Nice place to have a beer, watch the game or just chill outside in the beer garden. Have been for work functions, family lunches and just for a quiet beer.

Kev the publican is a top bloke along with all the staff.

The food is really good and well priced and the place always has a great atmosphere and plenty of events.

Beautiful renovated pub with lovely outdoor area. Fabulous food options, try the steak sandwich with apple slaw and chimmichurri. Seriously AMAZING!

Not busy (other than a private function) but enjoyed the pub food some of the menu had a slight Korean twist- which was fun

Pretty standard venue with pub meals. Tiny dining room with open fireplace was like an oven - it was 17 degrees outside - no need for the fire.

Food was nothing special - my Panko crumbed Chicken Schnitzel was bland and burnt on one side. The tomato “sauce” with the Arancini was way too sweet. Great chips with a red wine jus was yum and probably the highlight of the meal…. Which it definitely shouldn’t have been. Will not be returning unfortunately.

Not the friendly service in the world - no welcome etc, our waitress aside. We had made a booking, which the seemed to have lost.

Probably a tad overpriced for what you get. $38 for a single lamb shank with mash…. No thanks.

Was clean and tidy staff were pleasant good range of beers, but once the cooks started cooking the place filled with the oily smoke smell extremely strong that I had to go outside but it was just as bad out the back.
Never ate their as I didn't want to stay too long. Otherwise, the smoke would have permeated my clothes, and that would have just ruined the rest of my day.

Meals are absolutely wonderful, presented beautifully and taste as good as they look.
Staff friendly and efficient, I'd highly recommend this place for your next meal.

Came here on a Friday night, wow the food was delicious. The service was amazing and quick too.i remember this pub from the 80s being a teenager, known as the skimpy pub back then lol …it’s still going especially with the upgrades it’s had

We were fortunate to go during a more quiet time on a Sunday, no screaming kids or overly loud music which is a nice change from most places on a weekend, definitely a place to have a conversation and catch up without having to shout. Service was amazing and staff were very polite and attentive. Unfortunately the food was a bit of a hit and miss. Jalapeno Poppers were very bland, no spice or heat that you come to expect from a chili pepper, they tasted like bland capsicum and the jalapenos were completely raw, perhaps it was to do with their enormous size as the bigger jalapenos get the less heat and flavour they produce. The steak sandwich was a winner and sweet potato wedges were devoured along with the dipping sauce. My chicken schnitzel was good but again lacking that flavour, mushroom sauce was the best I've ever had and the roast potatoes were perfectly cooked. Perhaps consider swapping the side salad for broccolini to match the dish better. Another suggestion would be bag hooks on the backs of the toilet door, people don't like having to put their bag on the toilet floor.

Did not know what to expect as I knew it had been 'boarded up' for a while. Didn't look much different from the outside. Massive change inside. Real style. Sweet potato wedges that were not a frozen product! Brilliant, not crisp but I loved them, sauce obviously not from a jar, non of your sweet chilli sour cream or tomato sauce (yawn). Went back for lunch and I don't even usually have lunch, vegetable curry.not a huge amount but quality and back to work so again this is the way to go. Don't change the chef or staff or the outside of building, it's got charm

Had lunch today at The Commercial Bar & Kitchen in Midland. Wow what a wonderful surprise. A beautiful bar and amazing kitchen.
The pub was revamped last May and has a nice welcoming feel, while keeping its old charm. They have done a great job with the renovations. There is a lovely bar area, separate dining room and spacious bar garden/ gazebo area.
The staff are friendly and very accommodating.
We ordered market fish of the day which was Cajun snapper fillets served with sweet potato wedges, corn and coleslaw, BBQ
Pork ribs and the special of the day for $20 which was crispy chicken wings. We also had creme brulee and sticky date pudding for dessert. The meals came out quickly and were delicious. Service was excellent and the we were all very happy with the food serving sizes. There's a great selection of beers on tap and other beverages. This place is a real hidden gem in Midland. There is plenty of parking at the back of the hotel as well as street parking. Nice that the great refurbished vibe of the place matched the food and service! Will definitely be going back!

Such a great place - I love renovated old pubs and great pub food, the publican is a great guy and so are all the staff. Great local.

Have been to this place a few times now.
The pub itself has been revamped and has a real welcoming feel to while keeping its old charm.
The staff are friendly and very accommodating. Have always been welcomed in with a "hello" and a smile.
They have a good range of drinks.something for everyone.
Recently they have had a change to the menu and it didn't go unnoticed. You cannot go past their poppers or the sticky wings! Always a favourite with us.
The main meals themselves are a good serve and have never disappointed.
Overall, great place to stop for a drink and a meal. Small grassed area for the kids to have a stretch from sitting.
Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

After work send off for a co-worker and this place was nice and quiet. It was very clean and tidy with a nice outdoor area and the servings were generous.

The restoration is very good, people are friendly, service excellent. Completely transformed the venue.

Amazing food. Can't wait to go back. Very fresh. Tasted like it was all made in house.

Great place to eat or go for a drink, glad we gave it a go, the food was fabulous. We.had pork belly, Cajun snapper and chicken snitzell all dishes were with fresh veggies or good size salad, great tasting and crisp crackling. Compared to other pubs in the area their pub food is the best by far can't wait to try out more things on the menu.
