Beechboro Family Practice

I have been a patient at this practice for many years (since before its move from Lockridge) as I really like my doctor and the staff in general. It is frustrating though as when you need an appointment you can never get one so you spend hours on the phone ringing other practices who many don’t take on new patients or getting in somewhere random who don’t know your medical history.
I don’t go to the doctors very often and there are times you can’t book ahead as you wake up unwell and it’s disappointing to have to doctor shop continually.

I saw Dr Christopher Lam Cham Kee who, between needing both me and Google to educate him on my problem because he wasn’t knowledgeable enough himself, completely disregarded and dismissed my problem, told me that it’s nothing and there’s nothing he can do about it, that I’ll be fine because “it’s not like a heart attack or something” (yes, he actually said that), and that the only thing he can do is put me on a 5 year waiting list. The appointment quite literally ended with me asking if I could leave and him saying “Sorry if I offended you. ” Yes, it offended me.

After many years of coming to this practice and some fantastic Doctors it is a shame that I will never again bring my family here. The administration staff are so incredibly rude, insensitive and on occasion plain nasty. An apparent culture from the practice manager through to junior staff. I have sadly witnessed them partake in awful behaviours to other patients, behind the counter amongst themselves and to myself and family. People arrive at a GP practice wanting to feel safe, secure and trust that they will be cared for. Unfortunately every single time we have dealt with this practice, the admin staff have made us feel horrible for the most insignificant reasons. On this occasion we left upset, and without even discussing our medical concerns with the GP.

If I could give lower than one star I would. The most dysfunctional practice I have ever visited. Booked the afternoon off from work for a booked 12.30 pm appointment for a skin check. 2pm spoke to practice manager who said he is always behind and said there was still 3 people in front of me. Unbelievable!

Called the week prior and asked "do I need to see a doctor prior to getting a blood test? ", i was informed to come in and just grab a ticket so I came in the week after. Once I arrived I was told that they presumed I already had a referal from a doctor. I then asked if I could see a doctor to obtain a referal; however, no doctor was free for another 4 days.

I feel like my time was wasted as I took time off from work. Being as this is their error, I feel they could have accomdated me for 5 min instead of wasting my time.

I have been seeing Dr Lawrence for quiet some time he has been absolutely amazing. He been very understanding and great with my two girls. Highly recommend. You greeted with high respect. I travel from butler down to here just to do mine and my girls appointments

Good service, good doc but its hard to get an appointment on the same day or the day after.
Service quality diminished over the years

This place used to be good until they merged with another Practice and became to busy. Also its hit and miss if its bulk billed now to which turns people away when they cant even tell you which doctors bulk bill and which ones dont. The staff inside treat you terrible when you walk in with no mask and you have a Medical exemption. They say even though you have an exemption you have to still wear one as they say its there company policy. Make up any policy you like but as I dont work there I dont have to follow it.

The people in reception are generally nice. They have a tough job. Most of the nurses are nice (not all). They have a tough job too. I have been seeing Dr Nat Wright at this practise for many years. He is the best doctor I have ever been treated by. He is kind, pleasant, caring, understanding, thorough. Everything you would expect and hope for in a doctor. Thank you Dr Wright.

Never met a nurse nor anyone in my life that is so rude over asking a simple question that could of been answered easily. The nurse by the name of danica Has a big ego and will make you feel like you are a nuisance for making her do her job. She has no regards for others time and will purposely take her time knowing you've been waiting for awhile and in a rush to leave. Let's be clear I was the only person she was tending to, she was not busy and there was noone else waiting. If she thinks she wasn't trying to be rude with the way she spoke to me then she shouldn't be working around people at all. Stunned and shocked by her attitude

I first start going and having really good experience doctors I so far seen have been pretty good beside 1 was rude, but lately every time I called up to get appointment for my baby they say we fully booked out a baby should be 1st priority no matter what because of there age.
She 8 months old last time this happened we came in a walk in because they wouldn't push appointment for her and she had a really bad case of gastro.
I'm really re thinking on not coming here any more.
Just today I have spoken to the front desk over the phone I have found her been so rude towards me when all I was asking was for my daughter to be seen as she got a full body rash all over her body I then mentioned if you can't put a baby 1st priority then I come as a walk in she said why call up if that's what your going to do I said I'm a concern parent asking for my daughter to be seen and your just the Reception putting my daughter aside and I got called rude.

They used to have incredible doctors that genuinely cared for the health of your family. I have been going for many years throughout my pregnancies and children's whole lives and recently there have been a few new doctors start - We saw a new doctor (Dr. Zelco Pecotich) for my 1 year old to get a medical clearance to go to daycare today (she was healthy and ready to go) and while there within the 10 minute appointment time asked to doctor to check my eldest daughters ear after her grommet fell out. Her ear was perfect and nothing further required (she is 5). I get a call from the doctors surgery asking for me to pay the private fee even though children don't normally get charged because he feels that he had to fit her in. Normally children under 12 don't get charged, Dr. Zelco Pecotich obviously felt like he needed to take the money off our young family for the 30 seconds it took to check my daughters ears.

