Altone Park Golf Course reviews
22 Really unique 9-hole course that tests even a low handicappers skill. Rolling hills, water body hazards on 7 of 9 holes and narrow fairways make for a challenging game.
Green fees are very affordable. Only thing that's a bit weird is they don't have a dedicated driving range, but one opens up at 4.30pm onto the 1st and 2nd tee so if you're playing twilight you have to tee off from the 3rd and play 7 holes only, but the cheap price of $10 reflects this
We brought drinks as we didnt realise you werent allowed too but when we were confronted we were spoken to very rudely. Will never go back EVER! Very Rude chick that works there but the guy was pretty cool. Maryland's golf course is way better for staff
I arrived here to play with 2 friends who have played here. Cheap Green fees and cart. I paid $30 for 9 holes and motorised cart. Course appears very green. Lots of water and rolling fairways.
What a joke. Course is a not well maintained at all. Greens have weed clumps and the fairways have massive dirt patches. Not a fun course to play.
Enjoyed game. Course well maintained but strenuous for us old blokes. Could have hired a buggy for a good price but for I nd out too late.
Excellent 9 hole golf course staff friendly food and drinks aok, tough with lots of water around and doglegs. Due to a Management change in the near future the Grass in some place is so rough that loosing balls is very easy (rough is 300/400mm)
Great course, greens are in top condition thanks to the green keeper. Some of the tee boxes were in need of a little turf maintenance though. Very busy on a Sunday morning, and only had to wait a few minutes for the group in front on a couple of the par 3's. It's not an easy course as some of the fairways are on the narrow side. But if you're a straight hitter, it won't be a problem. A few water hazards, and some tricky bunkers lurking round a couple of the greens. Driving range opens up in the late afternoon /evening over the first tee. Licensed kiosk to have a beverage too.
Not bad for a small course. Just got to make sure your not there when the sprinklers are on or when they take the pin flags away early in the afternoon as well.
Always a testing little course.
Could do with some TLC to the holes and worn buggy tracks which are only getting worse and will cost more in the long run to fix otherwise good.
Personally I have not gone here but on behalf of my family I will write this out. They have gone here for years nearly every Monday morning, they enjoy playing golf together and it makes my grandad happy that's all that maters. Thank you to the people that work here for keeping my Grandad happy and active. Again Thank you very much
We brought drinks as we didnt realise you werent allowed too but when confronted we were spoken to very rudely. Never go back EVER. Maylands golf course all the way. Very Rude c**t that works there but guy was pretty cool.
Altone golf course is alright golf course but with there random dog will try to attack people when comes up to pat it I wouldn't recommend you going there because you might get bit by it so put a muzzle on the dog before it hurts a costomer and then employees came
out abuse off set dog.
Was horrible wouldnt recommend to my worst enmey. Bark all over the greens, un kept fairways just an all round goat track. Not to mention the owners unsecured vicious dog was attacking people and the owner thought ir was funny.
Excellent golf course played with the Saturday morning club great blokes had a good time Course was immaculate
Terrible condition.teed of at 345pm and paid full price.and after the second hole they collected all the flags off the greens in a golf buggy.so we played the rest of our round with no flags on the greens.or what was of the greens.really bad service and condition.
Love this very friendly place exceptional coffee for a golf course. Very nice fairways hilly in a nice way very pretty.
One of the more challenging 9 hole courses in the metro area
Put your driver away, barring 1 hole and bring out the fairway woods and irons.
A challenging course with undulating fairways and bring some spare balls if u like punching the ball long.u might loose a few balls along the way.
Accuracy and restraint is what u need playing this course, even though you might want to smash the backside of your ball.
Enjoy
It's been a decade since I last played golf and it was at Burwood, so I was pleasantly surprised at how technical this course is. Great coffee, nice cheap cold beer and very friendly staff. I will be back
I really like the course. Its quite challenging with its hills that line the fairways. I really like the longer par 3 that has both water and a bunker come into play. The driving range is dodgy however. At 430pm the last couple of holes shorten to allow the range to open, so annoying if you still want a round of 9. The range uses matting as opposed to grass, which makes you feel like you're hitting better than you are, and plastic tees that are too hard - they snapped my driver!
What a wee gem of a course, not easy by any means, played it for the first time yesterday and cant believe I had never been there before! I will now be a regular visitor, good coffee, cold beer and nice food served by smiling staff!
