Big Lagoon reviews
17Great place. Few pitches and very spaced apart. Best park campsite during our trip. Note the kindness of the Scottish hosts.
Road in ok if you drop your tyres. Not all sites big enough for a van though. Would much prefer if you could book a site rather than rely on chance. Beautiful area though, well done up bbq shelters. Great viewing boardwalk.
We arrived at Big Lagoon by 4WD but left almost immediately as it is an area mostly suited for kayaking, less suited for swimming in my opinion. The panorama in the photos is more beautiful than in real life
OK spot pretty limited fishing from shore is slow full of grumpy old caravaners but that's what you get too close to town
Everything about this place oozes beauty.
Magnificent turquoise waters and great views in all directions
A great place for a relaxing day out while in Paradise.
A perfect day of kayaking, fishing and just relaxing with family friends
Really enjoyed this campground for its access to great fishing, sunset views, neat level sites and clean amenities
Nice spot. Typical DPAW facilities (good). Great covered bbq areas near the water. Unfortunately the camp hosts were quite surly
A unique experience in this wilderness landscape. Remote and just stunning. 4x4 access required.
Good spot to hang out need 4WD as soft sand drive in however air hoses with gauge are installed at entrance! So airing up & down is easier than having to dig out your compressor. Towing up to smaller off-road vans is ok. Park entry fee separate to camping fee and no booking is possible.caretaker on site.
Good spot for kids in sheltered waters and Sandy shore. Vegetation is mostly low scrub.
Very serene, but unfortunately the mozzies and sand flies also love it. Its the closest point from the entrance to Francois Peron, and a fairly easy drive, so quite a few day tourists here. For a more remote (and less 'bitey') experience head further north.
Awesome place to swim for the day when the wind isn't too much. Little lagoon is nicer for younger kids
Had the pleasure of staying here earlier this month for 9 days. A little windy at times but that's the west coast. Facilities were maintained daily to a very high standard thanks to camp hosts Dennis & Linda, who were very welcoming and always cheerful. Excellent spot to relax with magnificent scenery.
Bloody great place to camp for a day or a month.
Good fishing great for kidz we did a day trip was amazing
Will be goinv back
Nice place, well looked after, road out there really needs more frequent maintenance. Horrible corrugations.
Real nice place to camp if you're into fishing and kayaking. Take a look at the wind report before chosing to stay though and how that may affect you as theres not much in the way of natural protection. We had a rooftop tent and had to take it down half-way through the night.
Great facilities in the middle of nowhere. When you pay the park fees and you have great shade seating and BBQs you don't mind paying
