We dealt with many of the property managers over a long period of time, through renting out a property. There were many problems to overcome, and a lot of stressful situations. The property managers came and went but one stood out it was Rachelle Oversby. She was very, very good! We sent her an email of appreciation but she.did not reply. The house was sold and the final payment came through. No good bye, or 'thank very much' after a long association. We were happy with the service most of the time with Acton South West.

Me and my partner were very happy with the whole process in buying our first home. We dealt with Venessa Schefe, throughout the time of when we first reached out to her to come and have a look at the property all the way up until we had moved in she was very helpful in guiding us in the right direction. We never once felt pushed into making any decisions we were unsure on she took the time and effort to make it so much simpler and easy to understand. We would highly recommend Acton and Venessa to any home buyer.

I wish to counter the below review by my sister with my own experiences.

The realtor we dealt with was extremely professional and capable. While there were some hiccups, as mentioned in the other review, the issues were dealt with promptly, and with apologies. The realtor was extremely communicative, in contact with us after hours while he was dealing with the issues personally. It appeared that there was miscommunication between himself and the team in the office, and some technical difficulties and that was how the issues arose. They were resolved within 24 hours and ultimately did not impact the sale or promotion of our property.

Regarding the social media issue mentioned, we did approve Facebook promotion in our initial meeting regarding the marketing of our property, but we said that we would discuss it down the track and go down that path if we felt the advertising needed a boost. While it is true we were not aware that the ads had in fact ran, I feel that it was such a minor issue and ultimately our property sold quickly and for more money than other local realtors had even suggested starting at.

I've since had it explained to me that as each realtor runs their own Facebook page, and the advertising for our property was done from this area-specific Acton page, the realtor must link their own bank account to the page for advertising funds. They are then reimbursed by the company once the property is sold and the accounts settled. Therefore, it makes sense that we were refunded the money from his personal account.

In my opinion, our realtor is used to being trusted to do his job without such scrutiny, and made decisions drawing on his years of experience in the industry. A decision, which possibly led to the sale of our property. Hardly worth squabbling over a $50 fee for!

I would not hesitate to recommend Acton to anyone interested in selling their property in the South West.

I should caveat all of the below by saying that ultimately our realtor sold our property for us for a fair price, which covers the bare bones of what you can hope for from a realtor. However, if you read on, you’ll see that the process was rather egregious.

We were continually challenged by the mistakes that our realtor made in the marketing of our property; promises were made for us to sight the description before it went live, but this was a promise undelivered — a real shame given the description contained multiple errors, such as the size of the property itself! We had also gone to great lengths to take drone photos and edit them, not to mention provided feedback of the order we wished photos to be displayed in; when the listing went live, none of our submissions nor photo order feedback had been incorporated.

Acton apologised and offered us a free ad in an out-of-town newspaper which was a nice gesture but worthless; if we had thought this additional marketing was valuable, we would have selected it from their menu of options at day one.

Further insult to injury was when we received the final bill for marketing costs; a fee for paid social media ads had been added, despite us not approving this cost, nor even seeing any evidence the ads had run. The bill was the first we had seen of it. When raising my objections to the realtor, he denied any wrongdoing, and instead doubled down on his insistence that he was right. After more back-and-forth, he offered to refund me the social media ads fee.out of his own personal pocket. I accepted, because by then I wanted the whole debacle over with, but since then have been feeling very uneasy about the ethics of this — why could he not refund me from the company account? Did he know he was in the wrong by that point, and didn’t want his superiors knowing? Why could he still not bring himself to apologise?

I would feel very uneasy recommending Acton and this realtor because of the above untrustworthiness. It’s a real shame, because disregarding the numerous marketing admin errors and ethics surrounding his reimbursement, he was a nice enough guy, and ultimately did what we hired him for.

We attempted to sell our property multiple times through another agent with no luck. We recently engaged Jackie McVee for the renowned ACTON 'Express 28 Day Sale', in the hope our property would finally sell. Jackie provided valuable insight into how our property should be staged, organised professional photos including a drone to showcase our location, scheduled and committed to multiple home opens every week, and even made sure our home opens coincided with other agents in the street to give our property maximum exposure. But that is just the baseline of Jackie's ability as an agent. To say she has gone above and beyond is an understatement. Jackie also assisted us to troubleshoot repair and maintenance issues, coordinated access for trades, and remained on call for what seemed like 24/7. Through Jackie's clever marketing, we had countless people turn up to the home opens, it actually felt surreal at the time. Just like that, 21 days into our 28 day sale, we signed a buyer! Jackie McVee - you're a bloody legend!
