Bassendean Family Practice

Honestly this Family Practice has been very helpful to me specially Dr. Warren for over 10 years but unfortunately receptionist this afternoon 21/03/2023 was very rude and unprofessional. I came in to the practice and waited for her to speak to me because she was on the phone talking to someone. I stood there for a good 4 minutes waiting for her and yet i was ignored. Went to the toilet and sat down thinking i will be called anyways because its normal for this practice to be late for the appointments. Waited for 1 hour to be told that Im not in the patient line up. It is very disappointing the way she spoke to me that it is my fault that i didn’t grab her attention to be in the patients line up. And her excused is she thought Im with someone else yet i was sitting on my own and she can see me over the receptionist desk. Didn’t even have the decency to ask why i was sitting there for a good 1 hour. Take note i called her to tell her im coming but I will be late for 5 minutes. I am a receptionist and i would never to this to a patient knowing that they are going to medical problems.

Nothing but good to say about Dr Julian Charles. He is meticulous in his approach and makes sure that you are up to date for vaccinations etc. He spends a great deal of time to explain each problem that my wife or I may have, and what are the options. I believe that he checks his notes on me before he sees me. He is always behind time because he just can't help putting in a little extra with the patient he is with. Well worth the wait. At the age of 76 I've seen many doctors; and I can say that he is the best of them. I don't know how he keeps up with the pressure of having so many patients obviously wanting to see him. Very popular.

I just walked into this practice, meeting with doctor John, I have a mental disorder and explained this to him and that I had previously gotten good help from him and im reaching out I got cut of and told frustratingly! "you can't walk in here and put that on me go to a hospital"
If this is the response a doctor gives when your reaching out for help. It's disgusting and your practice should be shut down! YOU SHOUlD BE ASHAMED!

I have no idea what other physicians from this practice are like, but Dr John McCauliffe displayed nothing but arrogance, apathy and the least amount of compassion I have ever been shown by a medical practitioner. I have no problem with being told I was not able to receive a mental health plan because he didn’t have a background or history, but when a patient tells you they have recently come off antidepressants, you at least show awareness for their potential head space and mental health. I felt like a hindrance from the moment I walked in to his office. He avoided eye contact, and told me it was, and I quote, “inappropriate” for me to ask for this assistance. There are ways to communicate with people. Clearly he has never learnt them. I felt like a child being scolded. The most upsetting experience. The only saving grace, the kindness of the woman on the front desk. So incredibly disappointing.

Dr Saint lives up to his name. He listens to what you have to say, doesn't rush you out the door even though I'm sure his schedule is packed. He has a genuine interest in patients as people not just Medicare numbers. Please don't ever retire Dr Saint.

As someone who has had Dr Saint hold my hand while I cried for over an hour on a dark and rainy night with a waiting room full of people, I couldn’t be more grateful for him.

If you have to wait a little longer to see him it’s because he cares so much about his patients.

I won’t go as far to say that he saved my life that night but I don’t know what would have happened if he had not been so patient with me.
The reception staff have always been friendly and helpful.

Went there for covid booster. The doctor kept us waiting for over an hour, when we finally got into his office, it was messy and it looked like he had been napping on the bed prior tonus going in. He didn't disinfect the area before injecting, and just wiped the injection site with his finger afterwards. No bandaid. Came out of the office and the injection area was bleeding. The receptionist had to tell him to come out and then he put a bandaid on. I could have pretended to be a doctor better than this guy. Stay away. Everyone please stay away.

My doctor is Dr. John McAuliffe.he is very caring and very thorough leaving no stone unturned I appreciate him very much.
I was seeing Dr Saint from January 2017 and I also find he too is the most caring dr he is old school and cares for his patients so much.
We really are blessed to have such wonderful doctors

Dr Saint has being seeing me as a patient for @10 years and has always been able to resolve any medical issues and provide sound advice.

Went to see Dr Charles with an inner ear issue. Provided me with a detailed view of what my issue was and the course of treatment which would fix it. Would highly recommend him based on my experience.

Dr. Saint is the most compassionate and caring GP that does not judge and listens. He wants to to help and wants his patients to get better. Best GP and most cared I've felt about by a GP

Our family has been coming to see Dr Saint for +10yrs and although the wait is often longer than expected, he always gets to the bottom of the problem quickly. Old school, no fuss kind of service.

Came in to see the GP with my daughter who has been presenting challenging behaviors. He hardly spoke to me or asked me any questions, I tried to explain the issue and I was referred to a pediatrician - whos next available appointment is 7 months away! It was the most useless appointment I have ever been to with a GP, i had to ask him to check her ears and throat in case her tantrums were based on her being unwell. I was charged $73 for a 5 minute appointment that provided 0 results and I have further lost my faith in General Practitioners as a useful source for anything other than an antibiotic or sick note.

Waited 40 minutes to get a referral letter because the team is literally taking their time, at the end of the wait it turns out the referral letter was full of spelling mistakes by the doctor anyway. Definitely NOT one of the better medical practices I have ever been to, and will never return again.

It says bulk bill on the internet, I didn't even get any rebate from medicare. I wish i went to my usual GP instead of going there for the convenience.

Dr Saint is fantastic and we have been using them for the last 9years and now we take our young kids here to. Some times can be a bit of a wait but worth it to get the great medical care they provide.

Doctors are very good. They don't rush me, and genuinely care about what i have to say. I would recommend this place for young family.
