Wonderful. Attended a Yoga Day conducted by Swami Alokananda whose teachings were inspiring. The venue is simple and lovely. The lunch that was provided was delicious and plenty of it. I am very grateful to all who organised this event.

I really like Beaconsfield Yoga Centre. Classes offer a considered balance of restorative and challenging asanas. Students range in age and abilities and I feel welcome to come as I am. Teachers are committed to the practice of yoga (union of body and mind) and each teacher is unique - being true to themselves and their wisdom. I always look forward to going.:)

Never in my entire life would I expect to see a Sivananda ashram requiring people to inject themselves with something against their faith or health practice to attend the yoga shala. Asking practitioners to “respect your position” is unacceptable. You are participating in something Swamiji would find divisive and outrageous. No I do not respect your “position. ” I am ashamed for you. Please take “Sivananda” off your centre you do not deserve it. You are a place of worship and therefore exempt from this requirement. You are doing this on purpose. Swamiji is ashamed of you.

The teachers here are highly trained and gifted professionals. They impart a knowledge of yoga in-the-moment that is learnt experientially in one's own body. The centre is run in an efficient, practical and considerate manner. The heritage grounds are well-kept, graceful and reassuring. This centre does not hide the spiritual foundations of yoga under a bushel. It has strong connections to its lineage and foundational teachers.

I come to my regular yoga classes at Beacon yoga centre. I love the garden and the hall is beautiful and holds great energy. I have tried many of the classes and all teacher have been really good. I can recommend.

The park is actually quite beautiful, and the trees are shaded. Although it is not big, it has accompanied the growth of generations of Guangzhou people. It is really good to have such a park in the busy city. As the family approaches the Spring Festival, the park has a flower arrangement that is more beautiful.

I agree with some of these reviews - i have been to this place a few times over the years. ***this is a nice AirBnB with joga - nothing more. *** to really make the most of this place, remember the following:
1.it is the other travellers that make this place worthy - not the long termers (don't waste time on them)
2.don't expect anything! - then you will be happy
3.enjoy the free yoga - the rest is pretty shallow.go elsewhere if you really want to learn something
4.do NOT give anything more than you - you simply will get used
5.don't stay very long - this is how you will enjoy the energy of the place

Over all a good choice of residence for both long and short term stays. Atmosphere is generally relaxing and calm and the staff are very knowledgeable and experienced. Kirtans, yoga lessons and spiritual teachings are especially enjoyable. There are usually around 4 yoga classes each day in a variety of styles and skill levels which as a whole are perfect for any yoga fanatics or keen learners.

Quality of food really depends on who is cooking, otherwise the large majority of the meals i had during my stay were delicious. Garden is also well maintained, quiet and peaceful.

Would definitely come again

This place can be a place to love others and to be loved. With this in mind, it is best suited to AirBnB patrons, backpackers, WOOFers and lost souls.

After about two short weeks, it also becomes very obvious that regular human traits start to take over most of the board members where contribution & sincerity become utterly irrelevant, despite their asking for these very traits. Playing the system, hypocrisy and ego are the true markers of success in this institution.

With that in mind, know what you are getting into and what you want to get out of it. Don't be fooled by the initial wonderment!

This place has been so welcoming to me many times, such a beautiful space to find peace out of the city. I feel very grateful to have been able to spend some time at the centre, learnt a lot, as much internally as externally, I can always call it home as it did feel like it the whole time I was there.
Great classes and teachings, beautiful food and rooms, amazing garden and if you come at a good time of the year, you would even be blessed in abundance by the beautiful figs from this majestic tree!

A wonder-ful place! A true refuge in the busyiness of modern society. The ashram (uniquely traditional) offers yoga and a spiritual program almost every day of the year. I initially visited the ashram for yoga but found that there was so much more too it and have enjoyed accessing an expansive spiritual book library and love the chanting (Kirtan) on Sunday night and homey feel of the place. As a regular, I highly reccomend!

This center has a lot of wonderful qualities, many endearing individuals come and go through its doors and a majority of the staff here are lovely. Most yoga classes are generally very good.

On the down side, communication is a weakness with certain resident staff which causes unnecessary problems. In particular, there is a teacher and manager here who can be sweet, but also at times is judgmental, cold and uncaring, even to the best of students. Residence are not always valued, treated and respected fairly. This is not to discourage people from residing here, it is still a great experience to stay, just be a little wary.

We can all aspire to Sivananda’s values of love and compassion, this Ashram has a lot of potential, let's hope it gets there one day.
