Bonney Downs Station reviews
12Hostile, very unprofessional owner who over works and underpays employees I suggest keep on driving.
The definition of Gods Country! Best accommodation in the Pilbara - bar none! Erica the station owner is incredible and its always such a pleasure to stay here. Thankyou!
Stayed here a while back for about 10 months, found the staff to be awesome and the rooms were the best around.
The location away from other camps made it quieter and more relaxing.
The food was always good quality, but if you're looking to buy alcohol, an iced coffee or cigarettes you'll have to travel to the Nullagine deli or go to the nearby BC Iron minesite camp.
Don't speed on the property and be respectful to the land owners.
Absolutely amazing place, the station owners, managers & workers are all great people to hang with.
Food was amazing.
It’s a must see in my eyes.
Fantastic, throughly enjoyed may stay at Bonney Downs. Great staff, great food and views that should not be missed. Even got to have breakfast with a old retired stock horse, he knows where the best tucker is!
Great food, friendly people and good standard of cleanliness. Not a bad place to stay out here in the sticks.
Well
Me and my partner worked there she as the cook and me as a all-rounder
Accommodation was very poor for us no aircon room falling apart
The company vehicle I drove was very poor no aircon owner didn't care ond had new vehicle parked up just sitting there
Ownes lie alot well to us anyway and when we decided to leave they withheld our wages what a drama we are so blown away by how they treated us I have no words and then try and say I was not looking after his cattle disgusting but hey that's how they treated us but have gone thru alot of staff but Goodluck to anyone wonted to work there
Better accomodation than the camp down the road, cleaner rooms and more space to enjoy the serenity
One of the finest places I have worked at, the place reminds me of home, and whenever I seen the staff it was always a cheerful bit of banter. Will be returning in the future.
The people are friendly and to talk to, the food great and enjoyable stay, i love the country life.
Such an amazing little spot this is.the managers were amazing and the food is the best home cooked meals you can eat which I did 3-4 times at dinner and also 3 servings taken to lunch as well
Top little place, homestead/station out in the middle of nowhere! 15km of dirt roads approx to get there (feels more like 100km) Staff are great, we are there for only 2 days for night shift while the plant is down for a shut.
Rooms are livable and are dongas style quarters, 4 rooms per unit, all have showers, toilet and a bed. Laundry is a separate unit. Trying to sleep during the day isn't good, door didn't close properly so the wind pushes against the door lock and bathroom door is the same due to the vacuum caused inside so put bags against them. Each room will be different I guess, make sure it's quite and dark for night shift sleeping. Bonus for a aircon that works!
Food is good and filling, a great eating area under cover with a top view. Yes there is alcohol and it's full strength. Packed lunches, they do what they have, if your headed back into camp to swap out from a bus or LV, grab more tucker, an 1hr drive to site with food that should be kept cold could be a recipe for disaster!
Snakes can be a problem but they haven't had anyone bitten for a while.so don't play with them. It's a nice little place, not sure if they cater for travelers?
