Well located in the quiet back streets of Mt Lawley. Known and loved by locals, and others who are lucky enough to find it. Dog friendly with fresh water for dogs.

Honestly wanted this to be a good breakfast experience because I’m local, but unfortunately, Coode St Cafe is terribly disappointing.
Our coffee came in take away cups with the explanation that they’d run out of cups. It wasn’t even super busy, despite being Saturday morning. The coffee itself was burnt and the milk over boiled. My friends coffee was just as bad. Her scone, whilst enjoyable, was served a good 5 minutes before our coffee came out.
Next was my poached egg breakfast, except I received scrambled eggs. I wish I could forgive the mistake but they were cold in sections and the toast was soggy. I couldn’t even finish them. The uneven temperature makes me worry that they were reheated in a microwave. I shudder to think! The serving staff weren’t even remotely apologetic about getting the order wrong or serving us coffees in take away cups. Do better Coode St or we will shortly see yet another change in ownership! Employ trained staff or train them in customer service and put a barrista on your coffee machine. There’s just too much local competition for your cafe to be this sub standard.

Best food we had so far in Perth. Great hospitality and everything was super fresh.

I like to eat healthy food. The menu gave the impression that the probiotic muesli would be healthy. However, the “mixed berries” were a sugar-charged compote and everything was sprinkled with a dusting of icing sugar. Disappointed.

Went to this place for lunch with the family.

We all ordered Chilli Eggs, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, a Ham and Cheese Toastie and 2 coffees

Coffee is great, decor is beautiful and this place always seems to have a spare seat or 3 whilst still being popular. Difficult to get a parking spot but you can easily park on the street. Its the perfect local secret though I havent tried the food yet. Menu looks good.

Visited this morning with a friend.
Coffee was great.
I ordered Turkish eggs and overall it was good, though serving size can be increased with some better sides and not just a 'bed of yougurt'.
Overall I was not disappointed but my friend was!
He ordered pancakes and they turned out to be cold, dry and chewy, as if they were unfresh or pre-cooked.
Nice place with friendly staff. Can do better.
Will return again after a while and if I see improvements then surely I will give it a better star rating. Cheers!

HIDDEN GEM. Coode Street Cafe is back! In the perfect area of Mt Lawley however, secluded enough from the rush! Staff is super kind and the food is amazing and well priced. Love to see the name changed back and I can now say I have now fallen in love with their masala chips!

Cute little corner cafe with seating both indoor and outdoor. Excellent customer service, great coffees, delicious brunch and huge selection of sweet pastries.

Went to visit Coode St Cafe as I was told the previous chef of 12 years was back! I couldn't believe how amazing the food and service was. The menu has been changed back to the previous Coode St Cafe menu with some exciting new additions and heaps of familiar meals. The atmosphere is just phenomenal. I am so excited to keep visiting this cafe regularly again. The place is so clean and tidy and the staff all work so hard. The chef is one of a kind and I am excited to see Coode Street back up and running again!

We had quick friendly service. My meal was a little different yet not so much that you second question yourself.

Have had several nice visits previously with no issues and generally good food and coffee. Ambience is great and staff friendly. However earlier this week we dropped by for a 'quick' coffee which never came out. It was very quiet and the staff mucking around a bit so I couldnt understand how 20 mins could pass by without being served. Upon being reminded about my order my wife and I were then served probably the worst 2 Chai Lattes we've ever tasted. I run a business myself and know you guys could do a lot better than that experience. We did leave feeling very disappointed and not sure if will return again.

Friendly staff, great coffee and the lime slice was to die for. I'll always stop in when I'm doing deliveries in the area from now on!

Not impressed, ordered & paid for a meal with friends. They got their meals but mine never came until I went & reminded them. I was not impressed by the presentation of what I received & would not be going back as I have had similar meals at other places that were presented much better & more enjoyable. One staff member was good & helpful but overall have been to better places to eat with a better menu on offer.

I noticed in the West Australian newspaper that owner Donny Collins was concerned about trade being down during the past few weeks, believing it was due to Covid concerns.
Donny, I am a local who likes to use your cafe for coffee and a snack. I have been there 3 times in the last month and you need to know that unfortunately your coffee is not that good (perhaps try different beans) and the general service isn't that good either - mistakes with orders, late delivery etc.
I bought friends from other suburbs who made the same comments, remarking they wouldn't return.
Maybe these are the reasons for a decline in business. The cafe itself has wonderful ambience and is a lovely setting for coffee and food but these issues need to be resolved. Will try again in a few weeks and wish you good luck in your business.
