Disappointing experience. I booked into Cinco as a treat, expecting a higher level of service from a ‘boutique’ hair salon that charges $110 for a cut and blow dry. Unfortunately this was not the case. I barely got a hello before being directed to a chair. I had a quick chat with the young lady who was to cut my hair, where she seemed more interested in adding a treatment to my service than what I actually wanted done with my hair. The brief scalp massage during the wash/treatment was not particularly nice, and the cut itself took less than 10 minutes, where at times the stylist looked a little unsure about what she was doing! I opted to have a wave put through my hair after the blow dry just to get a little value for money! Not once did I get offered a drink, the cut was quite a bit shorter than I requested, and most of the stylists looked much too young to have the experience you’d expect when paying these prices. I’ve had much better service and cuts from more reasonably priced salons, so I won’t be going back to Cinco.

This was the first time getting my hair done at Cinco. I normally visit a salon in Perth, however my parents live locally and was down for the school holidays and I had heard good things. I am 6 weeks out from my wedding and went in a week earlier to ask if I could book in for an all over colour and a cut and it was booked in for the week after.

Unfortunately my salon experience was far from the rave reviews I had heard. In the salons defence I was running 10 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances as I was travelling down from Perth, however I did contact the salon prior to my appointment to let them know how sorry I was that I would be a little late. When I arrived at the salon I was not warmly greeted and taken straight to a chair. The hairdresser who did my hair was very unfriendly and it felt like I was a burden on her time. I spoke to her about the colour I wanted and I don’t think she listened at all. I had a junior wash my hair and do a treatment which was good - and the scalp massage was a nice touch. The hairdresser blow dried my hair and took me to the counter to pay and the total was $230 (after I had paid a $100 deposit). I asked if I had a haircut booked and she looked at me and was like “oh yeah I can cut it if you want”. I received a trim which took a total of 3 minutes to which I paid $110 for. The colour is fine - a little darker than I wanted originally but I didn’t feel confident enough to speak up after the frosty treatment I received. My hair feels really healthy after the treatment but I was so disappointed in the customer service I received after paying $330. Maybe it’s because I’m not a regular local client but I won’t be coming back.

Great massage, the meet & greet by my 'senior' was non-existent, and pre style chat was lacking any effort, which immediately had me concerned. The cut was ok. A very, very young team, prices are quite high, it seems to be the way in this area.

12/10 for these girls! The whole experience was to die for, the laughs and flow of conversation dispute it being their last appointment made me feel right at home. Lily was extremely welcoming and experienced in her field! Definitely coming back for another little self-care solo date night. X

The outcome looked good at first. But my hair was very dry after and when they washed and combed my hair they pulled out several hairs and it hurt a lot - never had it in another salon like this.

Unprofessional owner and bad colour.
I have been visiting the salon for the past year and have had great, positive experiences with all the staff especially Rhianna and Lily, very professional and I can say that my colour was looking the best it’s been since moving to the southwest over 6 years ago. I’ve spent thousands of dollars at this business on products and treatment and referred family and friends here.
Last Thursday I couldn’t get in to see my usual stylist so I booked with Kendall instead, the salon owner. She asked me what I was booked in for and I said the usual treatment as I have been really happy with how things are going, I let her know that I had to leave by 2pm. She went to mix up the colour and my usual stylist advised Kendall that I only have 20minutes processing time as my hair grabs colour really quickly. Kendall acknowledged this and after 20minutes decided to leave the colour on for another 20mintues, double my usual time. She didn’t discuss this with me or explain to me why she had decided to change the processing time from my usual appointment. During the remaining time I began to feel a burning/tingling sensation on my scalp where the foils were and I had started running out of time form toner as I had to leave by 2pm. I paid $259.00 and had to rush out with wet and tangled hair. I called the salon to let them know I wasn’t happy with the colour, being over processed and running out of time to sit for a 15-minute toner, Kendall said I can buy a $45.00 at home maintenance toner to use. After using this product my hair then turned a copper/orange colour. I booked in to see Kendall the next day and she let me know she can put another colour over it, telling me that it was my fault the colour was like this because I had to leave early, she also blamed her senior stylist, stating that she just followed her notes from my previous visit… (the visit she admitted had no notes recorded). When I asked Kendall why she changed my processing time for my appointment when I had been happy with my previous visits, she couldn’t give me an answer. When I then asked Kendall why she didn’t discuss or explain this change to me, she couldn’t answer. Kendall became agitated at my questioning her treatment and then told me she would no longer be fixing my colour and asked me to leave, she let me know twice that she would give me a full refund and asked for my credit card details. I was upset that she wouldn’t be fixing the colour and I let her know that I would be leaving a review about this experience (as the salon requests client reviews via text message) when I went to give Kendall my card details for the refund, she then told me she would no longer be giving me a refund as I threatened her business (by way of a bad review) and made her feel like she wasn’t good at her job. I left the salon in tears with my 7month old baby and Kendall followed me out on to the sidewalk.

The girls at Cinco are truly the best in the biz. I have been a loyal client of theirs for a few years now and wouldn’t trust anyone else with my blonde. Always doing such a natural technique meaning I rarely have to maintain it. Visiting the salon is such a personalised experience and the girl’s attention to detail is unmatched. Thank you for making my hair feel silky soft and refreshed each time x
