Ascot Kayak Club

Great spot for a swim, nice and quiet, barbeque facilities, playground and plenty of shade.
Beware if you are planning to stay until sunset the mosquitoes are extremely bad.
Even if you paddle to the islands or the banks on the other side you will need so repellent.

Really great spot for a barbecue with the family and some kayaking along the river. It’s a very scenic spot with a fantastic play ground for kids and toddlers. The kayak club is really friendly and helped us getting into the water. There’s a lovely path along the river for a leisurely stroll also.

Visited the Cafe there for brunch before going on a bike ride. Great park for families to pick nick and enjoy everything.

We completed the beginner course and then paid approximately $600 for membership for two people.
We used the club facilities once and then I developed an injury. I asked the club if they could put our membership on temporary hold (under surgeons advisement) until I could kayak again. They refused outright which was very disappointing. I was not even asking for a refund, just some time to recover and join back in. I hope they enjoyed their $600 ‘donation’ from us. Pretty poor treatment, not welcoming for newcomers and just all round bad sportsmanship. Don’t let the nice clubhouse and location fool you try another club.
Even the National governing body offered to waive our fee if we re-joined in light of the circumstances.

We were not part of the club but the launching spot and the kiosk and a great paddle upstream and back was a great treat!

New kiosk is great! The opening times are well signed and it’s good to see people dropping in for coffees again. Good on the new proprietor!

A great club, very inclusive with very friendly people. A great place for beginners to advanced for children through to seniors. Offering beginner classes for all ages is great.

My son had a great time with these guys in a beginner class. We have been using the public facilities for years.

Great spot, very quiet midweek which is perfect for some serenity. Bathrooms were adequate for a public place however there hasn't been any soap for handwashing
