Great spot to sit and enjoy a Cappuccino. Didn't have any food, only enjoyed a coffee.

We had a ham and cheese croissant, an egg, bacon, spinach and avocado wrap, a long black, a cold press juice (orange, carrot and ginger) and a banana bread pudding. It was all really good, the wrap had a bit of a spicy sauce but it wasn't overpowering, it blended nicely with the other ingredients and the juice was very well balanced as well, loved that I could taste the ginger! It would be good to have a sign indicating that you can take the menu by the cashier's side and just take a seat and come up to order when ready, it was our first time there and weren't sure how the service works, but they're very polite, I would definitely come back!

It's 9am and the choice of music is loud and overbearing with bright sun and no umbrellas.but the food and coffee were worth listening to their choices of music

Amazing breakfast delicious. Coffee best in town. GF cake offerings excellent. Staff super friendly, helpful and quick. Love that they are open earlier than anywhere else or we would never have stumbled on them. Thanks BM team we will be back.

Stopped in for a coffee after a walk along the beach. Nice place good coffee. Many people sitting for breakfast but we didn’t get any meals. Scone was not very good but smoothie was nice. Service is a bit slow but it’s not busy so it’s not that big of an issue. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get a coffee here but if in the area it’s not bad.

Service really poor. Sad, as this used to be a fantastic spot for breakfast with a great atmosphere.

Friendly and efficient service. Coffee was bloody good (I had an ice coffee, highly recommend and will be back purely for the coffee alone), food was nice. Ordered a croissant, milkshake, ice coffee and a beef burger - the total price was just under $45 which was expensive considering what we ordered.

I travel to Albany once or twice each year and make this gem of a cafe my local when I’m in town - great coffee and great atmosphere. They open super early which is handy too!

Great tasting breakfast, was very busy when we arrived, though managed to get a table for 4. Our meals came surprisingly quickly nearly the same time our coffee came. Great tasting coffee and great tasting OJ. Plates were good sized portions. Recommended highly

We enjoyed an early morning coffee and cake. The service, atmosphere, food and coffee were all great. I couldn't fault them. If there was one thing I would improve, it would be to heat the coffee shop up a little, although I can understand why this would be difficult to do with a large open door area.

We would definitely come back to have meal on our next visit to Albany.

Good atmosphere but always just a bit slow in getting coffees out.

Update: the cafe has changed hands and feels like everything is quicker.

Ordered a breakfast wrap, fritata and a bacon and egg burger and 3 coffees at 8.43AM, fritata came out after 5 minutes, bacon and egg burger came out 40 minutes later, and breakfast wrap came out 1 hour and 10 minutes later. 2 coffees, breakfast wrap and bacon and egg burger came to 48.30 dollars.ridiculous price and ridiculously slow service.food was just average as well. No idea how the place survives with such slow service as the place wasn't even that busy!

Staying local, we came to Bay Merchants for breakfast. And we weren't disappointed.

The coffee was excellent. Short and strong. And the breakfast was tasty too.

Nice breakfast. Coffee was good (iced).
Since the change of ownership the property has lost its charm - pretty ordinary inside. Staff need to be more attentive to customers needs - stop talking amongst themselves (a time and place for that). Was disappointed that the rhubarb tarts were nolonger available? Please cover the Muffins sitting on the counter at the front door (hygiene is pretty important! - people coughing, flys etc).

Loved the coffee and the food was delicious, all topped off with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Thankyou for a fantastic start to the day
