Boucla reviews
73 Came here expecting a lovely brunch after reading good reviews. We were mistaken. We ordered the brisket Benedict and salmon Benedict.totally unrefined meals.the salmon Benedict consisted of an entire packet of rocket lettuce with an entire packet of ice cold smoked salmon piled on rye bread.two watery poached eggs and a bucket of hollandaise sauce. The Brisket Benedict had a massive dinner stew of brisket another bucketload of hollandaise sauce and watery poached eggs.
Both meals looked like a dog's breakfast.
This restaurant needs to refine it's meals and focus on quality over quantity. Perhaps focus their Benedicts into an English muffin for better portion control.
Very disappointing. The staff were kind and accommodating but the food was awful
Best cafe in town.
Had an amazing breakfast experience with best costume service and food.
Their employees are rlly nice. The one that served me was sankara. And she was so friendly and her service was amazing.
Went today 23 October and the place stuck of BO.staff members please don't be scared to use deodorant. Has there been a change in staff as the coffee was also bitter.
My little gem in the heart of Subiaco. I literally drive from Belmont to get coffee and Souffra at least once a week.
Great coffee and brunch. Love the eggs they made. I ordered a long black and it wasn't burning hot like how any other cafes do it, so I thought that was quite thoughtful and I am happy with it. The decorations are also quite unique, bringing out a special atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone.
I came back from Melbourne and had to stop by for the famous Souffra. My favourite sweet/pastry I’ve ever had anywhere. It’s like a Mediterranean version of the bread pudding. It’s a place I would keep a secret so it doesn’t sell out when I come to eat it haha
First time visiting Boucla.
The good: I'd have to say the souffra is worth it. Visited on a late Sunday morning. The house was packed, these souffras were disappearing very quickly. Glad I got the last slice. Coffee was good, Turkish eggs were good.
The bad: I realize business is busy, but I was sitting at a table with dirty dishes from the previous guests for most of the time. I essentially had to wait for my food to arrive, and even then only some of the old dishes were taken away. I had to ask twice for the previous guests' dishes to be cleared, and there wasn't any apology or acknowledgement from the waitstaff that this was an issue. In which world is this acceptable? Come on, you can do better than that!
Had the orange chocolate porridge and zucchini corn fritters today- the food was amazing! Compliments to the chef.
Good coffee, it is quite dark inside which can make the place look a bit gloomy, more lighting would be appreciated.
Haven’t tried the food yet.
Friendly efficient staff, coffee was excellent and the Sicilian apple slice was delicious, so many options. Atmosphere was good and court yard was cute.
First time here today.wow, wow, wow, fabulous food, service and eclectic decor. I'll be coming again.
Great food. Good coffee. The place needs a thorough cleaning and freshen up though - it's looking well past its prime.
Oh the sweet souffra will be the death of me, this cake is sheer bliss, like biting into a cloud of happiness!
Also if you are lucky and get it first thing in the morning, it's still warm and the custard is as sweet as honey!
Service is massively improved since my last visit, very friendly and accommodating. Cakes and teas are delightful. The decor is great.
We came to have a nice lunch and honestly expected a bit too much since it was packed and this place has got good reviews.
Talk about steeeeeeeeeep.
We got the shawarma mushroom brioche and the corn fritters.the mushroom dish was a couple of mushrooms (literally), a whole bunch of salad of roquette and cabbage on top of the beetroot hummus in a brioche bun. This was a whopping $21. Felt so ripped off - the guys must be having a laugh in the kitchen.
The corn fritters were such a small portion, and $18 bucks for all that plus a lot of grease in everything.
Staff were very friendly, and service was so efficient, but someone seriously needs to work on the costing here. At least they're popular, they probably won't miss my patronage.
Really great Cafe find. We went in for breakfast and were very happy with the whole experience. The staff were very friendly, and the venue was cute and had a lot of character. We sat out the front on the street, which also had quite nice ambience. Coffee was excellent, and came out within a few minutes of ordering. The food was also fantastic, and we both really enjoyed our breakfast. We would definitely come here again!
Food at Boucla is very tasty and the atmosphere is very Turkish Mediterranean. Especially an area in the back. I especially loved the Shasuka in the past and their beef brisket is brilliant!
One of Subiaco little gem with its Turkish inspired menu.
The food is authentic and delicious. Their souffra is incredible.
The staff is radiant.
There is no need to say more. You just gotta go
Great little place!
Beautiful food (little disappointed my poached egg wasn't runny) otherwise it was wonderful and we'll be back for more delicious treats.
