Balcony Restaurant

Great food.fantastic and friendly service from all of the staff.alittle tricky to find the entry but worth it.

So I must remember that I'm in Kalgoorlie but I've been coming here for 25 years, so have some reference points.

We ordered 5 entrees and it was a mixed bag. The standout was the chicken, pear and blue cheese tart. Exceptional taste and the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked.

The rest of the menu was big on volume but low on taste.

Scallops with pork. Very disappointing for a number of reasons. Overcooked pork. Lots of colour, jellies and sauces that had no flavour.

Cashews and prawns was again an attempt at creativity that was a massive miss. Deep fried prawns with a side of cashews and salad presented on a decent little salad.

Squid was honest. Well cooked and nice salad.

Lastly, the spiced camembert. The cheese, bread and honeycomb would have been perfect but way overdone with the pack of crackers, crostini and extra sauces. Almost a family size serving.

I think the ideas are sound but the execution needs refinement.

Dinner with a friend. No reservation but they didn't make a fuss and seated us on the balcony. Service was prompt and polite, drinks delivered quickly. Ordered bread selection followed by the Palace Trio. Food was delivered and cleared promptly. Food was bloody delicious and staff very friendly and enthusiastic. Would recommend

This restaurant definitely has potential to be a 5 star restaurant. The food was delicious but the service was lacking. The service let this restaurant down for me. Re-train your staff and you will be 5 star. Your chef does a very good job with the food, cannot fault the food. If we ever come back to Kalgoorlie, we will try this restaurant again and hope to give this a 5 star then.

It is the nicest restaurant in Kalgoorlie and the food is nice.but its not spectacular. Its not fine dining but an upmarket pub feed. The share platter is a good choice with a broad selection. Wine selection is the best you'll get around here.

Big menu and lots of choice but it really is just basics and I don't remember it ever having been any different in the 30 yrs I've lived here.

Portions are well sized but so is everywhere here.

The wait staff were too attentive. Annoying really.
Having 3 seperate people trying to take orders in the space of a couple of minutes made us feel pressured and rushed yet there were a dozen people in. There was no rush. There is a big difference between a Devil's Lair SSB, which was ordered, and the shiraz I got. Oh well, I am happy to drink it and didnt say anything because, frankly we didn't want to give them reason to keep coming back. Small price to pay for a little peace.

Loved sitting on the balcony in the early evening. Took advantage of the early bird menu and prices and got a steak meal to die for. Steak was tender and large portioned.
Dessert was also excellent. Will definitely be there next time I'm in Kalgoorlie.

Walking in it felt like I had transitioned from the Goldfields to a central City Fine dining with only subtle giveaways.
The service was the same, staff professional and attentive.
The menu was not overwhelming and catered for every taste. I couldn't decide between the beef or the lamb; I'm sure both would have been as EXCELLENT as the beef.
Pricing was reasonable considering the quality of the dining experience.
Well done, I'll be back for the lamb.

Nice.cool n breezy without being cold. Good food, average to up prices. Good drinks selection. Being a balcony, a little noisy. All in all, enjoyable & will surely be back.

What a lovely hostess - our experience from beginning to end was superb. They were well booked but paid attention to our little party of 2 - great food, great vibe and fantastic service

I had the 400g scotch fillet, was cooled perfectly!

Steak was one of the best I have had. Everything else wasn't to my flavour. Not my sort of restaurant

Great dinner for our last night in Kalgoorlie. Lovely food, nice wine and good service. Very busy so need to book. A little noisy.

Expensive, good food great meat. Disappointing rock hard meringue. 1500 dollar wines if you wanted to splash out!

Food was lovely and well presented and it arrived with perfect timing, unlike my wine. Didn't have the white on list so brought me up a red!
I then ordered anothert white on list, only, to have to remind staff twice that it hadn't arrived.
Lovely friendly staff with huge smiles, just the 1 hiccup, so all good

Omg was so delicious. Had the chefs tasting plate and it was amazing! And was huge, the two of us didn't even make a dent in it. The resturant was nice and warm and staff friendly and professional.

Disappointed - service was a hit or a miss, steak had no flavour at all (mash was perfect) pasta dish hadn't a lot of flavour either. Cocktails were lovely. Came to collect plates, weren't offered the dessert menu or if we'd like another drink! Had to ask for dessert menu then it then it still never came so gave up.

Most incredible dinning experience in Kalgoorlie.
The 400gram steaks are massive.
High recommended.
Ensure your wallet is not running on fumes.

Best food I've eaten. The service was excellent. We had a few different dishes between us and couldn't fault any part of them. Highly recommend.

It's probably the best restaurant in town. The food is fresh with attentions to the small details. One star lost for the mediocre service. If you sit at the balcony itself, many minutes may pass before someone will bother to check on you.
