I have supported this store since it's opening. Got on fantastic with all the staff and the Manager. I walked in bought two bottles of bubbly showed my Exemption from 2nd Astra Zeneca on my phone but got questioned. I then showed my hard copy. I got questioned why I had an exemption and I explained that Astra Zeneca is supposed to be 12 weeks apart and the Doctors at the Government gave me a short exemption only for a few weeks (cause of my age it is not advised to get 2nd dose after 4 weeks). Manageress told me this was false and it was 3 weeks between the Astra Jabs not 12 weeks as stated. Manageress then said I looked nervous so why even bother, my forms were fake so asked to see the appointment of my first jab which I found on my phone but the Manageress said "How do I know you turned up? "" So every avenue I tried I was told I was stretching the truth They took their wine back told me to move out of the way of the paying customers and told to come back when I could prove the forms were not fake. I told them I was offended terribly and would never return. I understood they had to check but after 15 years or so of supporting the store being called a liar was so upsetting. I have sent 4 emails to them direct from the government covid department proving I told the whole truth but I have not received an apology. I loved this store and the staff so it just shows what pressure the staff and Management are under. All the same after I sent the proof I am very very surprised I have not received an apology

Always an absolute pleasure coming here, staff are very friendly and easy to talk to about alcohol related questions. Prices are reasonable, but they sometimes have excellent discounts on items. Small store lots of stock so try not to knock anything off the shelves as you walk between aisles!
