Bumplings Perth reviews
21Raced to get here tonight before they close @9 and once we started ordering were told that they aren’t making noodles that close to 9pm. We asked the female employee what time they stop making noodles for future reference and were told “like 8: 30”. Half the menu is noodle dishes so this was pretty disappointing but then again not surprising for Perth. It seems when Brendan isn’t here the staff make up their own rules.
This is not a restaurant but a Food Van inside The Sunshine Harvester Works. There are plenty of other food stalls as well but we tried this one.
The dumpling selection was little. Not fresh made but fresh cooked.
Unfortunate ALL dumpling's have the same chilli powered seasoning as topper which makes it a little boring.
The cheeseburger dumplings were interesting and a kids favourite.
Service was quick, but it gets busy after 6pm.
I have been a Brendan Pang fan for many years and bought 2 copies of his dumplings book. So I was very excited to finally try Bumplings during my Freemantle visit. The food is excellent and the only complaint I have is that Brendan wasn't there so I could be his fangirl! He just seems like such a nice guy and does some brilliant charity work but more importantly - his dumplings are tasty with interesting flavours. I can't wait to see him in Sydney for the Good Food & Wine Show.
Excellent dumplings, my friend from work Darren drives all the way from Mandurah to eat them.
Had the crispy wontons and the veggie dumplings which were good. Cucumber salad was refreshing but could use a bit more zing. Dan Dan noodles were ok - wasn’t wowed. Service was good and fast.
Checked out the Sunshine Harvester Work on Sunday night and found Bumpling and decided to tried it out. I ordered the Bang Bang Chicken Dumpling and Crispy Pork Wonton. Must try!
Deep fried stuff is actually delicious, the noodles hours be removed from the menu it was tasteless and the steamed dumplings were undercooked.
The best. Brendan Pang certainly brought out the best of his heritage of Mauritian Chinese cuisine.
Been wanting to try bumplings since I heard about it on masterchef. They didn’t disappoint. Service was fast and friendly and the food was delish we tried the Dan Dan noodles the fried dumplings and the steamed dumplings. Loved it and wish I could go back for more!
Amazing dumplings from a former MasterChef Australia contestant, Brendan Pang. Highly recommend the Bang Bang Chicken Dumplings, they were amazing. The crispy pork wontons were also delicious. Prices were reasonable and staff were all really friendly.
I travelled all the way from Sydney to visit! Great food, and fantastic service. The only downside was the overall venue was very noisy and there was a piano which had children making a cacophony on the keys all night.
I had the cheeseburger bao, bang bang chicken dumplings, and Mauritian pork belly noodles. They were all delicious and I basically ordered enough for 2.
I also picked up some merchandise and the staff member that served me was very helpful. She even double checked to see if there were any more jerseys left in stock as I didn't see any on display.
Chang chicken glass noodle salad and Mauritian pork belly noodle were winning dish. Unique flavour, tasty and all the elements worked
Over rated on the dumpling by masterchef, skin was too thick, chewy and not to my liking both for steam and fried version.
Normal dumplings from various yumcha restaurants in Sydney are way better!
Ordering system was slow and time to use beeper/paging system rather than having a waiter going arnd trying to find customers. They ran out of table number whem I placed my order and had to wait to be given a number.
Location ambience and setup is nice, rustic, alive and funky. Cool hangout location
Came to visit this place from England to try the famous MasterChef dumplings. It was disappointingly average. The chicken dumplings’ skin was too thick, the sauce was ok. The veggi dumplings had hardly any veg in. I had better dumplings in most Chinese restaurants. The beef noodles was not at all Dan Dan noodles. I would give two stars if it wasn’t the friendly staff and the nice atmosphere of the place.
Brenda, I really hope that Brenda look after and take care of his reputation of Bumplings. It’s a shame otherwise.
Used to be my favourite place in Perth to get dumplings and Dan Dan noodles. I’m sad to see the quality / flavour has gone down hill the last couple visits (more bland, less sauce). I hope the dishes return back to their original standard soon because I miss those Dan Dan noodles.
I was really keen to try Brendan’s dumplings as the Masterchef judges would really rave about them on the show. But unfortunately I found them quite underwhelming! They need more flavour and I wish these guys did some hot and spicy ones with full of flavour for the chilli lovers out there.
It was our first time at Bumplings and we loved it! The venue has such a great atmosphere and we loved the dumplings (especially the fried beef dumplings and sichuan dumplings). We also ordered the curry and rice which was just as delicious.
So after much hype we ordered today.
45 minutes later after 2 requests we received 3 bao buns
Incredibly disappointed
3 of the tiniest portions I have ever seen for $18
I went back to complain but they had sold out
Seems they were eking out what they could by scrimping
Just a dismal waste of time.for not much
Came down into Fremantle for bao with my wife who is a bao fanatic. Crispy chicken bao buns along with BBQ pork bao buns were to die for! Highly recommended. Definitely worth the wait for some tasty food
Hi Guys,
Delicious buns & bao’s, Brendan’s skills obviously run in the family. A few bumps on the 1st day with service, but definitely worth the wait We’ll be back in the coming weeks.
Went to Bumplings last night and had some fantastic food! Was told by the waiter to come back again today for the Sunday Lunch Takeover. The food did not disappoint. Thank you Brendan for bringing excellent food and service to Perth!
