City of Mandurah - Lakelands Library and Community Centre reviews
8Nice place to write my journal. At times there are some inconsiderate mom's with non stop crying babies with no intention to pacify them. Why come to the library?
Went to an event at the Lakelands library today to hear an up and coming WA author speak about his book. Yuot A. Alaak spoke about his book Father of the Lost Boys and his experience as 9 yo escaping from the war in Sudan. An amazing man with an inspiring story. Thanks Charmaine, Jo and all at Lakelands library for the work to set up the event and provide us all with lunch as well! Such a great experience, thanks.
Better than I thought it was going to be, the staff helped me print out some pages from one of their computers without any drama. It's one of the smallest libraries in the local area but it's quiet and modern, due to it's location parking can be a hassle but there's usually space on the corner of Lake Valley drive to park.
I was a member of this library and after several months of use; I received an e-mail from them to say my membership had expired and for me to call at the library. When I didn't dr4op everything and race to see them, I received a further e-mail telling me of my membership expiring.
I then attended and was greeted by a male employee who didn't ask me if I damaged a book I borrowed but told me that I had. Full stop.it was me (which it wasn't).
He of an age barely out of high school berated me (I am a senior citizen) in the likes of a school headmaster chastising a young student. He told me I was receiving a warning, but any further breaches would result in a fine. He showed me the damage, and it was a stain on a page that wasn't done by me as I only read in bed at night.and was not responsible for a red liquid stain on one page.
To tell blatant lies in the e-mails (Telling me my membership had expired) is something management should look at. The behaviour of the person lecturing me was puerile, to say the least. I no longer use the library because of this incident.
A great space, very family friendly. Will be even better once Covid restrictions are lifted and all the kids activities like Lego Club can start up again.
Staff here are really lovely and especially kind to kids. They always have crafts and time to help you.
Absolutely stunning Library.
Clean and neat. The friendly staff are always there to help.
Fantastic range of DVDs and books.if they haven't got what you're looking for they have 2 other Local Libraries to source from.
Free WiFi and great place to study.
Kid friendly.
I use the computer here and staff are always helpful. They are always happy to extend my time if no one else has booked. Beautiful quiet library with great service
