Campabout Oz Camper Hire

I would have given a glowing reco at the time of my booking as the car was great, the service was great the process was easy. However since returning the hire vehicle 2 months ago.
I have now been waiting 35 days for a refund of my $6k deposit and have had little to no communication as to when my funds will be returned. This company does not answer the phone I’ve been waiting four days for an email response
I’m incredibly disappointed with this lack of service

Ended up cancelling our trip, so didn't use their services.
But would highly recommend, as they were very helpful, took the time to show us through their Caravans and even recommended Cliff from Reflections WA to do my Ceramic coating on my Patrol. Would definitely use them in the future.

We are very happy of the 4WD we've rented at Campabout! The staff is very responsive and the car was great. We keep such good souvenirs of our beautiful 1.5 months driving in WA! Thanks!

Hi guys, would like to thank you for let me hire the eagle. Such a lovely experience towing and setting up. Made our trip down to busselton so easy and so much more enjoyable. I felt Safe and confident driving down and reversing the van into our spot. The whole family enjoyed its spacious interior and privacy screens. All the equipment and utensils that it came with was perfect. Thank you so much and looking forward to hiring again.

We (2) rented a Trayon for 3 weeks 09/22, pickup and dropoff in Broome, for a roundtrip in the Kimberleys. Great car, much fun.
Afterwards for another 17 days trip from Broome to Perth, we rented a Prado with roof top tent, as the Trayon was not available for all the time. The car was quite new and also in a perfect condition.
Before hiring we had a lot of questions which were clarified easily by mail.
The refund of the bond took some time, but no problems.
The staff in Broome and also in Perth was very helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this company.

We had a great time driving from Broome to Perth in our Campabout Oz 4WD. Pick up and drop off were quick and easy. We had all the equipment necessary to get off road and enjoy WA

We had the most wonderful experience with Campabout Oz. From start to finish, they couldn’t do enough for us. All questions were answered within a day or two and communication was clear and consistent. On the drive we had a couple of small issues (to be expected) but the company were quick to offer support however we needed it.
We would definitely look to hire with them again

Now we have year 2022 after covid time. We wait since 2 years that campabout payback our bond over 7000 aud. They don`t answer.my email or phone
I have a suspicion.that I`m going to cheat here.

We have waited 6 months for a $3000 deposit back.
We paid the deposit in February 2020 and then Covid-19 struck. We delayed it a year and then asked for our money back.
Don't trust CampAboutOz with any money.

Made a booking with Campabout Oz, they took our money >$1000 then stopped returning our emails and calls when we tried to cancel our booking. Avoid at all costs

Possibly the worst customer experience of my life.
Essentially every person I dealt with at CampaboutOz either in person, on the phone or via email lied to me at some stage or other.
If you do hire from CampaboutOz, I would recommend contacting your credit card company immediately after returning the 4WD/Camper to get your bond back. Otherwise, in my experience, you will be waiting forever to get it because CampaboutOz will have no intention of returning it to you.

We had a great holiday after hiring a camper from this company for three weeks. Excellent customer service and the camper was in immaculate condition. Received our bond back within a few days of returning the camper. We will definitely use you guys again. Highly recommended.

Great prices, excellent service and the camper we hired was spotless! Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The whole experience was great. We had no issues in receiving our bond back. We will definitely hire from them again.

Terrible experience with this company! We hired a caravan for $160/night.

Firstly it was dirty, I spent half a day cleaning and sterilising it, not good during COVID.

Secondly, the caravan had a very strong smell of urine in the back cupboards next to the toilet and shower. My husband checked the toilet and the overflow container was full of the previous users urine. We had to clean this up ourselves! Totally disgusting. The toilet was broken and had been leaking.

Then the fridge did not work on gas and which we needed to go offroad. They got someone out to fix the fridge but it stopped working 5 days later.

Then the water pump stopped working and we had water leaking into the area below the bed.

We ended up having to use a portapotty outside and all our food spoiled in the hot fridge. Ended up leaving our holiday early.

The disappointing thing is that all of this could have been prevented with proper maintenance and checks before hiring out the van.

They say on their website that they charge a $350 cleaning fee if the toilet canister is not empty on return, I asked for a minimum of $350 return after our experience and having to clean up someone else’s urine but they refused to refund us any money despite the issues we had.

Be very wary of using this company!

We had the worst experience with this hire company.
Proper toilet chemicals were not provided!
They tried charging us $800 for something we didn't break.
Absolute con artists.
We had a lot more issues with admin as well
Never hiring a camper again

We rent a Toyota Prado Landcruiser for four days and we think that the car is amazing, running very well and the 4w driving with this car was awesome!
But we have to do some complains about first of all if you try to call them or send an email to ask some informations they will never reply to you and is not very professional because the car is also very expensive.
Second when we went to pick the car up we found out that they use an intermediary company for rental and we wait 1 hour and half to have our car.
The lady that works for the intermediary company didn’t show us properly the car and once we went in the camping we discovered that a pole of the awning was broken so we couldn’t use it during the trip and we ate under 40 degrees without any shade because of that!
Also the camping stuff wasn’t complete because we we’re missing cutleries so we went to Coles to buy them.
Honestly as a costumer i would not recommend the company.

Not worthy of one star! These guys are dodgy as they come in the tourism industry! Operating from a state that shut borders for months on end as soon as another has a COVID case (yes WA), we were hoping to travel this year but because of the uncertainty, requested a refund because paying them an additional $10,000 for their campers and then not being able to travel was too risky at this stage. We were hoping to go in 2022. Their answer, too bad you lose your $1000+ refund. Not even an offer of credit! Imagine if we paid the $10,00 and they shut the border. We would have lost the lost! Unethical operators in these hard times preying upon the unsuspecting and hiding behind their terms and conditions! Stay away of you don't want to lose money.

Back in october 2019 we hired Toyota Prado with roof top tent for 2 weeks when we arrived in Perth office met by Vanessa and Ryan they so helpful couldn’t do enough for you, great service car was amazing on our 4000klm road trip great off road and easy to use, all the equipment was brand new and everything we needed, I would deffo use this company again and well recommend, vanessa even gave us a lift to train station after returning the car great service guys thank you wayne

Great team and service. Staffs are very friendly and took their time to show us the 4x4 camper and how to use the equipment. We had a flat tyre and the support team was very efficient. We will definitely come back.
