Bootleg Brewery reviews
62Definitely not the same venue. Hardly any one there which was surprising. Under new management, the menu has changed, not what was posted on website however food & service was good. The young guy running food was very friendly & polite. Moved on to another nearby brewery where the atmosphere was fantastic.
Bootleg is a staple on the Margaret River brewery circuit. One of the originals despite being under new management still has a soft spot in locals hearts. With a good selection of beer, a menu that caters to all tastes and love music on occasion it's a fun place to spend some time in the south of WA.
Location was fantastic, amenities and service was good. Good choice of drinks. Quality of food could be better, we have tasted better.
We went back to bootleg for lunch after having such a nice time a few years ago but were sadly disappointed. The staff were friendly however the place is a little run down, the grass hadn't been mowed, there was what looked like old plastic sheets and old furniture laying around, it looked messy. There was hardly anybody there for school holidays, not like it used to be. Half the beers that were on tap last time were gone, the food was average and some looked like its out a packet and there was a man who worked for Bootleg sitting outside doing his office work talking so loud on the phone, the whole vibe was gone. There will need to be big changes for us to return again.
Share platter was terrible. Literally 1 drop of balsamic vinegar in oil, 4 small squares of feta, 1 tiny piece of Brie, and a small teaspoon of hummus. Very disappointed. Other food was okay but nothing special. We dined here years ago and it’s gone downhill a lot.
Horrible service and no vibe at all. Waited almost 90 minutes for food to watch tour buses served before us. Asked where the changing table was, directed to the disabled toilets were there was a giant empty space on the wall. Has to change my daughter on the table. If they let ppl know the wait for food, it may have been an easier wait.
Yikes.what happened to this place, It had been years since my last visit and it looks like not a dollar has been spend on maintaining this property. Broken, rusted, over grown dirty place it is now. The beer was fine, the food was meh. This place needs to shut-down and renovate.
We went here for lunch and were very disappointed. Packet salad, microwaved chicken and overcooked steak. This place used to be such a great place to eat with awesome atmosphere but it has changed dramatically. I hope they are just going through a rough post covid patch and will return to what they were soon.
Probably the.most average meal we have had in a long time. We were here in October and the menu selection was much larger. Minimal choices on offer- mainly burgers, pizzas and deep fried. Burgers were extremely dry. The fact that the place was mostly empty on a Saturday in January probably should have alerted us to something being not quite right. We left at 1: 30pm and there were only 6 tables occupied
Beer great service quick and food delicious
Great place for lunch over looking lake

The original micro brewery in the south west. Good beers and casual setting. I heard it's changing hands again. Unfortunately it's not what it used to be.
Love the pork ribs, juicy tender and full of flavours.great variety of beers. Satisfied and recommended.
Every brewery and winery was absolutely packed, this one was completely dead. We figured out why pretty quickly. Used to be super busy all the time and well run, not so much anymore.
Food was average at best. My parma lacked flavour and my mate has rated the steak sanga as the worst he has ever had.
The barman lacked any enthusiasm and gave zero advice on the beer choices. Our server was lovely though
Lager was one of the best lager we had in a long time. Location looks good too. However, bar staff (manager?) was lacking charme and did not make us feel welcome. Such a shame. Place has great potential.
We had a lunch on Sunday, it was really great we had pork ribs, steak sanga and duck salad all food was really good. I love the chilli beer. Staff was very friendly. Will come back
Extremely disappointed with the service that was forwarded to us by an unwelcoming, rude bar person. Our opinion of the service that we had just received was seconded by other people who had overheard our conversation and advised us not to chance the overpriced tasteless food that they had only half eaten. Overall disappointed with what we had experienced at the once must visit brewery in Margaret River. I'll not be back.
We tried the 8 beer tasting paddle, which was $30 with very generous sized tastings of 200ml. We enjoyed the experience, loving most of the beers on the paddle. It's an older establishment, meaning older style furniture that could be upgraded and a chess board for fun. We went on a Tuesday afternoon at 3pm which was very quiet. All ok, no complaints.
Very disappointing, food was tasteless, I had salmon and salad with orange, fetta, almonds and green leaves. The dressing on the salad was bland and tasteless and way to much it practically turned the greens white. Almonds were soggy 3 small segments of orange about 6 crumbs of fetta, 1 whole avocado which was not ripe therefore tasteless. Nice salmon. Not worth 26.00
My husband had the bootleg burger which was no bigger than a maccas burger meat was not nice, drowned in mustard salad soggy. The fries were dry and most of them were half black. Definitely not worth 25.oo
Will not recommend. Will never go back
The customer service was very pour there, the guy that serviced us had a bad attitude.
Food was average, beer bartered chips were great, fish was a bit dry.
Drinks was average, Water was not chilled, I don't expect miracles.
Haven’t been here for a while due to average reviews but was pleasantly surprised. The menu had lots of choice, was reasonably priced and the food tasted great. The beers were very good, especially the New World IPA and Juicy Pale which were up there with anything else I’ve tasted at the breweries down here. The setting is very picturesque and the venue is dog friendly. A very positive experience all round.
