Its disappointing after nearly 20 plus years of staying at Bay Village the recent stay resulted in us shortening our visit, we elected to arrive on Saturday and leave on Monday so that the other couple we were travelling with could enjoy some space and privacy. When we booked we hadn’t stayed in the 2+2 apartments designed around 2 couples, we have stayed in just about every other type of accommodation and had the pictures and description showed that it was in fact two separate suites one with kitchen and one a suite type accommodation with a common foyer more so, we wouldn’t of booked and alternatively would’ve booked either a two bedroom villa type or the apartment upstairs over reception as we had previously when we travelled with other couples.

The suites are similar to those on the eastern side with a common foyer, and to be blunt that’s all the advertised apartments are as poorly as it was wrongly portrayed they are two separate suites, yes you advise that but you don’t advise the foyer is completely separate to the two rooms and the two rooms are completely separated. The suite with a kitchen was very cramped for 4 adults, you can’t slide the door to the king size shut as the A/C is in the room removing all privacy, you can’t sit in the foyer as it has no A/C and no TV and no ability to put a coffee table between the lounge suites, the actual lounge suite in the king size suite is only a two seater and the queen suite was awkward and clunky in that you had a microwave jammed in, jug and toaster on top, a power board exposed that you had to move out of the way every time you opened the drawers and if you were making a meal where do you propose people consume the meal?

When we have stayed next to the apartments in the queen bed suites for likes of Leeuwin Concert, etc they are ideal, 4 suites and a common foyer, concealed washing machine, but not for two travelling couples. As a positive your staff were as usual very nice, clean linen, tidy and clean apartments, we are not ones that go online and complain nor are we trying to get a reduction, but the advertised Apartment 4.5 -2 bedroom, 2 bathroom for $2500 for a four night stay was well over priced, wrongly portrayed as ideal for 2 couples and disappointing, we will be back to stay but unlikely we would recommend as suitable for 2 couples, and to not get a reply to our email was not the standard expected

My children and I were disturbed by the automatic bright lights in the room at night which were unable to be turned off and hardly slept from them. Jess at reception was extremely rude, sarcastic, unsympathetic, and left me in tears when we asked if anything could be done to help. I have never experienced such disgusting customer service. We paid an exorbitant price for the room and I would’ve expected so much better from the reception staff. Will never return thanks to her

The owner it's a lady that doesn't care about his employers. Nither the guests. This star it's more than what she deserves.

My wife and I have stayed at Dunsborough Bay Village Resort many times. We find the chalets are well appointed, convenient and comfortable. We love the central location which is a short walk to all the Dunsborough shops, cafes and bakery. The beach is about 200m away and there are hundreds of wineries, breweries, distilleries and other interests to explore all within 30 mins drive.

Amazing location in town - everything is walking distance, but close to beaches. Gorgeous property and grounds. Local specialty foods and produce available and of superb quality nearby. Loved it! Super helpful staff. Will definitely stay here again.

If i could give less stars i would.

Right from the begin the lady on reception (manager maybe?) was extremely rude.not 1 but on 2 occasions, Leading up to our stay and during our stay. We had only 1/4 of a roll when we checked in and no spare roll to change. We had other people staying there aswell and they also had no toilet paper. No spare bin bags and only 1 small bin. Have to strip own bed and place everything + plus towels into a big plastic bag. Rooms are not the cleanest.
We were told rudely to vacate, said that we had already been told by another staff member - (which we had not) I had told her that we had not been informed, which she turned around and said yes you have i know you have in a rude way and argued that we had. Would never stay here again.
Would not recommend to anyone especially for the price and service. Wish i had saved myself and read the reviews prior to booking

I have stayed hear eight time this year and won’t stay anywhere else. Great communication from the office and rooms are always clean.
The location is excellent.
Plenty of room to park the boat and hose to wash down after use.
Thank you and will se you soon.

Room was okay, but could hear bathroom facilities from appartment above us. Room location and balcony was overlooking resort entrance carpark and main road so very noisy. Pool was not heated with dirty glass windows to view the main road, no privacy! Electric sauna poor heated once then had to wait a long time to the point that you were freezing before it would restart. Resort pricing is overinflated for what you get! Would not recommend!

