I can see why other reviews cite issues regarding “haircut lingo”, however after struggling to explain how short I actually wanted my hair he got going, then afterwards explained what he’d done for future reference, so I think if you take it in your stride then it’s ok. I also found him to be quite direct but otherwise well meaning. Overall got a decent haircut. My main quibble would be that the shop could do with sprucing up.

Cant believe the hairdressing industry in Australia would hire someone disrespectful and so lacking of dignity as a human being. This kind of behavior can not be tolerated here. Please review your employee requirement standards and their background check if you wish your business to go far

Best haircut I’ve had had, look no further because this will be my new go to local. Had a great yarn with Nick and gave me excellent advice on curly hair. Awesome stuff guys

Friendly staff, great for yak about the footy and what's happening about the place, plus they specialise in traditional men's haircut. Good on yer fellas!

If you're looking for a top haircut for the unreal price of 25 bucks look no further. Wouldn't let anyone near my hair apart from Carl since coming here, great guy and even greater haircutter.

Been going there intermittently for 22 years. Walked out of there today after abusive Barber, not Carl, made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I think he was under the influence of something. Loud, aggressive, fidgety and impolite.

I was in the neighborhood for a dentist appointment and my son needed a haircut. He's 8 and for personal reasons extremely sensitive with cutting his hair. I explained the guy exactly what we wanted and because he didn't agree with our choice he went on and on about how he knew better. He ended up doing with my son's hair whatever he felt like, made my son cry and accused me of over protecting him. He made us feel so unconfortable that my son didn't even want to talk to this person at the end. You would think he would at some point realize and apologize for the worse service we've ever had, instead he adviced me to "teach the kid some communication skills".
Place is cheap, skills average and personnel disrespectful. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Worst haircut I've ever had and quite sure that two of the barbers were off their heads. My clown was trying to tell me that gay people have a disease. Absolute disgrace. I feel sorry for Carl the owner who wasn't there to see it. Don't take your kids anywhere near it

My dad went here when he was a kid and got his hair cut by Carl, now my brother and I get our hair cut by Carl 20 years later, great place.

No frills, no appointments, great value for money and one of the last final frontiers catering generally for men but they are also skilled in women's hair cutting. Women are more than welcome to have their hair cut at Carls. My father has had his hair cut exclusively by Carl since the 70's, and my two sons now have their hair cut by Jonathan. You're always welcome with a smile and a bit of banter from the boys. I highly recommend Carl's Continental Barber Shop in Swanbourne.

Parents beware. The babar had inappropriate conversations about prostitution during the haircut with my 16yr old son. I cannot understand why there is no phone number to contact the owner of the salon.

Rude and arrogant. If you're not verse in mens haircut lingo and want to go there for a simple haircut you'll be treated like a fool. Not impressed. The guy who cut mine was nice enough and did a decent job but the guy with ponytail needs a lesson in politeness and minding his own business. If you're not happy with the end result and want something fixed.be prepared to either pay for it or be belittled in front of other customers. Total disrespect for the customer.wont be recommending them to anyone.