**edit - the practice has responded and have offered a resolution and understanding as to my experience which I am very grateful. Dr. Zelco Pecotich however has decided to engage a lawyer and is threatening legal action because of my review.

Zero patient care at this practice. Reception staff unhelpful and everything is out of their hands. They sit behind the desk and just say sorry can’t help you. Some doctors good which is why I went back but yesterday unfortunately i met with Dr Malik and left very upset because he didn’t help me and had this attitude from the start.he is extremely rude and arrogant! I actually cannot believe it. I believe he was unwilling to help from the start, and I’m sorry to anyone who gets the same treatment from him. It’s shocking! How is he allowed to treat people with their health? !? ! He makes matters worse! Will not be going back to this practice again. Terrible experience.

We saw two different Doctors within a week and they were both incredibly rude (Dr Lam and Dr Malik).

Dr Lam basically told us the virus our daughter had couldn't be "cured" so why did we bother attending. This was after we told him her daycare needed it confirmed as she had attended daycare that day and they needed to advise parents.

Dr Malik strolled in 30 minutes after our appointment time with coffee and lunch. Considering I arrived 15 mins early to my appointment and hadn't seen him leave, this is incredibly inconsiderate. No apology, instead I was greeted with a bad attitude and barely a check on my daughter (needed clearance to go back to daycare).

We were only attending this centre as Dr Patel was amazing but she isn't there anymore so will no longer be attending.

Dr Malik - A truly horrible doctor!
I was thoroughly disappointed. Unprofessional, Very rude and short with you.
A very rude person who should not be allowed to practice medicine.
He face was so serious when I came.when I have asked questions he just still stares at her computer and doesn't answer.

This star is for staff at this practice, not for him.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY TO SEE HIM!

Someone's trying to called me but I was busy, so I called back straight away a woman named Leanne answered the phone and she asked me what the called regarding I've told her someone been calling me I'm responding the called and she answered me straight away no one called me so she hang up on me I've been with this surgery for a long time she's very rude and condescending i pay her wages if she doesn't want to work go somewhere else.

We see Dr nat wright sometimes he works a little behind time but worth the wait he is a fantastic doctor always have the time to listen and help always explains everythink to you never had a problem always calls you back if you need to talk to him. The reception staff are wonderful and nice never had a problem very nice doctor's surgery been seeing the same doctor's for many many years dr nat wright and his wife dr Joanna wright really great doctor's

Professional and friendly. Treat people with respect and you usually receive the same. Remember that people who are unsatisfied are 800% more likely to leave a review than those who are happy with the service they received.

They are the most unprofessional rude bunch and I would DEFINATELY not recommend. You will deal with rude receptionists, be made to wait unreasonably long and have to tolerate BS.

First Instance -
I called them up to confirm my appointment, I asked them, is the doctor on time?
They said yes, I reached there and i was informed to wait.great:)
After waiting for 20 mins I noticed that they let someone else who arrived AFTER me ahead of me and i asked them, "what is this? "
The airhead receptions responds by saying
"Oh i guess the doctor called them in first, dont worry youre next"
so carelessly. After waiting for 40 mins, I said "Im leaving"
they then informed me that i would be charged a cancelation fee if i left, even though they were 40 mins late for the appointment time.
They didn;t seem at all apologetic.
Everyone knows that if you are reception staff you need to be very understanding and compassionate with patients. Some are sick, some are going through long term illness, they clearly are poorly trained and need to be replaced.

Second instance-

A few weeks later, (today) I needed to speak to my doctor, who by the way, left. Just got up one day and left. Lovely:)

Due to Covid we cannot obviously visit the centre, so I needed to speak to the doctor over the phone.
I called, waited, explained what I needed and I was told the doctor would call me at a designated time.
That time arrived, guess what, no call:)
Half an hour later, I called back to ask where is the call? She said it will come soon, as me and my mother both go to the same doctor, someone called her, wow:).
I then received a missed call, and i called back and told the receptionist the situation, the excuse my french, absolutely B*TCH didnt bother to even understand the situation and just kept talking over me, asking me if i wanted to replace the number on file, i said "NO, we are two different people, you called my MOTHER! "
She literally asked for my number an hour ago when the request for a phone call was made.i said "i just wish to speak to the doctor to get the prescription", she again kept talking over me, and was giggling! The audacity! Imagine how uneducated the receptionist was, this is the quality of staff they hire? !

I then spoke to the doctor and asked for him to kindly mail my prescription to the chemist, which he said he will do. Guess what, he didnt:)
I called again 2 hours later, and again the receptionist picked up and said, oh yeah "the email is down". Which is not possible, the SERVER can be down, again, uneducated id*ots working there.

So basically long story short, never received the prescription after calling many times, dealing with the ridiculous trash place, and all they needed to do was email the prescription across to the chemist.if you've read the whole thing, my advice: DONT GO THERE.