Horrible weather meant a stay in the room for a while. However, only a max of 3 min.walk to almost any world cuisine one desires. It was a quiet location for us. Nice place and experience overall.

The room was nice-ish, wasn’t exactly the cleanest of rooms though. The shower temperature never seemed to stay at the temp we wanted it, if you’re looking for a quiet area this place probably isn’t the one as there was always yelling and banging happening.

We booked it through a booking site and despite booking it that way you would think the resort themselves could still help us out with things but no, we accidentally left an item in one of their apartments and when we emailed to see about getting it back but we were turned away and told to message the site we booked with. I understand we didn’t book through them but it is still apart of their resort so you would think they could help.

Overall the place definitely isn’t worth the price of it.

Way over priced. Their COVID cancellation policy needs to be revisited. I booked a cottage for three nights in April 2021, ended up staying one night because of COVID lockdown and had to return to Perth. Instead of giving me two nights credit they gave me one. Could be because I checked out at 11.30am instead of 10am. Okay fair enough, but still they owe me 285 dollars, one night stay, which they want me to book during the week when I am working or else pay for an additional night to satisfy their two nights minimum stay policy over the weekend. Money hunger pathetic.

Our experience was very bitter sweet…
It was a good hotel! Very clean and had very good vibes, but not very good for the amount we payed. We were due to go about a month before but unfortunately due to lockdown the hotel cancelled which was fine, apart from the fact that we were charged $100 cancellation fee for something completely out of our control? There was also no option of getting the money back, instead we were given a credit, although I understand that they have to make profit somehow and COVID has been hard on many small business.
We drove my partners car to the hotel and I bought my car keys too, so I left them on the bench as I didn’t need them. Turns out, the cleaners had come and put a pile of towels on top of my keys, causing me to think they were in my bag. The man that called us to arrange them being mailed back was lovely but unfortunately made us pay for shipping which was a bit annoying as it was a bit silly for someone to put a pile of towels on top of keys?
Lastly, there was not enough parking. We had to park on the street which wasn’t a big deal but a bit inconvenient.
Hotel was in a great location though!

Way over priced, rooms were very clean but for $300 a night for a bedroom, tiny kitchen half the lighting worked the rest flickered all the time. No lounge area if you watched to chill and watch TV you could only lay on the bed, was really disappointing
The only thing going was good location

Great place, and loved it. Except I don't think the walls are insulated, because we heard our male neighbour wee for a very long time.

Manager aggressive and rude! During our stay we had no water due to a.pipe bursting. On arrival back to our room we saw the sms messages and asked about the situation and what to do about water.the Manager accused us of being in the room and not filling up with water? When she finally gave us some water she took it away again leaving us with nothing! All because I asked if we needed to put the bucket of water in the sink to wash dishes when we had no water to wash hands or flush toilet! The manager is noted in many reviews as rude and unhelpful. No sleep as a tree scraped on the windows all night. Dehydrated and unable to wash as well as being abused this is not a good place to stay! Read all the comments is my suggestion and stay away!

Good location in the heart of Dunsborough. But this is where is ends. We stayed the weekend in a spa room. Overpriced and lacking appeal/flair. Very disappointed after seeing the pictures online.

A nice enough stay but an hour after checkout we realised we had left our bathers and shorts in the bathroom. We then decided to drive the extra 40 minutes back to try and collect them from the hotel after they did not answer our calls. The hotel staff said they found nothing in the room and handed me gloves to go through all the guests washing myself. This was a huge basket with all guests in the hotels sheets towels and whatever else. To be honest pretty disgusting to have to do this in a way to get my things especially at a cost of $270 a night. I Don’t think this was an appropriate way of handling lost property especially during COVID. In the end still didn’t get our things back. Please let me know if our things happen to show up. Cheers, Mathew

Extremely terrible experience with management. Spent a lot of money to be treated in a disrespected manner. Would never recommend this place to anyone.
