Canon Double Glazing - UPVC

I absolutely love my double glazed windows. From the moment they were installed (Nov 21) it made a massive difference to the look of the plain 70's home. It has made the inside temperature more even in both mid summer and now the cooler nights and mornings of May. I'm sleeping better as it blocks a lot of the outside noise.

The old 70's aluminium windows rattled, squeeked that made it hard to sleep. Choosing to invest some of the renovation budget to upgrade the windows, the patio will have to wait did not disappoint and adds so much value and curb appeal.

The existing crimsafe security screens were recut and refitted by Mandurah Flyscreens and doing that saved around $150 per window.

We selected Canon Double Glazing, after in-depth reviews and talking to a number of double glazing installers around Perth, to replace all our aluminium windows and sliding doors with UPVC Golden Oak product.
I can confirm that we are very pleased with the quality and the service provided by Canon. There were some delays due to shortage of materials and covid related staff issues, but Bipin kept the delays to a minimum. Brad, the installer, was excellent.
Canon even managed to install colonial bars in matching colour and style with the frame, something which other providers around could not do. We were also impressed with the matching security steel mesh fly screens.
Price wise, Canon's quotation was very competitive.
We were initially going for aluminium double glazing with thermal break but after our research we opted for UPVC, and we are now glad that we did.
We would happily recommend Canon Double Glazing if you are searching for a quality product and a reliable installer.

They're cheep but you get what you pay for. If they don't think your job is worth their time then they'll ignore all correspondence. Almost all my windows have some shoddy connections

Very pleased with the result. Very elegant looking windows and sliding door. Bipin and his team are very respectful and responsive to any concerns you may have. They did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. Will certainly add to the aesthetics and value of your home.

Best looking windows I've seen!

We just had our windows installed and they look so good! Very happy with them so far.

We contacted 7 different double glazing companies in Perth and we ended up choosing to go with Bipin and his team for 3 reasons.

1. They were able to install the windows during the build like how the builders are used to. Other companies wanted to install the windows as a retrofit meaning they would only put in the windows after the build was complete.

2. The price also came in more competitively than the other quotes I got.

3. They manufacture the windows locally whereas the other companies imported them.

Dealing with Bipin was a pleasure. He always responds very quickly to emails and always had time for me when I did drop in to the office to have a look around.

One thing I can't comment on is how well the windows actually perform because our Home isn't finished building yet. When it is done, I will update this review at the bottom sharing my experiences. Based on what I've seen and the quality that the windows look like I'm sure it will be a positive experience though:)

Double Glazing is well known for its elegance in design, noise reduction and energy efficient among many of its positive attributes. Having made the decision to incorporate double glazing in building our new custom home, we contacted Bipin for a quote. He was quick to respond and pricing was competitive.

Bipin was also unassuming, friendly and patient in listening to our needs and even prepared to meet our Custom builder to discuss on the “product, quality and processes” before the builder could include this portion of the work as part of the builder’s contract. In fact, Bipin has an innovative brick in sub-frames, which can be bricked in like normal Aluminium windows, which many builders are familiar with. He worked well with the builder, was easily contactable and delivered on his word, throughout the entire period. Other trades who came through the house after the windows have been installed, have commented on how good the windows look and fascinated by the retractable fly-screens.

We are really happy with the pricing, installation, quality of the products and the service rendered and would recommend Canon Double Glazing, to anyone who is considering double glazing for their homes.

**I WOULD STRONGLY WARN PEOPLE AGAINST USING THIS COMPANY**
I spent a lot of money getting Canon Double Glazing to put windows in my new house. My complaints so far include:
1. Sliding doors that are impossibly difficult to open and need professional adjusting.
2. Windows on which the UPVC external trim has SHRUNK!
3. Double-glazed windows that have filthy marks on the INSIDE of the glazed unit… making them impossible for me to clean (Great!)
Further to all of this, these windows ARE still under warranty, YET… every time I attempt to call or email I receive no answer or reply from the manager (Bipin Hirani himself). I even sent a detailed description of the problems above (BTW all of which are repairable/replaceable) giving Canon AMPLE time (two months!) to make good on their promise of warranty.
No reply, nothing…
No excuses
About to lodge a complaint with Department of Consumer Affairs.

