Definitely a must visit in Margaret River, you get to try 6 really good wines among their selection for a fair $15. Staff is also really nice and knowledgeable, shout out to Marie who assisted us.

Very friendly staff, gorgeous wines, but would think if you are paying $15 for a tasting, which I don’t see an issue with but would expect it to come off if you purchase bottles of wine.

I booked a Behind the Scenes Tour, with food and wine matching. What a treat it was! One of the best experiences I had on my trip to WA. Will be back!

This winery is very pretty and clean. The staff was knowledgeable.
But their wines were not that great. It was more pricier than another winery but another one’s wines were better than this.

And it was busy so they didn’t remember what kind of wine we tried and if we don’t ask them any question, they will just tell you about the wines you chose and then leave

We chose Cape Mentelle as it was on our way to Prevelly. Neither myself or my partner are what you'd call wine connoisseurs, but we felt like visiting a winery as part of our Margaret River experience. We opted to taste 6 different wines, and had a relatively nice experience on the day.
On our departure we chose to buy a bottle of wine, and off we went. I guess the biggest disappointment once we'd left the winery, was our agreement that during our wine tasting experience, we both felt our host had made a slightly judgemental comment about where one of us had originally lived growing up. Both of us noticed it, and we were both left feeling a little awkward and uncomfortable, albeit
momentarily. A minor detail, and one which our host may not have even been aware of at the time, but disappointing nonetheless. On our drive to Prevelly, when we should have been discussing the wine, we were both agreeing on the fact that the comment was negative, unnecessary, mildly insulting, and a bit rude to be honest.

Snobbery and the world of wine can often go hand in hand unfortunately, so perhaps such comments are par for the course. An industry which strives to be elitist, tends to be pretentious, and is often too quick to believe its own headlines. Nobody is winning Nobel peace prizes, so why all the fuss. Too many people intoxicated on their own sense of self importance perhaps.

A nice winery, a nice enough experience, but one that was slightly soured. Hence the 3 stars.
But if i may, I'd like to finish on a positive. A lovely cellar room along with some great photos to highlight its journey since 1970. And as for the wine itself, its not a bad drop, as they say.

Beautiful wines…. Loved the 2020 Chardonnay and the 2017 cab sav. Matiz was very helpful…a great experience.

Great experience. Really friendly informative staff and a warm atmosphere. The 10 dollar tasting experience for 6 wines is ideal- Meagan was lovely and gave us great pointers on which wines we would like! Highly recommend.

Cape Mentelle has one of my fav wines, Trinders, and beautiful gardens. Love their movie nights too with the beanbag hire and food truck. Definitely worth the trip to Margaret River!

No doubt the vineyards are lovely. But, I have 2 issues.
1. Ther wine's are not to my palate as I've grown up on Barossa, McLaren Vale and Rutherglen reds, which are much bigger gutsier wines.
2. Their prices are now 'bloody ridiculous' even by Margaret river standards.

My friends and I paid for the wine tasting experience a few weeks ago. The wines were not too bad. The experience was rushed we were talking and drinking and even when my friend was half way her cup, the others got served so my friend rushed her own cup to keep it up. In addition, after just finishing the wine tasting, like a minute after, we were asked to leave even before the 45 minutes were completed saying that they needed the table as it was busy, which was not true as there was one table available at the corner and no one waiting for another one. Very disappointing customer service.

Excellent wine tasting in a relaxed atmosphere with very knowledgeable and friendly staff (Kate). Didn't think that WA reds could be so good!

Had a personalised wine, vineyard tour with a wine and food pairing. Excellent. I’ve drunk their vino ever since. Fully recommended.

Currently sitting back and sipping Sauvignon Blanc Semillion 2021 while on my honey moon. We had the absolute pleasure of meeting the wonderful Julie and the team today that despite busy, provided us with the most incredible service and treated us like the only people at the venue. We purchased 4 bottles and will be back for more very soon! Thankyou so much Julie?
