I have had the privilege of witnessing my own progress, both in terms of technical skills and overall physical fitness, thanks to the amazing instructors and the awesome community of people I train with.
No matter what stage you're at with your BJJ I can't recommend this gym enough: D

I have only been going to Midvale Legion 13 for around 3 months, and I love it. Everybody there is so respectful, I am being trained with the highest degree of care and I have already earned my first stripe on my white belt. Mike is an amazing instructor, and never fails to teach everyone perfectly, making sure everyone knows what they have been taught, and manages to teach everyone in a different way that works for them. I am 17 and plan to leave over east to join the army at the start of 2025, but I am hoping to get at least my 3rd, 4th stripe belt belt, or even better, my blue belt. I love training here and will always continue to come here until I leave, thank you to everyone who helps create Legion 13.

Our kids joined the junior 1 class just over 9 months ago. It's such a great experience and they loved it from the start. The quality of teaching and support is exceptional and it's just a great community. We're seeing benefits on so many levels for the kids individually and as a family. Highly recommended. Came here for an in house BJJ competition. Very well organized and referees were very professional. Facilities is really good and a very nice place for bjj.

Honestly like a second family, the enviroment of growth and encouragement is amazing, been at the gym for almost 4 years at this point and wouldn't change it for the world.doesn't matter whether its a technique or life advice, the people here always want to build you up and see you grow.made some absolutely amazing friends being here, and look forward to continuing my training.

Brilliant gym to start your BJJ journey. The 101 introduction classes really help to give you an idea of what to expect and teach you good foundation knowledge before entering the main classes.

All the higher belts from black, even down to the more senior white belts make you feel welcome, comfortable and spend the time helping you through the positions and techniques.

Having only going to Legion 13 Hills with my 2 sons to "check out" what they were about and have to offer. We were met with an extremely
positive, easy going, atmosphere with approachable and welcoming people (coaches and students).

I was looking for something that was enjoyable for my son, but also involved discipline and respect. We enquired about the little Kids BJJ and decided to give it ago! We have been coming for nearly a year and my son really enjoys it. Mike is a fantastic coach and is great with kids.

Probably the best thing I ever did was come to this gym, I don't think I've really enjoyed anything as much as bjj. Very glad to have had a friend start with me to not be so nervous but was amazed at how welcoming everyone is and the great community it is.

The people here are very encouraging and understand the challenges of first starting in BJJ, and go above and beyond in helping you get better!

This is such a great place to learn and train. Everyone here is so welcoming and supportive. I arrived knowing absolutely nothing and was met by people of all different levels who were all so keen to share what they knew to help me improve. The classes are really enjoyable with a variety of days and times - I like the availability of women's classes as well as the 6am early bird classes during the week.

I remember sitting in my car (with the engine still running) before my first free intro lesson. To say that I was afraid of judgement, nervous to meet new people and scared of being injured would be an understatement. I was looking for anything to distract myself from my watch, so I started reading the advert board:

-IN THIS BUILDING-

FEAR is conquered.
SACRIFICES are made.
RESPECT is learned.
CONFIDENCE is built.
CHAMPIONS are made.

I turned the car off and walked inside. Mike Featherstone, the head coach and owner, personally greeted me and every other newbie with such enthusiasm that I could only describe as old friends reuniting. And it wasn't just him, every other single person that night and every other night since has made me feel like I'm family.

And if I could share just one lesson that I have learnt in this building it would be that the hardest part of BJJ is getting to BJJ. I conquered my fears, will you?

Trained at a few places around perth but never felt more accepted or a better environment to train at. Amazing coaches great location and the mats are the best i have seen. My kids (9 and 5) both train here aswell and the growth and confidence they have gotta from the team at L13Kala has been great to watch.

I have been training at Legion 13 Perth Hills for 12 months. I started at 50 yrs old as a year long challenge. The culture of the place is amazing. On day one many of the class introduced themselves and made me welcome. It's a friendly and supportive environment with great coaches and teachers. I came for the 1 year challenge, and I'm now a permanent member because of the culture. I'm fitter, leaner and have benefited in other areas of life and business too.