EDIT 04Feb2020: Finally I get a response (see below). Still had no reply from Canon to my email or repeated phone calls to fix existing problems as previously stated. BTW bill WAS paid up to the schedule as agreed. A reduced price was negotiated in 2016 due to major imperfections in several glazed units. Still waiting to hear back from Canon with a suggestion of how the warranty will be honoured.

I could not be happier with the job done by Canon Double Glazing. They were very quick to provide a quote, were significantly cheaper than any of the others that bothered to respond and the product, professionalism and finishing off were excellent. The team that installed the windows were really clean and tidy. I can’t recommend them more. Don’t waste your time on the others

Great product, price and service and would happily recommend to others.

We just completed building our first house and used Canon Double Glazing for our window and 6m sliding door for our solar passive house. We are really happy with the look and feel of the door and windows and have had many positive comments about the wood look (oak) sliding door and white windows including the pull down flyscreens.
Our builders normally use Jason, but allowed us to organize our own glazing while giving us the credit. Canon's quote came in significantly cheaper than other DG companies, due to the fact that they make their own frames rather than importing from Europe. We wouldnt have been able to afford the other companies that quoted us, but were so glad that we upgraded to Canon's product.
Bipin was mostly always available to talk with immediately, but when I couldnt get hold of him, he responded quickly and professionally via email or a call back.
Service was excellent throughout our build. The guys came back to adjust the heavy sliding door after it became difficult to lock due to the pad settling- (apparently a normal part of the building process). They also stayed in communication when a part was delayed.
One thing to take into account for potential buyers: I would say that for people who are conscious of getting an airtight seal- go for the awning design. We got 2 sliding windows in our bedroom (all the rest awning) and the awning does a better job of airtightness and keeping out sound. That said, when I raised this with Bipin, he sent the guys around and they upgraded the seals, (just this week) so we'll see how it goes- but once again another big tick for service.
Overall, the windows themselves feel to me like a premium product, and we are extremely happy with the result.

Our experience with Canon Double Glazing was great! Here's why.

During the build of our new home they noticed that the advanced Passive Solar design of the South-facing external walls might not control rainwater in the usual  way. They alerted us to the potential problem and offered to design,   manufacture, supply and then install the solution. Now we have cute-looking weather-strips that look like tiny awnings above the South-facing upstairs windows.  all without charging us anything extra from their original quote!  

Then their windows, security doors and screens have a clever multi point latching mechanism, like the systems used on jet aircraft. These make sure that doors and hatches stay shut when required for safety. When we told them that just one of our upstairs windows didn't seem to stay shut as tightly as expected they quickly sent their team to make a small adjustment. No problems! Whilst they were at it they checked all of the windows, doors and security screens (every external wall opening in our home is equipped with Canon DG systems).  

Truly excellent service and real peace of mind for our security.

Would we recommend them? Absolutely!

We were recommended Canon Double Glazing from a friend who has also used them and found their pricing to be the best in Perth. We ended up replacing all of our windows and doors in stages over a year, and Bipin and the team were great - even custom making a door for us to fit our choice of pet door. They also returned to replace a couple of fly screens when we had a minor issue with them. The recent bad weather has made us realise how much we appreciate our new windows & doors, they look great & we’re really happy with them.

While I am mostly happy with the windows, customer service is somewhat hard to get after the job is complete. There is a strong smell in the room even after 1 month after the install. Was suspecting beading, but not I think its a rubber gasket

Do not get this company to do your windows! Dodgy as. We are having so many problems with our windows now, wishing we went with a more reputable company. Canon was cheaper than others, but you get terrible quality, and you won't know until much later (when bad weather hits).
