Basil & Mint Vietnamese Restaurant reviews
31 Very good Vietnamese restaurant, very popular with the locals.
Tried the San Choy Bau, Dim Sims, Pho Beef ball and Nadi Goreng.
Food was excellent especially the San Choy Bau, only negative was there was no extra been shoots or mint to add to the Pho.
Best to book, it was very busy on the Friday nite we visited with a heap of Uber eats drivers calling to pick up orders too.
BYO without fuss as well.
Recommended.
Awesome food, extremely lovely staff. The duck bahn mi is amazing, couldn't recommend this place enough!
The food here is incredible. I love the tofu dishes and the fresh Vietnamese spring rolls. The food is so fresh and tasty.
Absolutely best place in greenwood, my go to Vietnamese. Service is great and the staff are really friendly, food is delicious. Crispy chicken phò is my favourite
We just moved to the area and honestly these banh mis were a huge selling point we're obsessed!
Lovely local restaurant food was delicious but what makes this a local gem is the lovely owner Kylie and chef who make an effort to get to know their clientele. Highly recommend to everyone
First time order, will be our last time.
Singapore noodles, pork wontons & prawn toasts were all absolutely tasteless & monotonous. Prawn toast barely had any filling, pork in wonton was woefully tasteless & firm meatball-nothing else.
Singapore noodles was so blan - not even close to how Singapore style noodles should taste. Don’t waste your money.
The roast duck red curry is very worthless. Canned fruit is used in it. The duck looks like a semi-finished product bought from other restaurants. The taste of the curry is not even as good as Aldi's frozen instant food. I wouldn't have any objection if it was only $10, but it's a $30 dish, and it's unacceptable.
We used to love this place, but the last 2 times we ordered the pho ga has been terrible. First it was noodle chopped/broken into tiny pieces, basically became an inedible sludge with the soup (see picture).
The second time the noodle was hardened and all stuck together.
Below is the review from a year ago:
Quite happy with the food, tried the pho ga and combination fried rice with seafood.
The freshest and most hearty Beef Pho in WA.
Run by a team of family and close friends, whose passion for hospitality, quality and “care” is so prevalent. The head chef even has “phong care” tattooed, if that isn’t enough conviction.
I’ve been a regular since the launch during the pandemic, and the meals and service is so consistent with the team always looking at ways of progression.
11/10
Ordered prawn toast with was burnt also had rice dish which was burnt. Very disappointing. We complained but no compensation just informed chef would be told. Won't be returning.
Disappointing service left bad taste. I went up and ordered 2 x dry noodle salads with extra $2 for a spring rolls x 2. I was asked if the extra spring roll for both dishes - yes was my reply. When my order came out only 1 dish had a spring roll so I inquired with the chef who adamantly corrected me saying only one order for extra spring roll. He was prepared to argue this with me and printed off my order to prove only one dish was ordered with the extra spring roll. This was an error by the staff member taking the order she got it wrong. Instead of apologizing and go fry a spring roll the chef stood by his staffs order! This was handled ridiculously after all it was a $2 spring roll I had spent $50 on my lunch. Mistakes happen and things get lost in translation but to not rectify an in house error leaves me shaking my head. Food was average I won't be back.
The red curry with roast duck is absolutely delicious, one of the best curries I have ever had. My wife had the beef noodle soup which was equally as delicious. Highly recommend.
Ordered online, so paid upfront, ready at 740pm, get there at 740, told 5 minutes please wait outside; so standing around whilst people eat their dinner, bit awkward. Two more enquiries, 'almost there', "still coming', then finally asked to confirm name, had been sitting for a short while. 805pm. Frustrating, paid upfront, before anyone sitting down. If you're so busy, well done but don't take online orders if you can't fulfil. Food was lukewarm, but cleary fresh and authentic.
Ordered thru menulog
Received a call as food was arriving telling it was missing items paid for. There answer was come and pick it up! DISGRACE NO CARE.
Food that arrived ver average cold bland no spice a totally unacceptable experience
We said not receive all the food we prepaid for, we rang 3 times that night and eventually was told the kitchen was closing and to come and sort it out today. The manager would not reimburse me even though I had receipts.
Don't be mislead by the appearance of the shop. Food is wonderful. Now our favourite restaurants
Beautiful fresh vietnamese food. Love the Pho soups and fresh rice paper rolls. A good selection for vegetarians/vegans. My only criticism would be meals are a little on the small side, but all that aside the food is wonderful.
First time trying this restaurant during lunch hours on a Sunday. Not very busy, waited just shy of an hour for our mains to come out. Quite disappointing when there were orders and takeaway orders after us yet went out first. Food was average.
Love going here for tofu bahn mi, bahn mi fries and salt & pepper tofu! The bubble tea is great, too. The staff are lovely, always helpful and kind. A great local asset.
