City Farmers / Petbarn Spearwood

Crickets from here are ALWAYS dead no matter when you go. The few that are still alive are WAY too big for my frog.

Friendly helpful approachable staff that made me feel comfortable with the decision made regarding the purchase I chose

This Petbarn is basically the only place I go to buy my furry baby's treat and sometimes food when we ran out (we normally ordered online). The ambient is nice, tidy, AND dog-friendly. Yes, you can bring your dog to shop there with you.:) The store is quite big which reflects multiple alternative products you wish to purchase.

I went there yesterday to buy a plant for my partner's aquarium (well, it is actually just a little fish tank but let's go with an aquarium to boost his ego). I was greeted and served by this friendly and knowledgeable staff named Brooke (her pet's name is Ruby.in case any relevant-authority body can see this review and acknowledge her work ethic). She was very pleasant to speak to. She also helps educate me to choose the right fish for the current tank.opss aquarium.

Other staffs are very friendly too. There was one time, a while ago, I purchased a 12 kgs bag of dog dry food. This easygoing man (I knew later he is, in fact, a manager as well as a fish man (he is a fish expert, according to Brooke) offered to help carry the food to my car. He popped the 12 kgs bag on one shoulder and followed me as if he was carrying a big pillow.

They also sell a wide range of animal enrichment- such as chicken house etc.

In summary, I highly recommend you go there. It is fantastic to be assisted by people who share the same love of animals like you do.

Staff were incredibly helpful and kind, went out of their way to assist me with picking new food for my cat. If I could give them more stars I would.

Fabulous helpful and happy staff members. Willing to answer questions and not in a rushed way. It was a Saturday so I’m guessing they were casuals…but what a lovely, knowledgeable team you have here at the Spearwood store! Am doing a puppy school there for my Kelpie/Johnson’s Bulldog mix, Daisy, and am looking forward to saying hi to your staff each week.

Jess who works here was super helpful and did everything with a smile and cheerful attitude. So refreshing to deal with a customer service person like this.

Went to get aquarium Stability solution. I am a man and obviously couldn't find it by myself although everything is clearly marked and set out. I hesitated asking for assistance, but a staff member was there to help me. We laughed about the product. Went to the checkout and had another laugh. Awesome and super helpful staff. It was so funny.

Reasonable price tidy & clean Sea food counter fresh fish on sale fabulous customer service.

The two staff were very helpful in putting together a bed for my dog, so appreciated their help.

Can you please change your operating times, closed at 6pm whent it states it's open until 7pm on a Wednesday

Bought Savour Life dog food 6 weeks ago and the staff member gave me a discount when I asked if they could match the Pet Circle price.
Went in again today and a different staff member said they couldn’t do it. Looks like Pet Circle gets the business then.

Opening Times incorrect. Drove there for nothing. Said it closes at 7pm but it was closed at 6.20pm

Staff at this particular City Farmers have insufficient product knowledge. They do not do a good job of restocking stock and often things that are in the back, will not be on the shelves available to customers as they should be. Had a recent encounter with a specific male member of staff who had a bad attitude and was unapologetic for the stock not being in it’s appropriate place thus creating a negative outlook for me on the whole store. I would rather drive 20 minutes to the City Farmers in South Street. Perhaps they need staff retraining.

Just rung to ask about a hydrometer (salt water tester) and the chick told me City farmers stocks nothing to go with salt water tanks. How funny considering I just set up a salt water tank with majority of stuff from them. Great product knowledge.

Very knowledgeable and courteous staff. Excellent range and prices. Customer loyalty program. Will price match online sales if you ask nicely
