Charcoal and Chai

The waiting time was too long.
The rice was cold.
The portion of food changed each time.
The wings was not cooked properly.
The price is too high for quality and service.

I ordered the chicken with flatbread and saffron rice. I wasn't given any chicken and the rice and flatbread was ice cold. My fault for not checking the bag when they handed it to me I guess.

This was ordered at 8: 20 on Sunday the 12/11/2023. I sat around till 9 when the place closed waiting on them to make it which is also ridiculous.

I drive past this place all the time and finally decided to give it a try. The food was phenomenal and exceeded expectations. The golden chicken was beautifully marinated and the sumac chips were amazing.

I'll definitely be back again soon, and would highly recommend this place to everyone)

Enjoyed trying Persian food for the first time! I had the chicken kebab and my husband had the mix which included chicken and lamb kebab.
I was never a fan of lamb but when I tried a portion from my husbands plate, I was blown away with the spices and flavour. It it didn't taste gamey at all.

The chef / owner was very friendly and recommended me to try the Rose and Cardomin tea with my baklava, absolutely delicious!
Will definitely be back to try other delicacy as I'm now a fan of Persian cuisine

Oh, butter on rice is AMAZING

Went there for a "Persian" afternoon tea to check the resteraunt prior to inviting guests for a full meal. Not impressed, no baklava, the other sweets were not supplied correct to our order. I'll give this one a miss and look for a genuine Persian experience elsewhere. The only positive note, despite the road noise, the alfresco tables were a nice experience for the afternoon tea

Terrific place, the food and tea was delicious and authentic. 10/10 recommend to anyone who wants to try authentic persian food.

Served RAW chicken.
I came to this restaurant after moving to Perth for charcoal chicken, which i had as a takeaway. After getting home i realised that the chicken is not cooled and is raw inside and it only looked cooked from the outside. I contacted the restaurant straight away and was told that we are closing now come tomorrow to the store. When i went to the store, no apologies at all, they told me that they will make another chicken for me. I asked for a refund as i did not want to have a bad experience again and they only offered a 50% refund. This is poor customer service and no sense of understanding towards their customers. I dont recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Went into Charcoal and Chai today, and I was blown away at how amazingly tasty the grilled chicken was! The lamb cutlets were sooo juicy and tender! I was a bit skeptical when ordering, boy was I wrong! Amazing job guys! Thank you for the delicious meal my sisters and I enjoyed it!

Best Persian food in the whole of Perth. Kebabs cooked to perfection. There is a distinct special taste to them. Definitely recommend.

Average Persian food. Would’ve been great if they offered some appetisers in the menu. The ventilation above the grill isn’t as affective as it should be which smokes up the restaurant. Left smelling as if I attended a bbq.

Food looks tasty and colourful, but tastes surprisingly plainish. Especially Persian rice was very disappointing.

Found out tonight new owners. I wouldn't have guessed as the food is still as good as before. Very tasty.

I always enjoy the delicious fresh food and relaxed atmosphere. New owners, food still the same. Highly recommended

Are the reviews on this website serious or is some related party sitting at a computer lying about this restaurant:
1) we ordered Uber eats and only received half our order
2) when we called back the hostess did not answer the phone twice
3) finally when she picked up she was rude and blamed the poor Uber driver for not picking up the bag when he already told me the lady only handed him one bag
4) no effort to apologise or take accountability on the restaurants behalf and made no effort to fix our situation

In the current environment when small businesses are struggling for market share I am surprised that this one does not make more of an effort.

Lamb cutlets and kebabs to die for! The place might not be big and flashy but doesn't need to be when the food is this good.

Golden Chicken and kebab kobideh.kobideh is what I love the most! Staff are really friendly. Service is really good. Great spot for the locals.

So delicious. The perfect place for me and my partner's anniversary. The beef and the chicken were perfect, and Persian sweets were so good!
