Absolutely stunning, peaceful setting with green grass and beautiful lake view. The rooms at Cape Lodge are enormous with understated decoration to make the most of the huge windows and stately views. Lots of bird life and manicured gardens. The restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast which is included with your room. Little additions like locally produced crackers, chocolate, coffee grinds and a mini bar with beer, soft drinks, water and a bottle of wine really impressed me. The staff here are friendly and attentive, the wine is yummy, the TV is enormous which my husband joked it has to be to see from your bed which is so far away in this gigantic room. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it for a peaceful get away as the only time you see other people is when you go to eat:)

We had a superb stay at Cape Lodge for 3 nights. One of the nights we dined inhouse aand the degustation menu was world class using mainly local ingredients and served by well trained staff. Breakfast also was also magnificent. Elsewhere the grounds were lovely and it seemed every room had an outlook that made you feel like you were staying somewhere very special. The rooms were well appointed and very clean. When we had a small problem with the new aircon in our room the team responded in a manner far beyond what was expected including a personal visit by the manager. Well done to Team here at Cape Lodge. I can not recommend enough if you are wanting to relax and feel special.

I had a lovely stay at Cape Lodge. Location is amazing. The service and attention to detail through out was second to none. The food in the restaurant was seasonal, tasty and presented very well.

Will be back!

Very bad service
We had to wait for our breakfast for 1: 15. Unbelievable and rude management.
Never go back there. The food was so small and no taste.

Technically a 4.5 star rating. Food was really good but portion was small. Service was good. Nice view at restaurant.

My wife and I just had a 2 night stay at Cape Lodge and it was an amazing experience. The property is stunning and you relax as soon as you drive in the front gate. The staff at reception and the restaurant are exactly what you'd expect from such top quality accomodation. We stayed in a Lakeside room which was beautiful. A big thank you to Drew the GM, who made us feel like we were highly valued guests. He is a great person to meet and it's no surprise the lodge runs so smoothly. Thanks also to Rachel, who took us on a lovely tour of the property and gave a great insight into the wine making process. We highly recommend a visit to Cape Lodge for a special getaway.

We were extremely disappointed to have our accommodation cancelled last week five days prior to our highly anticipated stay. It was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and was "unconfirmed " by Cape Lodge with no reason given by them for cancelling our booking. This left us very disappointed and having to find alternative accommodation at very short notice.

Cape Lodge is a quality destination if you want something special. Situated on Caves Road, between Yallingup and Cowaramup, this property has wonderful facilities, food and is close to many other local attractions, wineries and activities. Their staff are top class and provide wonderful and friendly service. If you are looking for something special you will find this hard to beat.

We stayed here for a long awaited weekend away. We had the 3 night deal with 5 course meal, daily breakfast and wine tour. I cannot fault the staff, especially in the restaurant, they were excellent. The food was amazing.
The reason we give the lodge 3 stars is because of the room. We overlooked the water and gardens which was beautiful but the bath had a constantly dripping tap, which they knew about. Also the decor was very tired, gouges in the bathroom wall, builders cheap range of bathroom taps and toilet roll holder and cheap plastic seat etc on toilet. The painting finish on the windows was terrible, worn patches on the long mirror. Old yellowing ceiling vent and thermostat.
The balcony railings looked discoloured and old. The building itself needed upgrading.
There were complimentary water, beers and soft drinks etc. But surely as a winery a small bottle of complimentary wine in the fridge would be better.
For 5 star accomodation I would expect better. We paid a lot for our stay there, and hadn’t had a break from our work for a long time so we were slightly disappointed. Thank goodness for the restaurant, excellent cuisine and fun wine tour.

From the moment of arrival we were treated superbly by the staff. Our stay was for four nights only, but at the end of it we felt so relaxed and content.
Our room was upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. The room had stunning views over the property and it was most comfortable. A pleasant surprise was to have drinks in the fridge included in our stay. Breakfast was outstanding, food to suit everybody.
A huge thank you to everybody who contributed to this wonderful break.
The wine tour with Rebecca was also great fun!

