BIG4 Sunset Beach Holiday Park reviews
67 It's a bit dated but clean. The overall impression is a bit sad. Around the amenieties a constant creaking from the ventilation on top of the roof of the amenities can be heard - rather unnerving like an alarm clock goung berserk, but in irregular rhythm.
Shower doors don't close, a lock almost came off while I tried to close it.
The camp kitchen was dark in the morning of a cloudy and rainy day because lights come off automatically. The murky atmosphere was not very inviting to make and have breakfast there. Also you would have had a hard time seeing what you were cooking.
I usually prefer to give feedback directly in the reception when checking out. The lady there however was totally uninterested. For the substandard offered it's clearly overpriced.
Good park at the beach. Sites are mostly sand/gravel
Clean facilities
It is a bit cramped
A mixed bag review. Initially I would have given 2 or even 1 star as the reception staff really didn't seem happy to be there. I persevered, especially when we had issues with our caravan and the ladies helped out. The facilities were reasonably good but the pool was glacially cold, hence none of the children went near the place whist we were there. The showers and toilets were clear and plenty of hot water. Final observation relates to the warning signs everywhere. It's like the owners full time job is a litigation lawyer! A little OTT!
Perfect location right On the beach. Great playground for the kids.
Great place to stay. Maybe just needed extra blankets for warm during the colder months!
At the end of the street, directly at the beach. Modern kitchens, ok‘ish bathrooms … old stuff, but very good cleaned and good in shape!
Would recommend just a refurbish of the bathrooms and a bit more „modern“ playground stuff, like the other BIG4s have partially.
But a really good one!
Previously at this camp a few years ago. Windy but Geraldton is known for this
Amenities excellent
Close to Chapman Road, this leads to shops and all tourist attractions
I'm pretty disappointed. My accommodation certainly did not meet my expectations, which were based on the sites photos. A modern, well furnished chalet on the photo is not what you will receive. Look elsewhere, and you'll find much better value for money.
Staff at the front were not welcoming at all, however the park itself is decent. The facilities are a tad out dated, but they do the job and are clean which is the main thing.
A bit expensive compared to other campsites in the area.
Walkable distance to watch the sunset at sunset beach which is nice.
Even though sign says to turn hit water on first then cold, water would go cold so you had to have longer showers trying to get it to work properly. WiFi was very bad, had to use my own data as theirs wouldn't work for myself or my family. Would have been nice to have bed lamps for when getting up during the night.
Everything else was fine
Just spent 3 nights in a deluxe chalet with family. Very clean and had everything we needed. Great location close to the beach with the option of the parks swimming pool. Also shops just up the road very convenient. Thankyou we had a great weekend.
Vera nice accomodating receptionist. Very accessible to the beach. However the whole area needs to be upgraded Womens toilets locks are not working, shower heads needed a job, kitchen floor needs to be clean properly need to remove those sticky chewy on the floor, cloths for washing and sponge are horrible, don’t know why there’s no recycling bin for bottles instead it goes to the tip.
Anyway the ocean is nice here.
Loved being right by the beach and the viewing platform is such a great idea. Late check-in worked well. Not much shade on our powered site or at the jumping pillow provided by sails or trees probably due to cyclone Seroja.
Stayed for 3 days and it was a cabin with ensuite bed small (double bed) but small specially when you are tall. My 18 yr old son could not sleep.on bunk to short when he is tall, light fixtures needed cleaning cob web in bathroom and the chair on patio was broken. Wifi does not work every 4 hrs sign in
Really liked this little family friendly campsite, very modest but has what you need and a local IGA and petrol station a few blocks away. Right on the beach for some beautiful sunsets and a kids play area mine loved best on our whole trip. Very windy and not much shade so come prepared but certainly enjoyed here, thanks Sunset Beach Holiday Park
Park is in need of some tlc but that is not the problem here. On the several occasions that I have tried to book ahead at this park for a powered site and have been told that they cant accommodate as they are fully booked. Then only to drive by later to a park that is only half full.
Location, facilities and staff are all wonderful. We stayed in the pet friendly cabin which is a bit run down, but fit for purpose.
We were made to feel very welcome by the owner. He is working hard to maintain a high standard. We had a great stay on an ensuite site. Great value. Would definitely recommend
Nice little stopover in a great location. Stayed in a motel room which was clean & comfortable for our 1 night stay. Price was reasonable & late check in was easy. Will stay again.
Allways happy to stay here, great place for a one night stay when travelling up north.but also a great spot to stay when exploring around Geraldton and the country.
Wish there was more trees and the grass was nicer. BUT they are steps away from a beautiful beach and the customer service to us on our stay was much appreciated from the kind gentleman Graham I believe his name was. Clean facilities, kind people, very kid friendly and wifi included for when kids need to wind down in the evening. We went during a very quiet period, and my daughter had a great time. Thankyou
