Food was half cold and veggies un cooked
New Owners are goin to destroy this lovey cafe.
We always come here as a group for lunch.
Looking else where for lunch.
Ive been here a few times, but today I would have to say I am disappointed to say the least, the waitresses had sour faces not happy faces. We ordered steak & chips sandwich/roll in which the deep fryer wasn't working, so no chips, but they compensated with extra salad or vegies. We asked for extra salad, in which they gave us both salad and vegies. The vegies were under cooked, you had to saw through it instead of slice, the steak was cold and half cooked. Even mentioning this to the owner, he did nothing.
So disappointed this time, to the point, I don't know if I want to come back again
A great casual Italian restaurant with an extensive menu to suit everyone. However, I would recommend avoiding the the Fish of the Day, for what you get at $48, it just ain't worth it. Both indoor and outdoor seating available.
Finally made it to Catalano's for a try! And my friend and I were in the mood for pizzas, that's what we went for. And the pizzas did not disappoint! They're tasty and portioned generously. We had to take some home as we couldn't finish them. I think the crust could be a little thinner, but this is my preference whenever I indulge woodfire pizza.
The service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant is quite large, and with a few staff around, we did have to make sure we caught their attention. It was Friday lunch when we went there, and the place was relatively busy, but I didn't think you need to reserve. There was still plenty of tables to go around. Parents with pram: I don't think you'll have any issues taking your littlies in. The restaurant is pretty well spaced.
When we entered Catalano's, we got the Italian flare, but just enough. We weren't transported to Italy, but the ambiance was close enough.
There are plenty of dishes to choose from the menu. Well-priced for the area. You'll also see a great selection of dessert and coffees. But we were stuffed, so there was nothing sweet for us. Plenty of wine to select from, too, but we had to go back to work, so.
Would I go back? Maybe. In the area, they're competing with many other shops offering interesting fusion dishes or other authentic food from different countries. Choices are.too many!
My recommendation is: go to Catalano if you're craving for that wholesome, home-made-feel Italian dishes. For days, you feel a little less adventurous. They won't disappoint!
We ordered garlic bread, Italian sausage with black olives, and spinach salad with chicken.
Great quality and portion.
We ended up taking away most of the Italian sausage and olive.
The garlic bread was soooo gooood
Catalanos is one of my fav Italian Restaurants. They have been there for years. They iconic italian family attitude to food and service shows through. The food is always impressive and the service is always friendly and professional. My favourite is the seafood platter - that plus a glass of white wine and a salad. The wood fired pizzas are authentic and delish - OMG where do they get the amazing prawns from. And there are the Cannoli.
Great food, great chilli mussels. Service was just okay. Was waiting to pay for a while as they are? Short staffed? Atmosphere was okay, staff/? Chef was sitting next table to ours in the uniform
Saturday is like a religious outing for me to have a Beautiful Breakfast at Catalano's and brush up on my Italian, the owner and staff always there for any of your eccentric desire
Really good food! Chili mussels were some of the best we've had.
However I have given 4 stars instead of 5 as the pasta dish I ordered with gluten free penne had some bits of other pasta in it (fettuccine and spaghetti) which isn't gluten free. This is an issue for people with coeliac disease as even a little bit of gluten can make us have a flare up.
Otherwise a really good place to eat.
Delicious homemade gnocchi marinara followed by delectable rhubarb tart washed down with the best flat white coffee I've had in days. Service was efficient and very friendly. We're going back soon.
Went for breakfast this morning. All the food and drinks were absolutely amazing. Never had a bad experience here.
An absolute must for every family!
'L'antica Trattoria" would do well to visit this spectacularly managed restaraunt and experience actual customer service and hospitality -
The food and service is magnificent here EVERYTIME - the wait staff are a class above" EVERYTIME.
Thankyou Catalanos.
Wonderful service, food and atmosphere! We love going here for a meal. Big servings, tasty food, quality seafood and just overall a great experience. Always a go to place that doesn’t disappoint!
The food was outstanding. My husband called it the best pasta he ever had. Service was great, waitresses were very friendly.
I am an world renown pasta reviewer and let me just say this… The carbonara was soo bad that I was stuck in the toilet for the whole Christmas holidays. And one last cherry on top, my uncle Tommy had a stroke and the cruel horrible staff did jack all! Guys please never visit this joke of a establishment.
Food was okay but weird comments thrown at us by the male staff there towards my friends and I, we are all underage.
Beautiful restaurant friendly staff and delicious menu. I had the veal masarla and they didn't disappoint finished my plate which was surprising as they are generous with their portions. Will definitely visit again
The food, atmosphere and service was fantastic! I will definitely eat here again! Double win, really great!
This saggy bigmouth guy left my underaged friends and i creepy comments and a salty, overpriced pizza
so no lol
that's the face i made when we heard the comment
I love this restaurant. The food is authentic Italian. Generous meals, delicious flavours, casual atmosphere and friendly service make Catalano's a fantastic experience.