We've stayed for 4 years now, and love it. The grounds, rooms, service, and above all, the food, is simply gorgeous and of an exceptional standard. Thank you for always looking after us.

This place used to be 5 stars but not at the moment. Its currently changing ownership which is probably the main cause but the food and the general service just isn't what it used to be.
Also, the locals simply do not go to this place for a meal. This is an obvious sign there are problems.

Cape Lodge Country estate is beautifully appointment with the rooms over looking the river from the balcony.
Very quit and peace location in Margaret River
The beer and soft drinks and snack are complementary.

Great breakfast menu with the restaurant having views of the river.

Subtle luxury accomodation, elegant and professional restaurant experience with well manicured surroundings yet naturally inclusive of environmental landscape.
Gifted as a birthday present, I was to enjoy an overnight stay in the Garden View Room.
Pleasantly suprised by the time I made it to reception. The accomodation and outbuildings are very well secluded from the driveway. Beautifully presented main reception. Arriving at 4pm I still had time to enjoy the included Afternoon Tea in the Drawing Room which is located in a room opposite reception - unfortunately I did not partake so cannot describe the delights that were on offer. In hindsight and judging by the food presented over the course of the stay, I did indeed miss out.
But we are still at Check-in stage. I was upgraded to the Deluxe Garden View (upstairs room). I moved my car to parking area specific to these rooms and was met by the lady from reception who walked me to my room #18 (offered to carry my suitcase up the stairs). She then proceeded to show me the room and its amenities which were wonderful. Apart from the Cape Lodge bottles of wine, everything in the room is yours free to consume and use. Vasse Virgin toiletries including Bath Salts, Body Lotion, Shower Gel, Shampoo & Conditioner plus two soap bars to wash your hands with!
Mini bar was stocked with Mineral water, orange drink and a cola, and beer of some description. Also, jelly lollys and round pretzel type munchies in jars next to 250g bag of ground Margaret River Roasted coffee beans and a small plunger.wait there's more.a glass bottle of natural water and sparkling water.
The room was simple but beautifully decorated, very spacious. Bathroom was bright, loved the tub, large overhead shower head and thankfully a door on the toilet. There are robes available, towels on a heated rack, an iron & board and shower was hot and well pressured.
Large TV with free in-house movies, which i also unforgivingly did not partake in. There is a lovely selection of magazines on the coffee table for you to peruse.
The bed was, well, so comfortable I did not want to leave it, pillows included.
After enjoying the Vasse Virgin toiletries and heated towels, I tore myself away from the room to enjoy dinner with the gifters of said birthday experience. Now to eat food such as I did is a truly magical experience for me. It is difficult to find honest, exquisitely prepared cuisine in a modern world of hipster parmi's & pints. The bread rolls alone took me on a nostalgic journey - i heard that there is a mother yeast involved in the making of the bread rolls. Suberb Cape Lodge wine was lovingly consumed, steak with truffle mashed potato and broccolini and the most divine jus. I squeezed in some espresso coffee ice cream for dessert and an espresso - and yes I was awake until past midnight, but it was worth it.
Next morning I enjoyed pastries and a cooked breakfast, plus two more espressos whilst watching the swallows dip over the dam in light rain. Yet again, perfect attention from the wait staff. I took a slow meander on the walking trail around the dam, enjoying the break in weather, soaking in the sunshine and peaceful surroundings - very relaxful and I truly did not want to leave.
All in all I highly recommend a stay at Cape Lodge. Do not let the price scare you - the inclusions alone provide exceptional value - the Afternoon tea, Aperitif hour (Yes. I missed this also), breakfast included, plus the drive through this gorgeous region make it well worth it. If you do not feel relaxed enough, there is a day spa available by appointment for massages and facials. In summer the pool is available too. Please spoil yourselves with a stay at this wonderful place even if it is only once in your lifetime. You can then go on to enjoy the restaurant on multiple occasions - and I intend to do just that.
PS: Cooking school sessions available, check the Cape Lodge website. Thinking of this for a few friends on special birthdays / anniveraries / just because it would be amazing.
