I was referred to Activa by a friend whose house was built by Activa. Professional and caring are the two words that describes Activa aptly. We started building with Activa in Oct 2022 and the 2 storey build is now nearing lock-up. We did not encounter any of the delays that other builders (especially the big ones) are having and the workmanship has been top class.
It has been a fantastic journey so far dealing with Peter Burnside and Sharon during the planning, designing and selection stage and with Pete during the construction.
Activa have an open line of communication to anyone including Jason and have been very responsive in answering to queries and solving issues. We have built 2 houses prior to this and Activa stand way above any of the other builders.
I will update the review once the build is complete. Definitely recommend Activa to anyone considering to build a quality home.

My wife and myself decided to build with Activa homes early August 2021 and so far, the experience has been very good. As this is our first build, we have tons of questions and Activa team is literally a phone call/text message away to assist. I can talk to anyone from my supervisor to the General manager, who would take time to listen and answer the lamest question I may have. Update: Activa completed our double-story home and handed over the keys in late July 23rd. The project took roughly 23 months to complete, and I have no regrets selecting Activa, as they are one of those companies who truly know what customer service means. Everyone at Activa was very reachable and was so helpful throughout the building process and post-handover. A special thank you goes to my site supervisor, Brad Janssen, who was very patient with my newbie questions.

Good is an understatement of what Activa Homes is and the services they provide. The two closest words to what I would describe Activa Homes are magnificent and outstanding. Everything that this company does is done professionally. Emails were replied within a jiffy, matters and issues were answered promptly, and most importantly, the feeling of being put in the dark was never experienced.

Given that we’re from Malaysia, not only was our new home our first foreign purchase, but everything from the documentation and meetings to the signing were done via email or a communication platform. Though it is quite true that purchasing a home from a different country is daunting, Activa Homes has proved otherwise. Every stage of the development was met with sheer excitement and an abundance of smiles.

Deadlines were always met and expectations were transcended at every point of the development. Everything was done with heaps of care and attention which made our confidence and trust in Activa Homes to grow throughout the entire development.

We’re beyond thankful and will always remain indebted to Activa Homes for their services and hospitality. They’re Director - Jason Janssen is genuinely the most humble and down to earth person we’ve ever met.

I recently built my first home with Activa Homes, and the process was divided into three stages: Sale, Design, and Construction. Overall, my experience with Activa Homes was slightly above average.

During the Sale stage, I had the pleasure of working with Peter Burnside, who was excellent in his attention to detail regarding my purchased land and the plan going forward. I was impressed with the level of professionalism and minimal hiccups, which is why I ultimately chose Activa Homes over other builders.

The Design stage was a slightly rocky experience for me, as Peter was not there for some of the design stage, which included all of the construction. However, Sharon was very nice and accommodating, and I was ultimately satisfied with the outcome.

The Construction stage is where my experience with Activa Homes fell a bit flat. Communication was often difficult due to the high demand for construction at that time. Unfortunately, two significant faults occurred during construction: the collapse of the retaining wall and the missed inclusion of a two-way switch.

The collapse of the retaining wall cost me over $5k to rectify, and the builder did not take any ownership of the issue. The wall did not have a footing, which in my opinion, should have been checked before construction. The missed inclusion of the two-way switch was also disappointing. Although I made my mark-ups clear, Activa missed it in their drafts, and I was charged over $600 to have it included. Activa did not take any responsibility for their drafting error, which was disappointing. Honestly, if Activa had chipped in even 20% of the funds due to their drafting error, I would have been happy. Though I was happy with the end product and having a brand new home.

Overall, Activa Homes' service was good at the beginning but fell a little flat towards the end, resulting in a slightly above-average experience for me. While I acknowledge that builders may not want to accept blame, I feel that Activa Homes could have taken more responsibility for the issues that occurred during construction. I rate Activa Homes three stars.

This is the first time my husband and I built a house and doing it in COVID times was a risk. I saw a lot of bad comments about the big building companies and it only made sense to go with a small reliable builder, Activa.

I felt so lucky to build with Activa. Nil to minimal delays. Fast reliable trades and excellent quality. They have a lot of loyal staff which made the process a breeze. We were constantly on site looking at the house, chatting with the trades and inspecting the amazing work.

Communication was great and every time I decided to make a variation it was actioned very quickly without feeling annoying.

I believe you get what you pay for and I am so happy that I built my dream home to exceptional quality.

The process was seamless, and their staff are honestly reliable and accessible which made this all the better. Thank you Peter, Sharon, and Pete for making home building an enjoyable experience. This is actually the first review I have ever written. I’m usually the person who loves to read them not write them. However I was taught if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all. Which brings me to writing this comment. I have a lot of great things to say about Activa Homes Group so far in our journey of building my first property in Perth.

Peter has been outstanding. I have been full of questions since the get go and he always answers openly and honestly. If he doesn’t know something he finds out and actually gets back to me! He took the time to hand draw custom plans for me based on my ideas. I can’t thank him enough for going that extra mile that no one else seemed to want to. Thank you for keeping me in the loop and updating me frequently with progress photos and emails. Communication has been top notch.

Sharon was extremely helpful in the pre- selection phase. After I sent numerous photos, she knew the look I wanted to go for and I took her advice and experience on many colours and fixtures and I can’t wait to see the end result. Thank you for being patient and working out the perfect colour scheme.

Brad my site supervisor took the time to introduce himself and ask what was the best way to be contacted and vice versa. He also has been keeping me updated with photos of the build progress and emails me back promptly with any questions I have.

All I can say is I am extremely happy I went with my gut and trusted Activa Homes Group with my build and they have not let me down once.
