Blue Gum Montessori School reviews
10Blue Gum is a beautiful little school dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for the kids. Our son started in pre primary this year and is a happy and thriving little boy. We love that he can explore and learn in a way that suits his personality and preferences for learning. It’s not perfect (as others have mentioned more plan space on the grounds is much needed) but I cannot fault the teachers and the staff in their genuine care for the children. Having a child that is happy and relaxed about going to school every day is such a gift!
We pulled our daughter out of the school 2.5 years ago, after being advised by her doctors. Many of our friends have left too. We have all been very happy with our new schools (private and public). NB: At least one of the 5 star review praising the principal, teaching, and administrative staff was written by a staff member.
We love the school and have two kids there. The staff are fantastic. The community is lovely. Probably the biggest thing for us though is that the kids are thriving. They come home happy. The Montessori approach encourages independence, self-motivated learning and learning at your own pace. Our kids have been able to access challenges appropriate to their own level without constant comparison to other kids or having to wait while others catch up on some areas. We came from another “Montessori” school that didn’t really follow the method at all. Blue Gum has been a much better experience. Definitely recommend!
Also disappointed with Blue Gum. Upper primary children has limited place to play. It's now worse than what the previous reviewer had said about using the old carpark. Now they are not even allowed to play ball at that carpark after an unfortunate incident. Holistic development of children (which includes playing) does not seem to be a priority for the school and it contradicts the Montessori ethos.
Edited on 30th Jul 2021: Changed my rating to be fair to teachers who have been bringing students over to Meller Park during lunch to make up for the lack of playing space.
7살 큰손자와 곧 5살이 되는 손녀가 다니는 창의력을 키워주는 학교입니다.
실력있는 교사들이 부모님처럼 교육시키고 돌봐 줍니다.
A school attended by a seven-year-old grandchild and soon-to-be-five-year-old granddaughter.
Teachers like their parents teach them with love like family.
I could not recommend this school enough. My daughter has attended since she was 3 years old. The school has an amazing Principal, quality teaching staff and supportive administration. A progressive Montessori school.
My wife and I really wanted to like this school. But after our bitter encounter with the registrar Lisa, I shall retract my application. We were not able to do a tour of the school as it’s still not open to do so whereas all other schools are currently doing so. You are encouraged to put in an application and pay $250 before actually having a look at what you are signing yourself for. From my first impressions this school tends to favour money over other things. Compared with the Montessori school in Burswood, it’s lacking far behind. For similar fees, it should really pull up its socks before showing such unpleasant and egoistic manners.
We love having both of our boys at Blue Gum, the Montessori method is brilliant for learning, very hands on and individualised according to the child's learning level.
The Covid-19 crisis totally showed us the resilience and adaptability of the school to continue to provide value for money despite significant challenges.
I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to provide a wholistic, community orientated and problem solving education for their children. No factory learning here!
We love the mixed age classrooms, small classes and individual support for children with learning challenges and gifts. Thank you
Disappointed! Upper primary has no place to play, currently using the carpark. Been waiting for years- just empty promises. Will not recommend
