McDonald’s Barrack Street during my workout ️.
I had a really good experience at COMO Shambhala. The entire treatment was amazing. The therapist was very professional. Will definitely come again!
What a beautiful place. Amazing ambience, warm and welcoming staff. I had a great massage.peaceful, relaxing and will definitely come again.
I just enjoyed possibly the best massage and facial I've ever had. Everything was perfect, from the temperature of the room and the soft relaxing music playing at the right level, to the just right pressure of my massage and blissful Sodashi Pure Radiance facial. It's expensive, but worth it. Highly recommended for a self-care treat.
Went twice, amazing experience with skilled and dedicated staff. At the end of the massage, we had a paleo-protein cookie as well as a ginger & lemon tea - it is probably the best ginger tea I had so far!
I had a como shambhala massage. It was great. Yuki was my therapist, she was lovely. I recommend this spa.
It wasn’t as amazing as I thought it would be based on the pictures and amount of money. The massage was average. But it was a great experience and the staff were okay. I wouldn’t pay to have another massage here. The ambiance was amazing though.
One of the most beautiful spa's i have been to. Rooms are lovely and the massage treatment i had was amazing.
Lovely spa for a bit of rest and relaxation. The staff are very friendly and the rooms have a nice ambience. Would recommend.
Website suggests that the pool available for spa guest, which it isn't.
Husband booked me a massage here knowing I like to go for a swim before a massage, I found out in person it wasn't the case. Only available for hotel guest, unsure then why it mentions the pool then on the Shambhala website as available for spa guests
My friend and I came here for a girly day and what a lovely experience it was. We both had a 30minute massage followed by a one hour facial.
Yasuko was my therapist and I could not fault her at all. She explained how the treatment would go, along with the products she would be using. She also kept in mind that I’m almost 39weeks pregnant and made sure that I was comfortable throughout the treatment.
I would highly recommend this place along with Yasuko as a therapist. We will be back for sure!
