Cili Padi Catering by Aunty Murni reviews
13Went to the Medeka food fair in Subi over the weekend.we were excited to see chilli padi catering as we heard great things about them. I bought 4 fried chicken thighs (ayam goreng). I was told they were $8 for two but a second person charged me $10 for two as they claimed boneless cost more.in all I paid $20 for 4x. These were freshly cooked and Piping hot and smelt great.they were placed in a paper bag then a plastic bag.being so hot, they disintegrated the paper and all was soggy in the end.when I reheated them at home, they were extremely salty and inedible. I was not happy with spending $20 for 4 small chicken pieces which were clearly over Salted.such a disappointment.
Wow, honestly the most authentic and yummy Malaysian dishes I’ve tasted in Perth (and I’ve had plenty). Highly recommend their Ayam Masak Merah.
Absolutely the best nasi lemak in Perth. Heck, even compared in Malaysia, this is in the top rank too. Drove 35 mins for this with no regret.
Had the nasi kerabu here. The flavours absolutely explode in your mouth. Just fantastic. Service is friendly, fast and accommodating. Prices are reasonable.
It was lovely being able to practice my Bahasa Melayu with Aunty Muni & crew. Felt like I was back home in Malaysia with the yummy authentic food & language. Felt like I was eating in the East Coast of Malaysia with the yummy food on offer. Don’t just take my word for it, you have to try it for yourself! Make sure you checkout their Facebook page for opening hours & menu on rotation.
Was not impressed that the description on menu was just in Malay. The staff asked us to sit down when we were lining up while she was attending other existing customers and when it’s supposed to be our turn, she served others that got there after us. Not only that, new customers just cuts the line, when we’ve already been waiting for 30 mins. We left since we couldn’t get our orders. It’s just plain rude and horrible. Definitely never recommending this place.
Though Nasi Kerabu was sold out at the time, the Nasi Lemak was well received with authentic flavours. Teh Tarik really did hit the spot. The people who run this are so friendly, especially the uncle! Have to come back and try other dishes.
(Took one star as one of the mains was not as warm as it should be)
The fish curry was amazing and true to the flavours of Malaysia. Definitely recommend the food here, if you want an authentic Malay style curry. However I took one star off because at the time of writing 2 out of 4 staff inside the store were not wearing their mask and I saw one staff licking curry that over spilled on the take away bag while wrapping it up.
The very best of Authentic malay cuisine! Highly recommended and Aunty Murni is very friendly and kind. Thank you
Very good and authentic Malaysian nasi lemak and nasi kerabu here! Be there early as it gets crowded during lunch!
Oh my goodness, I don't know why this place doesn't haven't now reviews. This is such an amazing hidden little spot. The food is very reasonable and much cheaper than other places. We came here and got a great breakfast. If you want Nasi kerabu in Perth this is the place to be. The restaurant gets quite busy but the service is very friendly. Definitely coming back here:)
The only place to get Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik in Perth. Operating only on Friday nights at The Sarapan. The Iced Lemon Tea and Sirap Bandung are perfectly made; refreshing and delicious.
Update: Unfortunately, Aunty Muni is no longer operating at The Sarapan.
Great pop-up cafe that's currently open on Friday nights (in the same location as The Sarapan). Their main special is the Nasi Kerabu - blue rice with chicken, salted egg, fish crackers, and salad.they do have other rotating specials too, along with their "static" menu.
