champions lake fish and chips

My favourite fish n chip shop, I would love if it was open more often and possibly earlier during the weekend, i have asked for a job there also as I have ran a fish chip shop myself but am not sure who the owner is, I'll be happy to help out so yous can be open more often

First time at this fish and chip shop.it won't be the last! We had the seafood basket and an extra piece of fish.very happy with it. Shop was clean and staff friendly. Lots of customers so it must be good.

Was not open at all last night when it was meant to be open at 5pm sign was put up to say why they were closed not very happy with this other than that there food is very much good

Always a good feed here, old school tasting flake, thun potato cakes, dim sims are dam tasty too. The staff are very polite and nice to deal with and even though this shop is hidden away its worth walling around to find it.

Last time I ate here my fish was a bit too moist, maybe still slightly frozen or cold when thorwn in the deep frier, it made the inside of the batter to moist to hold together, but I can't falut them just once.

Disappointed. Normally excellent quality but tonight, fish was undercooked, potato scallops were under cooked, as was the cheese sausage. Chips were nice though.

We tried you guys for the first time tonight, will definitely be back. Very nice, not greasy at all and everything was tender and moist on the inside, crispy on the outside. Reasonably priced and very good servings.

I went to pick up my order I Carry a heat bag cause I don't like cold food when I get home. I went to put on counter to load my food. She said don't put on counter. So I had to load my food in midair into my bag cause I don't want my bag touching the ground that Carry's my food. She was so rude expect me to load my food on the ground discussing. We have watched with great disappointment the decline in the quality of their products. Particularly over the past few months. Change of staff or ownership is perhaps to blame? The "amazing chips" are barely cooked and despite repeated requests to cook them longer this never happens. Sometimes the batter on our fish is still wet underneath as it hasn't been cooked long enough. Possible health concerns here. The potato scallops are usually overcooked and so hard you can't eat them. Our dogs love them, they think they're pig ears. True. We are also repeatedly asking for plenty of chicken salt. Never happens. On a couple of occasions, there had been absolutely no salt whatsover.
I say the owners should stop hiding behind the wall and return to the more accountable and customer friendly manner of cooking at the front of the shop.
I really don't know why I even bother with this review. I mean, if they blantantly ignore your requests and/or feedback in person, why would they bother with an online one? Go figure.

Used my last $40 to order online to feed my family and they took my money but cancelled the order because they were "too busy".

I order from these guys all the time & can never find fault with anything
Amazing chips & the hake is to die for! The best I have found, keep up the amazing job!

Awesome fish and chips at great prices. Definitely get the extra crunchy chips.

Have eaten here and given them plenty of chances, food is shoddy and that's me being nice. Don't go there. You have been warned.

Best fish & chips.looking at the place and where it's located you would be forgiven for not having much hope but once you've been here you'll keep coming back that's for sure.

Highly rate these guys. Chips are amazing and the snapper is always cooked to perfection. Had been going elsewhere for 2yrs but these guys are now my 100% choice and much closer to home.

This is a nice little fish and chip shop, and one of the best for the area. The food wasn't greasy and there was enough chips. We ordered pluto pups as well and they were delicious. Will order fish and chips from here again.

Soggy batter. Uncooked chips. Not enough food to feed a family compared to same price from better local places. Wish we had starved rather than experiencing this. Spare yourselves.

Loved this place but last night even kids complained chips were not great and the fish was small and greasy. Threw most of it out, hope this is a once off and new owners will get alot better.
