Baby Steps Health Centre

I saw Dr Levitt for my baby when she was 10 weeks old. We had been dealing with increased unsettled behaviours for 6+ weeks, with a baby who would scream all day during and after feeds. I was at my wits end as a first time mum, and sought out the help of a ‘specialist’ centre for babies. If I could give this clinic 0 stars, I would. Because the way I was spoken to by Dr Levitt was disgusting. After a thorough examination and history, Dr Levitt said to me ‘your baby is healthy, stop looking for something to be wrong with her’. I walked out of the clinic and cried. The last thing I wanted was something to be ‘wrong’, but someone to try and tackle the issues we were facing. I had asked Dr Levitt if there was a possibility of CMPI due to her discomfort, explosive poops, mucous in her stools and reflux, to which he said no.
My baby is now 7 months old. At 12 weeks, my husband and I decided to try her on a hydrolysed formula for CMPI and her symptoms improved overnight - and she stopped crying incessantly. She also had a tongue and lip tie, that was affecting her feeding and air intake - something Dr Levitt said she didn’t have. For someone who is a supposed ‘expert’ in babies, I have never felt so utterly disgusted by a doctors advice or the way he spoke to me. I will never return to this clinic and I have told many people of my poor experience and not recommended the clinic.

Dr Levitt and Leigh-Anne have been such a great support and provided wonderful advice while I have battled challenges with breastfeeding.
We had an unfortunate start at birth due to misinformation during our time in hospital which left me feeling anxious and concerned about my ability to breastfeed. I attended a tongue tie consult when my daughter was 3 weeks old, with their support and reassurance I have made great progress.
I appreciate their conservative approach, rather than rushing in to treat something that does not need to be treated or medical intervention.
Thank you Leigh-Anne and Dr Levitt for your guidance, encouragement, patience and kindness. For a first time mum, being told you are doing a good job means the world.

Dr Levit from Baby Steps in Wembley has an incredible circumcision clinic which is moving to Subiaco soon. I have had three sons have their procedure in his clinic from Grantham house to Baby Steps in Wembley, over a span of 13 years and cannot express how professional they are. They offer a wealth of children and women services all in the same clinic. The procedure is quick, you are fully informed and supported. It is a culturally safe environment and is covered significantly by Medicare. 24 hour access to Dr Levit following procedure as he makes himself available for any concerns parents may have.

Highly recommend.

3rd time here, wait time is ridiculous. Last time waited 2 hours to see the doc even with an appointment. Today sitting here an hour already and who knows how much longer. Dr levitt is brilliant but they need to sort their booking system out whether people have long or standard appointments especially sitting in a waiting room with young kids who get bored. May have to look at finding someone else if we have to come back here again

Pleased by this clinic! They called me this morning and said the lady my daughter supposed to see is sick and we have to reschedule our app, but because we going to Europe tomorrow they fit me in, we had to wait a bit but that doesn’t matter the Dr Leon Levitt I seen was so knowledgeable and so nice, he explained everything I wanted to know and helped my daughter with her skin problem:)

The doctors are nice but they run late constantly, even at 8am in the morning, which shows a lack of respect for patients time.

Dr Amy Powles is absolutely fantastic, she truely listens to parents concern and is thorough with her approach to children. We have seen numerous doctors in Perth and she is the only one who has provided complete guidance for my daughter and given us a sense of direction. Previously for my son we have seen Dr Levitt and the nurses who are also great. I can’t fault any of the staff at baby steps it’s truly a centre which has the best interest of children and parents.

Dr Levitt is an expert at circumcision. Both my boys have been circumcised by him and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.
Initially it looks a bit confronting, but after a week, both boys had healed really nicely.

My child suffer from severe eczema and has been a struggle for us parent until we see Dr. Amy Powles. She listens to her patient and did a very detail check up. She is also very patience with stressful parents who asked alot of questions.
Treatment process is also explained in detail and easy to follow.
Would totally recommend her!

We have used Baby Steps Health Centre twice now, each time for circumcision for my 4 year old and 2 year old boys respectively. We were recommended by several friends to Dr Levitt, who is very experienced in this area, and makes you feel very well looked after. It is a nerve wracking experience as a first time mum having your baby circumcised, but the way Dr Levitt does it is so quick and pain free, that I had no hesitation bringing my second son in for his. Both my boys healed quickly at the time, and the cosmetic outcome in each case looks perfect. I would definitely recommend this clinic if you are looking to have your boy (s) circumcised.

We brought our two week old baby son for his circumcision after friends had recommended this place. From the moment of my initial enquiry, through to having the procedure done and receiving aftercare advice, I was very impressed. I understand that Dr Levitt has performed many many circumcisions and clearly is confident in his expertise in giving a quick, clean and trouble free result. The advice given for our son's aftercare was perfect, which has left a perfect neat circumcised penis, which was trouble free following your hygiene aftercare advice. We would like to thank you for such a professional service. We'll be back if we have any more sons.

Dr Levitt circumcised both of my boys and did an excellent job each time. He was very gentle with my boys during the procedure, and he is very experienced as a surgeon. If you are anxious about the outcome like I was with my first boy, do not worry. He removes just the right amount of foreskin, leaving a very neat result.

Lovely staff, very attentionate and affectionate. Treat babies with the utmost care and listen to all concerns, give practical suggestions band advice. Not pushy and always professional. Offer a variety of services by very competent doctors and nurses. Highly recommend.

We had a circumcision done a few weeks ago on my 2 week old son and it went very well. He has completely healed and couldn't be happier. Dr Levitt is great he answers any questions you may have and gives detailed care instructions. You can tell he is passionate about his job because he is on call 24 hours a day in the unlikely event a complication arises which is comforting. I would recommend him.

Dr Levitt is the best - I travel 30-40 mins just to see him! You can see that he genuinely loves babies by the way he interacts with them and is patient, kind and generous with his time and knowledge. No question is too stupid and I always leave feeling reassured that I am actually doing a decent job at this parenting gig (which is priceless when you're a first time parent!).

Both our sons had their circumcisions done with Dr Leon Levitt. The workshop before the procedure explains everything in detail which is great for first time parents. This clinic offer a lot of other services too.

I went to Dr. Vanessa Che when I was about 10 weeks pregnant. She wrote me 2 referrals for a blood test and ultrasound. When I went to get the blood test, the lab would not accept my referral becuase Dr. Vanessa had forgotten to write my name on it! When I tried to make an appointment for an ultrasound, the radiology technicians did not understand what was written on the referral. I tried for almost a week to get in contact with Dr. Vanessa to clarify the situation and when she finally rang me back, she just explained what she had written. I rang two additional radiology clinics and neither of them understood exaclty what she was requesting. When I requested a refund for the long appointment I was billed for, the practice manager never got back to me although she promised she would. Dr. Vanessa Che is a snide, careless GP who evidently just wants your money and cares nothing for the well being of her patients.

Both of our boys have been to Dr Levitt at the clinic and both times the experience went smoothly. Not only is Dr Levitt friendly, professional and good at what he does, he makes you feel comfortable and is very reassuring if you ever have any worries. He also offers his support 24/7 if there are any major concerns but we haven’t had any so far. I highly recommend him at the Perth Circumcision Clinic if you’re looking into getting your baby circumcised, just make sure you go through the Wembley clinic (at Baby Steps) and ask for Dr Levitt not the one at Cottesloe which is run by Another Doctor (Richard Newton) who has been falsely using the PCC’s name to drum up business!
