Cape Arid Rooms reviews
29 Our second visit here and thought I should leave a review.
Both visits were excellent. Super service and delicious food.
The Cape Arid high tea has to be experienced. Seasonal delights from the region served with freshly baked scones and, if you so wish, we did, a glass of bubbles.
As previously we could not finish everything and left with a box of goodies to have later in the hotel.
Highly recommended.
Unfortunately, I cannot see the value in the High Tea. $85 pp (Saturday) for 3 savoury pieces, 3 sweet pieces and two scones, Tea was included and percolated coffee, but any other form of coffee was an additional cost and all alcohol was an additional cost and must be bought by the bottle. The food did taste lovely but paying that much I believe is outrageous.
I love the State buildings but had never enjoyed the high tea. It was fantastic and everything was great with absolutely no faults
Highly recommend
We had high tea for my mums birthday. Food was the best I’ve ever had at a high tea in my life. Native Australian and WA.specific flavours and artwork. Considering the quality it was INCREDIBLY well priced.
Visited reception a week before to prepare for the party, and they were incredibly accommodating to my needs. Would highly recommend.
An amazing experience in a beautiful venue. Designed with elegance in mind, with service you could always hope for and with the delights of a High Tea that I shall remember for a very long time.
We were welcomed to the rooms by Kuda, and her service, attention to detail and ensuring our visit was first class, will be remembered for a very long time. The comfort of the seating was excellent and on top of it all, the food was magnificent. From the soft, fluffy, delicate scones, the savoury bites and the ultimate in quality dessert treats, everything was amazing. Oh, and the teas were great as well. This was a celebration of our 45th Wedding Anniversary and Kuda's service made it that little extra special.
Fantastic high tea. We went at 1pm and were there until 3: 30pm. Didn't feel rushed at all - service was great but felt like they were maybe slightly short staffed. Sometimes had to flag someone down to get a new pot of tea but once ordered, lovely attitudes and quick service.
The food itself was impeccable. Fantastic scones with jam/cream refills, delicious sandwiches (not one was a let down) and tasty small desserts. Found the food slightly tastier than the high tea down at the Pan Pacific and definitely better than C Restaurant in the sky. Would happily go back again!
An absolutely fabulous experience from the beautiful setting to the faultless service and, most importantly, the amazing food.
I had an amazing afternoon here and would rate the High Tea as one of my all-time favouites.
Our server for the day was personable and well versed on everything on offer.

Beautifully appointed tea rooms with local art showcased within the Treasury building. The service was excellent and the food was divine. Each morsel composed perfectly. Highly recommend.
One of the best high tea experiences in Perth! The building was beautiful and quaint. The service team was incredible, they really knew their products and were really attentive. Great range of teas aswell!
I would come again.
I enjoyed a visit to Cape Arid Rooms for my birthday.
The atmosphere is mesmerising and the service is exceptional. The experience revolves around the delicately constructed and highly inspired food, and most of the remainder of the experience complements that.
Although some parts, it feels, bring the experience just below the best in Perth.
The teas are very mild, despite the vivid descriptions of them on the menu.
The deserts are sickeningly sweet, and either over-powering with flavour or underwhelming.
The jam and cream provided with the scones is sweeter than most. The cream is laced with vanilla, hurting the enjoyment of the finely baked scones with an all-consuming sweetness.
But despite the minor issues, Cape Arid Rooms has created a sense of presence in me which I have never felt before. The 3 awe-inspiringly well-crafted components of the dining at Cape Arid Rooms: ambiance, service, and space, bring Cape Arid Rooms to the top of places to visit again.
Best high tea I’ve ever been to, including places in Bris, Melb and Syd! Incredible food and the GF options were just as good as the regular food.
It was perfect. It was a relaxing experience, the staff were so lovely, the food was amazing and the tea was great, especially being able to try multiple kinds of tea (as opposed to one and the same leaves being topped up with boiling water). We appreciated that it's a curated high tea experience and not a replica of most hotel high teas (not that those are bad but we could feel more effort put into your high tea). Thank you so much. Would definitely recommend
Also appreciated that they triple checked for dietary requirements (when making a booking, when confirming the book and on arrival). We didn't have any but its good to know they double check - in case the attendees changed or something.
My favourite savoury was the delicate sandwich and favourite sweet was the Earl Grey choux pastry
Very elegant experience. Beautiful room and decor. Lovely gallery of artwork with rich backstories. Informative and charming staff. Delicious food and drinks with excellent presentation.
My mum and I have had the pleasure of attending several high teas here and have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences.
The lovely gentleman managing todays high tea made the afternoon very special and we greatly appreciated it- by far the best service we have received.
We will definitely be back to enjoy yet another high tea.
We attended High Tea today and it was absolutely outstanding. The food and service were absolutely impeccable. Kuda attended to all our needs, she was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. The food was absolutely stunning and was so elegantly presented and the flavours were to die for. Definitely the most beautiful High Tea in Perth. Would highly recommend.
Very intimate, classy and enjoyable high tea. For $75 pp with endless tea and filtered coffee, with comfy cosy seating and food to die for… what more could you want? Every item of food was made with care, we actually couldnt finish it all. We started with scones that came with locally made jam and Chantilly cream! Next was savoury, and the egg sandwich was to DIE for. We finished with the coffee style eclair. Just delicious. It felt luxurious. The service, venue and the food. We were seated in a room over looking trees on St Georges Tce and we were beside a little fire place on comfy lounge chairs. We had the last seating and were able to have over 2 hr seating. I would book for a special event any time. So worth it.
Can't say enough good things about Cape Arid rooms, easily the best high tea experience in Perth, the food was incredible and our server Lawson kept going above and beyond to make our time there special
THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Please don’t worry about the price seems slightly higher than the other places because I can say it’s totally worth it! As simple as a sandwich can have a few layers of taste and the menu was just amazing. What’s more can I ask for? The server is lovely and very professional. It was sweet to have the souvenir at the end. Highly recommend!
We had the best experience here. Well worth it. The high tea was incredible with wonderful variety, the cocktails were amazing and the service was excellent. Tom and Jack were excellent hosts. We had such an enjoyable experience. We will be back!
Truly the best afternoon tea experience I've had. The venue itself was warm, inviting and serene, and the food delectable - given the utmost care and precision - to make for a perfect evening delight. But the highlight was the fabulous waitstaff (Lawson) who was so welcoming, attentive, hospitable and entertaining. Thank you so much for a memorable time and I will certainly be coming back for more.
I had an amazing experience such lovely staff the gentleman who served me was very polite and knowledgeable. The food was amazing everything decedent and delicious definitely will go back.
