Food fresh, staff efficient and friendly. Prices can seem a bit high but it's a large Deli not a supermarket. Mostly, you get what you pay for.good quality.

Absolutely love the ready made meals and the deli section. The portions are generous and everything is always so fresh and tasty, and the staff are always helpful. Love my weekly basils visit.

I stopped to buy a couple of cakes
Both not fresh! Very disappointed
I wont be stopping again
And for the price you pay…

I waited untill I shopped 5 times, purchased different things and different days.
I think the butchers are wayyyyy over priced considering I can get organic, biodynamic, grass fed beef for half the cost of their grass fed. The ready made meals are very bland and tend to be wet on the bottom of the carton. The "cheesecake" desserts are putrid and shouldn't be sold. The deli and hot food are reasonable and are of average quality. The bakery is miniscule and at 8 dollars a loaf of sourdough is utterly ridiculous! The cheese selection is good and prices are to be expected. Fruit and veg selection is nice and quality is good majority of the time.
Overall I think I won't shop there, price is something that is understandable when paying for top quality products, but the quality is no where near the price asked, under flavoured bad texture (stodgy) and small used by dates. I honestly couldn't care what I pay for quality, but saying it's "fine food" doesn't magically make is quality food.

Great place. But why oh why one can justify the prices on the cold meats section is beyond me? $19.99 for polony.

Won’t be back on principal

It is a little more expensive than other supermarkets but it is a gorgeous little place and the pre-made meals are soooo nice - especially the veggie ones:) The young girls on the checkout are lovely too!

Great food and produce. This place has everything you need for home or to entertain. They also have a great dessert and coffee bar.

Produce always so fresh, amazing coffee and cakes. And bully's butcher is probably the best meat going around. Alittle pricey but you are paying for quality.

The desserts there are amazing too. Definitely worth a look if your in the area

Certainly a 100% marked improvement from 12 months ago. Staff have really lifted their game and know their products. It's actually a pleasure to go into Basil's Fine Foods. Still a little pricey but food is excellent and quality is excellent as well, so well worth the trip. If DiChiera returns, (hope they do), as when Im at dads place Tony Yozzi Sports or mum & dads they're a lot closer, they'll have some competition up north. Still haven't really seen the owners but suppose one day they'll be there.

Hated the place. Everyone seems to think they better than everyone else. No politeness or anything! Customers very rude and just pushed infront of myself and 2 children and cashier lady was very abrupt and rude as well. Def won't be going there again.

We like Basil's, it's a real treat to go there and get something special, but the Carrot Cake we bought today was really awful. It was like eating Christmas Cake with no flavour. We ended up throwing it into the bin after a few bites. A real shame and waste of money, paid $12 for 2 slices. Ended up going to Woolworths afterwards and instead bought a delicious cake (whole cake) for half the price. We didn't mind paying $12 for the two slices, but for that price, you do expect that it will taste nice.

Its pretty good, however if your specifically looking for Italian sausages id suggests call ahead as apprently they dont make them all the time. I would have thought an Italian shop would stock them religiously. They do how ever have a fantastic selection of sausages to pick from and most are gluten free as well.

$8 for ONE arancini ball! (Not a typo error) I thought maybe for 4 balls? But when the lady behind the deli counter said no that’s for one ball- I literally laughed out loud and walked off! I pay $12 for a pack of 8 beautifully handmade made arancini balls from IGA frozen section. Mr Basil is greedy! I have watched this store over the years unjustifiably increase prices and see the shop gradually become increasingly emptier due to extortion prices.

Basils has the best selection of ready made meals in the area. A bit on the expensive side but quality is worth it
