1st floor kids area is amazing! Great for them to use imaginations and creative skills, and friendly staff to help!

A very interesting place to visit on the western side of Australia, with several works (paintings and sculptures) with very diverse aesthetics. Extremely elegant space, there were no problems on my way there and getting in was super easy.

It's pretty much just an empty space with not much to see. Plus like some of the previous reviews, we were also harassed by an extremely rude and racist security guard. The white tourists were left alone, but the male security guard shouted at us to deposit our tiny hand bags. After we deposited our bags, the guard kept following us and frightened my elderly mom. When I was taking photos he came over again to harass us; hissing "no flash allowed! ". But my flash was not on to begin with and he could clearly see that. I see other persons of color have reported identical bad experience. This is a horrible place for non-white visitors.

In the CBD there is the art gallery with different spaces and a 360 terrace above.
It is free and you can arrive with the trasperth included in the free transit zone

I’ve come every year for over a decade, I’m always impressed with the curation and variety of pieces, and the highlight of First Nations artists. The staff and volunteers are always lovely and the space is beautiful.

Beautiful gallery from the outside as well as from the inside. Very well worth the visit. They keep changing their art collections which is fantastic as it makes it attractive to be visited more than once. I go to WA for work and this is one of the places I would like to visit again

Architectural delight. Beautiful Aboriginal art from the Seven Sisters exhibition. Cafe has good food and pretty courtyard garden.

Always good for a free bit of culture and entertainment. Varied exhibits which I've always enjoyed. Sometimes there is a lot to see and other times only a small bit.

Well presented but limited displays. This is a bit disappointing because living in regional WA we don't get to Perth very often.

This art gallery was surprisingly very interesting! I enjoyed the art pieces and is a good place to go if you have any spontaneous hang out ideas with friends. There are some very unique art projects that are on display at the moment. Here's some of my favourite!

Really great range of displays despite the restricted space with renovations. Staff were wonderful, helpful and informative.

This is a really great space to explore, ponder, reflect and engage with all the amazing art, history, learnings and observations. Definitely recommend this if you're visiting Perth! Love the name AGWA too:)

Since my last day in Perth was quite rainy I figured this was the perfect place to spend a couple of hours. It’s nicely set up, but not too big. Small selection of gifts in the gift shop.

Great staff who know so much about the art and very kind but dedicated security. Please when/if you go and if you're able to, make a donation to the art gallery on your way out:)

I haven't personally been to this museum, however my parents, both of whom are deaf were recently in Australia visiting friends. During their visit they had frequented many of the museums within the Perth area but have told me that their experience during their trip here was less than satisfactory.

I have been told by them both that while sitting down and nearly falling asleep, my dad was asked to leave without reason, while one of his friends had actually fallen asleep next to him. My Dad is no trouble maker, he is a quiet man as a result of his lack of hearing however he has always been someone to enjoy visual art and history of other cultures, always being respectful as this is within his nature.

My mum was unaware of the situation until she text him after being unable to find him in the museum. When she found out what had happened and still both of them were unaware of any reason as to why my dad had been asked to leave, My Dad was too embarrassed and refused to let my Mum complain as he did not want any further trouble.

I find it appalling that a museum that displays the work of people oppressed by a society would have the gall to ask a deaf man to leave without reasoning.

I wish to also let anyone know who reads this review that this is not based on the work displayed within the museum but on the customer service of the staff and/or security who asked my Dad to leave without reason.

A number of galleries we're closed when I visited recently. I remember there were a lot more art works the previous time I was there a few years ago.

There is amole paid parking nearby so it is easy to go to. There are places to sit down so it is disabled and elderly friendly.

It's a nice modern building but wish there were more artworks.

It is was a pleasant way to spend about an hour and a half or so. It's quite a large gallery, spread on 3 levels. There is plenty of space between and around the artworks, it's not all crammed in like some galleries.
The gallery caters to all tastes, there's something for everyone. I like landscapes and paintings of historic scenes, so there was a good selection. Then there was also modern and abstract which were not my cup of tea, but there you go.
It's also free, and while you need to check your backpacks, you are free to take your camera and take photos.

A place to relax, find peace and enjoy artistic paintings. It is very clean and quiet. The place has a great collection of artworks ranging from paintings to sculptures. Place is also very clean and not too crowded with people.
