Capel Tavern reviews
31 I was staying locally. The pub had a pasta and pizza night. I had one of the 3 pastas on for the night. The cook is Italian so the pasta was perfect.
The bar staff were friendly.
I was sitting outside and they came out and asked if I would like another drink.
Nice to see they were attentive.
The dining area is spacious and well presented.
Limited days for the kitchen to be open.
Best check if de iding to go for a meal.
We had dinner last night. Food was very good. Wine choice is limited and could be improved.
Food was so much better than last visit service was lovely maybe a bit slow but wasn't worried about that
Went there for mother's Day to find the kitchen was closed, had a game or two of pool, sat outside in sun. Found it clean.
Great meals fantastic atmosphere. Going back in time to what a pub was
Well done crew.
A typical country pub. Friendly staff and a nice beer garden. The only downside is the traffic is very loud outside.
I came down from Bunbury to treat myself tonight in Capel for dinner, I was a first time customer. The ladies at the bar were friendly but the lady taking menu orders had no idea what she was selling nor the quality claiming she hasn't tried it. It took 25mins for my schnitzel to come out. My dinner wasn't enjoyable. The schnitzel was overcooked and the sauce was overpowering. The chips according to the menu, were supposed to be hand cut, but they were store bought and much worse, they were soggy and bland. The salad was also bland. When it came to my dessert, sticky date pudding and a serve of icecream, I was beyond disappointed! I received a dried out muffin with icecream. Even with it sitting there absorbing the liquid while I ate my dinner, I was still unable to cut through to the bottom with my spoon, I had to use a knife. The soft interior was like a rubber sponge. When I showed the staff, there was no apology, nor acknowledgement that this was unedible. She offered to get the chef to have a look, how humiliating and confrontational, not for me thanks. I left and never intend on returning.
If you like your meal served by a female dressed in grubby black T shirt, black footie shorts and thongs it's all good.
Salad was chopped by a kindy child, tiny pieces, the pie is a stew in a bowl with a separate cooked piece of pastry on top.
Unless your starving give it a miss.

Friendly staff/owners. Went above and beyond to help us out with accommodation and rooms, after hours.
Friendly staff, fresh, comfortable and well priced rooms. If you're looking for a bed for a night or 2 you won't be disappointed.
This time we went for the roast night. Ok value for kids not so much for the adults. Processed chicken pkt mixed vegetables under cooked airfried? Potatos, beef was real but tough. Usually food is better. Always friendly
Love this place, it still has the country pub feel to it with great service and an excellent publican who cares for his patrons.
Really nice little pub, with a good restaraunt, public sports bar and friendly staff and locals. Its actually easy to miss due to where its in Capel. But worth a quick beer, lunch or dinner.
Went there the other night for dinner chicken parmigiana was basically a piece of chicken with nothing on it its easy to make it but no thought or presentation into it its a let down
Can't praise it enough, had my daughter's wedding reception there absolutely fantastic, thank you,
Very friendly staff. Great service and nice food. Definetly recommend The Capel Tavern Restaurant.
Excellent country pub food, generous portions, well seasoned, correctly cooked steak, ordinary frozen mixed veg - but cooked with imagination, the touch of rosemary and butter was a nice touch. Friendly staff, prompt service and a couple of well kept beers. 450g T-bone for $27 (?) - good pricing too.
I have only been there a couple of times.they make you feel welcome and relaxed. I have heard the meals are very good.so I am going for a meal on Sunday.so I will keep you informed
Friendly efficient staff, who were happy to answer questions about local attractions. Quality country sized serving for lunch in a very relaxed atmosphere. Worth a visit.
