Aquarium Seafood Chinese Resturaunt reviews
51Great seafood specialist Chinese restaurant with large portions and generous amounts of seafood in dishes. We tried the salty egg yolk deep fried squid that was very tender and an interesting twist on the usual.
This is a hidden gem for dim sum! My friends and I were pleasantly surprised by our experienced and really enjoyed it. Food was delicious I'd rate this place in my top 2 for Perth. The chilli oil has more of a kick than any other place be warned and don't shy away it's worth it.
Wasn't very busy when we went between 10: 30 to about 11 and we didn't have to wait to get in or be seated.
Staff were still opening when I arrived and as we were seated. They were polite and accommodating.
Food base line for us with any new dim sum place has been their squid tentacles, prawn rice flower roll with fried dough, prawn dumpling.
The chilli oil caught us by surprise and we all agreed we hadn't had such flavour in any other place.
Favourite over all today were squid tentacles, however everything was delicious. Fried food were really crispy not soggy at all.
There are a lot of bamboo shoots in the fresh bamboo rolls The taste is very crispy. The chicken feet, pork ribs, and preserved egg porridge are delicious Xiaolongbao, durian glutinous rice, and glutinous rice chicken are also good. The overall product is good Will come again next time
We used to love this place prior to covid but has new owners now and we bought takeaway last night. I have to say that it was absolutely disappointing and that will be the last time I buy from there. My favourite is special fried rice and it was so tasteless, even the honey prawns lacked flavour.
Aquarium Chinese Restaurant is a fantastic place to enjoy delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine. The menu features a variety of dishes that are expertly prepared using fresh and high-quality ingredients. The flavors are bold and exciting, and the presentation is visually stunning. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, offering great suggestions and ensuring that your dining experience is truly unforgettable. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with a warm and welcoming environment that makes you feel right at home. Overall, Aquarium Chinese Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for a truly exceptional Chinese dining experience.
This is a zero star review. We were ripped off.they overcharged us. We paid $220 for only 5 of us for non super fancy dishes. They even charged me $20 for using my debit card for payment. Please ask for receipt after payment. Will not come back again.
I'm not a massive dim sum fan but this place does it pretty well, and is nice and spacious and not too loud considering all the people that were there which is often what I want on a weekend morning
Great service and delicious food. We were staying close by and lucked out that this place had seating on NYE. We ordered friend rice with jumbo prawns and stir fried veggies with curry sauce. Everything was great and the complimentary tea was perfect. The staff is very helpful and always there to assist.
Owners Screaming children running around. Staff is doing nothing about it. Knocking over chairs and yelling right near our table, fighting eachother. We Can’t hear our own conversations over the children. I use to like this place but we will never be returning
We are here for a nice anniversary dinner, and there are 4 children running around our table, behind our chairs, climbing over walls and screaming and yelling playing chasey around the restaurant, one is even crying because one slapped the other in the face, not too mention They are knocking over chairs. They are also kicking each other and jumping up and down. We have also noticed that the owner is over with the group of family members that have the kids, laughing, eating and sitting down with them. The morals of this restaurant is very wrong and needs some serious help
I used to love this place for takeaway. Owners use to be the same as the Sunlight mob in Malaga. Had a bad dine in meal that made my wife and I feel sick last year and I never came back since. Bit of a pain though as there's no good Chinese restaurant in Belmont anymore.
EDIT: Since eating here this restaurant has recently been fined $100,000 because of a kitchen that was so filthy and disgusting it would not even be fit to prepare food for animals. Inspectors found dead rats and a cockroach infestation throughout the kitchen as well as rats droppings in rice. The $100,000 fine is one of the highest penalties issued due the severity. The sentencing magistrate used the terms 'sickening', 'disgusting' and 'nauseating' to describe the filth and condition of the kitchen.
We had Yum Cha here yesterday with some friends. Some key points below.
1. Service very hit and miss. We were seated for close to 15 minutes before tea was delivered to the table and food shortly after. After this initial serve there was no attention from staff until we had to raise our hands and beckon for them to come and serve us for the rest of the time we were there. This is not a typical Yum Cha service. The service should be regular and attentive with a good selection of food constantly being brought to the table by attentive wait staff.
2. Tea was not refilled on the centre of the table. We ran out of tea and placed the lid of the teapot on the top to let them know we needed more tea and hot water. Once again we had to beakon them to come over. Not good enough.
3. Food was just ok, not below average or above average but just very average. Fried squid was tasteless and not crispy. The steamed dim sum was just ok.
4. The decorations and interior look to be in a state of disrepair. To get to the toilet you need to walk past a large fish tank with crabs and fish, there was water all over the floor, lots of water; from the tanks that are obviously leaking. Not sure why that was left the way it was but that water all over the tiled floor is an accident waiting to happen.
In summary there are much, much better Yum Cha venues in Perth to choose from. We won't go back. One positive is the parking out front and behind is free.
We were ripped off extreme expensive food poor management and bland tasteless food. Never again
I have been here three times in the last month, I LOVE it. I eat out a lot and authentic Chinese is my passion. The people, the parking are great - the food superb! Possibly the best in Perth.
Good quality food, though low staff levels was apparent as the workers appeared stressed and quite a few selections where unavailable.
Sadly this one has seen better days. Service a bit hit and miss. Food nice but don't order cocktails as they are just not quite right. Furniture needs some repair. 5 star prices but venue doesn't deliver the high quality decor or service to justify cost.
You blame the pandemic because of the poor service but you as the manager could have just apologized us to for waiting ages just to pay for the meal. You’re not short of staff, you’re lacking business ethics because you want to stand around your “friends” and serve them individually whilst you have your staff standing around.
Thankfully the food was good.
If they don’t answer the phone they’re closed. Don’t waste your time driving there unless you call first.
They are just randomly closed on any day.
Food is better than most.
I just tried to go here for dinner. The chairs/tables had what looked like oil stains. The staff complained when we asked for clean chairs, after trying to look for clean ones we found most of them dirty, a white sheet on the wall with a projector playing a movie? No fish in the tanks, which makes me question where they are getting their fish from. 10 staff members and 3 customers (me and my parents)
These guys know how to cook seafood. DELICIOUS. I'll be back. So many dishes I want to try. XNOW THIS IS THE LIFE IM MEANT TO LIVE. YEAH.
